“Perfect Writer's Retreat.... Again!!”
Reviewed 27 May 2018 for a stay in May 2018

This was my third stay at The Burrow and it will not be my last. Each time I have come with writing tasks to complete - book chapters to finish, articles to revise, papers to begin - and each time I have exceeded what I thought possible. The energy of Wombat Bend - peaceful, grounded, focused, welcoming - ensures that the space really becomes the perfect writer's retreat. I find myself - full of good food, good tea and good sleep - able to focus in a way that is just not possible in other, more distracting, venues. Sue and Bill were, as always, incredible. I really appreciate how naturally hospitable and real you both are. Many thanks!

It's a two-way street ! we do so love having you, and knowing you find The Burrow to deliver all that you need and that you achieve so much here is music to our ears.

It is so important that you can focus on complex tasks in an atmosphere and environment that ~ while stimulating, is also relaxing ~ enables you to meet your goals.

Slightly tweaking your own phrase, we love knowing you also 'find yourself' in your very own space ~ which probably adds to your productivity and creativity. It will be our very real pleasure to welcome you again next time.
warmest wishes
Sue & Bill

It was such a serendipitous moment .... a chance to meet a 'new friend' and to share conversations and thoughts like 'old friends'. Your sense of place was so immediate. Thank you for your lovely appreciation of Wombat Bend..... we hope there will be a time for returning.

“Perfect place to 'get away from it all' and/or explore the Yarra Valley!”
Reviewed 16 May 2018 for a stay in April 2018

Our stay at the Burrow was the highlight of our trip to Australia. I couldn’t recommend staying here enough. Sue and Bill are wonderful hosts and did everything possible to make our stay a truly memorable experience. What they have done to their land is inspirational and helps remind us of nature’s importance and vulnerability. The Burrow is private and well designed. It felt like your own home and would be suited for all, whether you’re looking for peace & quiet, romance or adventure.

A pause in your busy lives that gives you some restoration and a chance to breathe more deeply.

We know you could only stay one night, but we sincerely hope you may find your way back to The Burrow for a much longer stay next time.

“Most Fantastic Experienced Stay!”
Reviewed 16 May 2018 for a stay in April 2018

Bruce and I stayed at The Burrow in April this year for 1 night (though we wished we had an extra night stay). I would just love to say that from the moment we entered the premises, we could already foresee a wonderful experience ahead! Sue and Bill were the most welcoming human beings since we stepped out of the car! Sue showed us the beautiful room and there were food and drinks there enough to feed us for weeks! HAHA!

The atmosphere around was such a wonderful experience with loads of different species of birds everywhere and a beautiful man made Burrow!!! HOW INCREDIBLE!!??! We also managed to see a Possum!!!!

I would definitely recommend this lovely place if you're up in the Yarra Valley because it is definitely worth all your time and money to see it!!!

THANKS SUE AND BILL - WE WILL BE BACK!

Thank you so much for your great review ~ your pups were a delight and they really enjoyed the freedom to run and bounce around happily with plenty of space ~ and smells ~ to explore. You also made the most of discovering much of the Yarra Valley that is also dog-friendly ~ especially the lovely walks in the Warburton region and along the Yarra River.

It was a real pleasure to welcome you to The Burrow. Thank you for being such super guests!
cheers

“Lovely spot”
Reviewed 5 May 2018 for a stay in April 2018

Quiet cottage in a beautiful rural setting, close to wineries. We were well looked after by the host with plenty of yummy food. She even arranged our tours: a fantastic day at the wineries and a pet the wombat session. Highlight was a visit from a wildlife carer who came to the cottage to show us the local wildlife up close and personal. We will often look back at this special little holiday we had at The Burrow.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and warm review. We are delighted that all the special events we were able to organise or arrange for you met your wishlist so completely. Your own interests in wildlife gave us a special opportunity to engage at a very personal level ~ and a wonderful chance to have a 'hands on' experience with some very rare Australian animals.

We loved the opportunity to make your anniversary celebrations so memorable (for us also !).

warmest wishes

“A Rustic Affair”
Reviewed 24 April 2018 for a stay in April 2018

If you're looking for rustic Aussie charm, look no further!! My husband and I couldn't have asked for more, submersed in a birds paradise the cottage is amazingly homely and offers everything you'd need and more! Breakfast produce was fresh and there was a variety of continental and English Breakfast goodies, We loved the fact you prepared breakfast yourself, no early get-ups or stipulations on time. A definate lie-in is guaranteed, if you wanted to have one but we loved nature's alarm clock of birds squarking on the verandah getting us up for the day ahead. Over looking a beautiful dam with misty Charm relaxes you. Star gazing is magical too. Sue & Bill are fantastic hosts with a wealth of knowledge on the surrounding areas and beyond. Thanks again for a fantastic weekend. We can't wait to return.

Thank you for such a warm review from two world travellers ~ it's always a thrill to know that you found a special 'new' place to add to your experiences around the globe. It's easy to take for granted that we see a wonderful sky every night with the stars so clear and sharp ... but you particularly commented and brought it home that city living means you don't get to see such wonders so easily. The mist over the billabong has a great charm ... again, you saw it. Wonderful guests with such sensitivity ! We'll be looking forward to your return.
cheers, Sue & Bill
