After our holiday on the Yacht Gecko (where we've got engaged!) we stayed for 2 nights at Marcine's place
What can I say- it was perfect! If you like crowds and buffet food it's not place for you, you are treated as a personal guest here, with delicious food, served just for you, with evening drinks and talks, with amazing view..
Totally agree with HatSW- we too will be back, hopefully very soon!
Thanks to Marcine and her staff for our wonderful stay!

Wow! Marcine! What can I say! I so needed to take a break from the rat race of everyday life and you planted the seed of an idea to come and see your beautiful spot on Nosy Komba. And wow, you were so right. The accommodation was comfortable, private, serene. Your culinary skills are heavenly. The snorkeling, trips to the coffee plantation, villages, indigenous forest were just what I needed to restore some life back into my weary soul.
You are truly thoughtful and attentive to your guests's needs.
This will surely be the first trip of many so that I may explore every inch of the exquisite coral and fish life of this peace of paradise.

293 On Komba is truely a slice of heaven on earth. It is a honeymooners haven. Marcine and her team made our Honeymoon stay a remarkable out of this world experience. Our room was immaculately clean everyday with a beautiful view of the ocean and our own quaint patio. Marcine's cooking and meals were always divinely delicious, FRESH and beautifully presented. We were spoilt with on-site island massages, refreshing cocktails and fun boatrides to nearby snorkeling sites. The snorkeling experiences were AMAZING! We swam amongst turtles, untouched coral and many beautiful fish and shells! We enjoyed paddling in the canoe along the islands coast surrounded by turtles whilst stopping at many private beaches along the way. Private and secluded 293 On Komba along with Marcine's professionality and her team will make your stay an amazing and truly special experience. We can highly recommend it and will definitely be back!

Room Tip: The Lemur Room is a must!

We stopped here during a charter holiday on Yacht Gecko, next time - and there will be a next time - we will stay at 293 for a few days after our charter. Marcine is a wonderful hostess and truly cares for her guest. She offers great boat trips to snorkelling spots away from the main touristy areas, personal service and excellant meals! She genuinely loves Nosy Komba and all who occupy this little island.

Room Tip: Definitely worth stopping here for a few days (at least) to revive and recover from the stress and r...

Helville... Boat Ride... Heaven! Now we know. Our first introduction into the Nosy Komba experience started with a Caiprinha at Bar la Plage. One of the many quaint establishments in the nearby village. It is a short walk on a beautiful sandy beach from 293 and just far enough to appreciate every drop of Caiprinha, but not too far if you overstep your limits. The village folk are amazingly friendly, open and inviting.

Everyday started with delicious Madagascar Coffee and Mora-mora (slowly-slowly) awakenings became part of our existence.

We were treated to the most amazingly scrumptious breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Dinners always ending with a little Rhum or Coco Punch.

The rooms are spacious, the fan saved our lives a few times and the cold showers was an absolute blessing.

I can recommend this to any one just want to relax

Arriving at 293 on Komba is like stepping foot on a little slice of heaven, or that's how we felt as we pulled up on the beach.

Hopping out of the boat from Hellville, well skippered by Josario, you step into warm tropical clear water and splash your way onto a sparkling white sandy beach (more on that later).

We had chosen to spend part of our honeymoon on the island retreat and our hope for relaxation, good food and the perfect place to chill was realised.

Marcine is an amazing host, and we were welcomed with open arms to 293 and breakfasted on fresh fruit. It's fair to say the fruit here romps all over the stuff from your supermarket back home. It's bursting with flavour and colour, so your mouth spends the majority of the time at 293 tingling with excitement.

During our stay with Marcine we managed to get through a lot of great activities including snorkelling, whale watching and trekking in the Lokobe nature reserve.

The first activity you have to do on Nosy Komba is take the short walk down the beach to the village and visit the Lemur Park.

Wild lemurs sit in the trees and come on down to greet you if you offer them a banana. Also in the nature park are tortoises, snakes and chameleons. The chameleons are amazing, and the guides speak English and French so you can easily grasp some info about the animals too.

Having a Caiprinha is a Komba institution, and knocking back a few rums while enjoying Marcine's cooking is all part of the experience. Fresh fish, caught a few hours before, spicy sauces and the best coconut rice you will ever eat were all on the delicious menu.

Our whale watching trip and trek in Lokobe are definitely worth doing, as is just grabbing your flippers and heading out to the small reefs just on 293's doorstep. We saw starfish, turtles and more fish than I can name - just a five minute swim from the beach.

The rooms at 293 are great, open, spacious and kept very clean and tidy by the staff. There's a lovely feel in the evenings in the gardens and sitting on the terrace, while unwinding with a beer or cocktail.

Glimpsing one of the sunsets is also a most, you can take a picnic rug down to the beach and kick back and see the sun melt into the ocean. Or clamber your way round to the other side from 293 and see the sun flame its last for the day as it drizzles the landscape a soft orange and purple.

Our trip to 293 was fantastic, just make sure you leave enough time to explore Komba and the surrounding islands. And be careful of the rum! Thank you Marcine for helping to make our honeymoon the trip of a life time.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Lemur Room, it's lovely
