“Would definitely stay again, lovely!”
Reviewed 20 February 2014 via mobile

There was a group of 8 of us in Melbourne for the weekend and got a great deal on wotif. Location was great, check in and reception were fantastic. The rooms were nice and modern and liked that we could all talk to each other from our balconies. Would definitely stay here again. Also very handy with the tram stop opposite the hotel (and a pub). Whilst they were there you would not have known from the rooms, no outside noise disturbance at all. Great place!!

Hello chickdale,
Great to hear that you all enjoyed yourselves, sounds like you had a lovely time. The trams are easily accessible and the Bridge Hotel across the road is great fun!
We will love to have the chance to welcome you back again soon.

I recently traveled to Melbourne on business and stayed at the Amora. I have previously stayed at hotels in the CBD and can say the Amora has reset my expectations for business trips to Melbourne and is well worth the short trip from the CBD. The staff were very pleasant and efficient and made me feel not only welcome but they made me feel I was important to them. The quality of the room was far above what I expected, The room I stayed in spacious and one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in. The layout of the room was spot on with desk and lounge. There was even a great balcony to enjoy an afternoon beer on. The bathroom was modern and spotlessly clean. There were a few little personal touches in the room that made me feel very welcome. The location of the hotel must also get a special mention. Having a tram virtually at the door made getting around so simple and easy. Being on Bridge Road was a real treat when it came to options for somewhere what Melbourne is so famous for, great food and coffee. My only dilemma was the quality of the in house food was far above what I expect from a hotel and I would eat here in preference to several of the places I tried out on Bridge Road. Finally I must say the value you get staying here far exceeds the Hotels I have stayed in the CBD. I will definitely be staying here for all future business trips to Melbourne.

I’m not one to write a review for a hotel, even if the service was exceptional, but I made the effort of writing this review just to show how much we enjoyed our stay!
For our one year anniversary, my girlfriend and I stayed at this amazing hotel in a great location right in the hustle and bustle of Bridge Road. The hotel room was clean, comfortable, inviting and the friendly TV greeting was taking the customer service level to a higher standard!
Our room had a amazing balcony overlooking Richmond which was a great way to relax with a few drinks on a hot night.
The breakfast itself was amazing! Hash browns, sausages, eggs, pancakes enough to make a grown man feel like a kid again!
Not all of this could have been done without the help of John Tolis at front desk. He was extremely helpful in organising my hotel booking and recommended some very nice bars and restaurants within walking distance. He made our stay such a delight that we would return in a heartbeat for another night stay! Thank you John for your help on our special day.

A fantastic place to stay with the family. We stayed in one of the spacious 2 bedroom / 2 storey apartments. It was great to be ale to comfortably accommodate our family of 5. The 3 children had a TV in their bedroom & their lounge - so there were no fights over what to watch. It also allowed the adults downstairs to have a peaceful sleep-in !
There was a kitchenette in the upstairs section, so we were able to prepare meals for breakfast & dinner on those occasions that we didn't feel like dining out.
Room service was excellent and very well priced.
The front of house team were very welcoming - especially Brian and Gary, who went out of their way to make the stay enjoyable and relaxing for us all: and not to forget the housekeeping staff who were always pleasant and made the rooms a treat to come back to every day.
The convenience of having the tram at the front door can't be underestimated (also being able to buy tickets at reception was very handy). It was a quick ride into the city, along Bridge Road...but we were spoilt for choice with the amount of restaurants / shops / pubs etc. all within a short walk of the Amora.
Another highlight was being able to watch the New Year's fireworks over the city from our balcony(s).
On-site undercover parking was also a bonus. Can't wait to come back here for our next stay !!

Room Tip: Rooms on the north side are a little quieter, but the south side offers great views of Bridge Road a...

For my wife's 43rd birthday we chose to spoil the whole family including our 3 children who were aged 14, 11 and 7 by staying at a hotel for the first time in 6 years. After being knocked back via internet by nearly every hotel in Melbourne due to having 3 children we luckily came across the Amora Hotel and not just pleased to have us but through in unlimited movies, buffet breakfast for all 5 of us, bottle wine and a cheese platter. A TV for each bedroom so no fights over which movie to watch-was this hotel heaven we had found? All staff particularly receptionist Jamie were friendly to us all, food scrumptious particularly room service nachos and rooms were so clean and luxurious that we requested and were given a late checkout. The family and birthday wife were so impressed that we can't wait for my wife's 44th birthday already to return for a night where we were all treated like kings and queens.
Many thanks to Amora for accommodating families and for being so happy to have us.

Room Tip: 4th floor 2 bed room apartment style rooms sensational

The hotel was about 5 km from my meeting venue in the CBD. I initially stayed at a CBD hotel. Then changed to be closer to some friends. You can catch a tram into the city easily. Coming back the trams are not as frequent if it is not the rush hour. No problem for me as I put my jogging shoes on and got to the Amora in quick time. Wish there was a gym in house. The scenic Yarra river makes up for it. The pool & gym is out of the hotel but I did not get the time to visit.

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms facing the courtyard for more peace and quiet.

Hi Fitfun F, thank you for your review. We are very lucky to have a tram stop directly on our doorstep. The Yarra River bike trail is also another way of getting in to the city, though much more picturesque and only 25 minutes via bike. Unfortunately we do not have gym/pool facilities on site, however free access is available at the Richmond Recreational Centre.
We hope to see you again soon.

Great Hotel, rooms reasonably sized even with three adults in it! We have just come back from staying here after two nights in Melbourne.
Staff was really friendly and helpful.
Location is excellent numerous restaurants to eat just down Bridge Road, tram line directly in front of the hotel to get into the city.
Reasonably priced parking with in and out privileges.
