“So close yet so far. A sanctuary tucked away in the heart of the Yarra Valley.”
Reviewed 5 May 2017 for a stay in April 2017

We were looking for a weekend in the Yarra Valley, wineries on the Saturday, Healesville Sanctuary on the Sunday. Perfectly situated for both, we liked the sound of The Burrow but it exceeded all expectations. A wonderful welcome, a cosy home away from home, on the edge of a billabong with nature literally on the doorstep. Our stay all too brief, we will be back, for longer next time.

It was such a pleasure to have you stay in The Burrow, and your particular enjoyment and appreciation of our wildlife was very evident. We're also delighted that you felt your expectations were more than met, even in such a short time.

It will be wonderful to have you return for a longer visit ... and lots more wildlife conversations to share. Maybe we can tempt you with an experience of Eastern Pygmy Possums and Mountain Pygmy Possums, up close and personal.

warmest regards, Sue & Bill

“Completely pampered at an amazing place!”
Reviewed 10 April 2017 for a stay in April 2017

If you are looking for a quiet, authentic place with a beautiful surrounding (and beautiful people as hosts), you should really go here. The cottage is lovely decorated and has a very 'homely' warm feel. Not to mention the view... The location is very central with winery's all around. But you can also stay in for a night and enjoy a great meal prepared by Sue (excellent food or a good price!). We will visit The Burrow again for sure!

Thank you for your great review ! we did so enjoy hosting you and having the chance for some conversations about many topics.

We are delighted that you enjoyed dining 'at home' too; we love being able to offer a home-prepared dinner to our guests, and it's a nice way to extend the relaxation of Wombat Bend.

We'd love to have you stay again when you need some time-out from the city bustle and noise. You are perfect guests !

Cheers, Sue & Bill

Thank you for your fabulous review and enjoyment of The Burrow, including our Dine In Tonight menu. It was great that also you liked our local go-to eatery at Dixons Creek Cafe .. we love it too! The extra special touch was that you had an exciting afternoon with our Eco-Adventure Tour and saw so many unusual birds, topped off with the amazing sighting of the Dusky Antechinus, rarely seen.

You made the very most of your stay and we hope you can return for a top up.

Cheers, Sue & Bill

“In the heart of the Yarra Valley, settle in by the billabong and listen to the birdlife.”

Our hosts Sue and Bill welcomed us to The Burrows, located in the spectacular Yarra Valley wine region, close to Melbourne.
Our accomodation was a cosy mud brick cottage, set among beautiful towering eucalypts overlooking the bird filled billabong. Inside was a very comfortable big bed and every aspect of the cottage was thoughtfully set up and stocked for all our needs.
In the distance we heard the resident Airedales and we later delighted in a visit from 'Chill'i and 'Beckham'.
Our two night stay was all too short and we will definitely be returning.

“Cosy and diffusing”
Reviewed 15 March 2017 for a stay in March 2017

Cosy hand-built cottage and the natural surrounds with amazing wildlife was so diffusing. I could tangibly feel the stress melt away after our two night stay. We feel so much more connected and united as a couple, so vital for busy parents of young children! Thank you again for your wonderful hospitality :)
