“Good for the price”
Reviewed 12 February 2011

We got a little cabin wich is cute but was not really bug-proof and clean... But the bathroom is clean and have hot water. Mastress is good... but there's a dog barking non-stop. It's just outside town so it's better with a car... and anyway it's better going there with a car. They don't really try to help you with activities or try to speak english... they also lost our reservation but no problem, this is not full at all even in high season. Restaurant have good price, and way better service then the one in the hotel in town. Overall it's good for the price.

My wife and I stayed here in January 2010. We think it is the best place in town, and it is in easy striking distance of many all the sites. The staff is very conscientious and patient. The rooms though smaller in size are clean, and the beds are good. It is a great family run hotel with loads of atmosphere.
The hotel did NOT use toxic smelling cleaning agents or any artificial air “fresheners”, which can cause headaches, stinging eyes and much more dreadful, long term conditions. For that we were very, very grateful
It also gets really booked up making it important to book ahead. A little Spanish is also very helpful. We do not remember seeing any banks or ATMs. So be sure to come with cash. It is very easy to arrange transportation to the sites on your own or through the hotel. I would just insist on a slow ride through Calakmul in order to see animals. It is well worth the effort to go there. Enjoy!

This was the best option for us to explore local ruins. The restaurant is the stronger part of the operation. Rooms are basic, with scratchy towels, and each room has its own seating area (table and chairs) outside, in a small alcove. The kitchen works well, even with larger groups, and the food is good. We asked for a fruit plate and toast which were not on the menu and were accommodated. Hardworking and cheerful Manuela speaks the most English. She called a taxi for us to visit the ruins at Becan. We tried to pay with a credit card and were told we would have to go down the road to Mirador Maya (apparently, a related establishment) to use their machine. This hotel is really the only mid-range option in the region--other hotels are either much more expensive or strictly for backpackers.

Great place for close accomodations for ruin hopping. Room was small but clean, A/C, TV, bathroom with good shower. Parking area with an attendant 24 hours. Restaurant is great for breakfast - they made pancakes for use even though they weren't on the menu. Dinner was average. Went down the street to Mirador Maya for a great dinner - Tostados were wonderful! Great enchiladas.

We stay at Rest y Hotel Calakmul in Friday Oct. 9, We did like this place a lot, we rent 2 rooms with AC-TV-Hot water for 550.00 Pesos each. It has a parking lot, Senora Manuela is very nice, I had talk to her 1 week before. The Restaurante is clean and the food was very deliciuos, the rooms are ok to me, the only thing is they are dark.

It is close to downtown, which beats the Mirador Maya, but it is not right down by the bus station and a noisy disco, like the Hotel Victoria and another one are.

This place has three tiers of room prices. All rooms have two beds, but the most expensive at 600 pesos, has TV, AC and ensuite bath. The next at 450 just has no TV. The cheapest at 250 has a ceiling fan and shared bath, which I shared with another fellow and found to be adequate over three days. The hotel has an okay restaurant, but we generally headed off east to the next one just past it where the food and beer was cheaper.

Much earlier I had called to make reservations for the seven of us, but they lost any record of it, so don't bother. The days seem to be long gone when when there could be a lack of rooms in Xpujil.

We could not reserve this hotel on internet in andvance because they do not have got webside. But it was not really necessary, they had got enough free rooms. The hotel has got also a restaurant with pretty good food. The room is small, but it has got satellite tv. The ruins are just the other side of the main road. So if you would like to explorer the ruins in Xpujil and in the neighborhood this is a good place to stay 1-2 nights.
