Great little place. We had a double bungalow with it's own bath which was nice as long as you know what to expect (this is a budget resort, don't go expect spa baths and fancy rooms). Lovely gardens and the restaurant was pretty good (thankfully since once the tide came in there weren't any other options that were walkable).

The staff was friendly. I'd go back.

Pakachi is a very relaxed and friendly place worth staying longer than only 3-4 nights. All rooms have nice little verandas or balconies and those not directly facing the sea have a view in the garden - in the morning you can watch little birds looking for nectar in the blossom
The staff is helpful and open for any questions you might have.
The rooms - (of the little bungalows) are basic but spotless and cleaned every day, the mattress are excellent and I did not miss an AC. The water pressure of the shower is rather low and - like in all the guesthouses of the area - you don't have fresh water for showering but you acclimate very easily. The salt content is not as "salty" as I was concerned - I simply wouldn't drink it.

I loved the restaurant - try out the seafood pizza or ask for the recommendation of the day.

Jambiani is more quiet than Paje making this guesthouse an excellent place to calm down. Nevertheless it is close enough to walk to along the beach to Paje. The staff can organize dhow trips, dolphin tours, trips to the forest and probably way more for you - but you need to ask them directly.

The guesthouse is directly on the beach

This is right on the beach with its own restaurant and bar serving good food at tourist prices (not unreasonable but not discount). Rooms are clean and it felt fairly safe and secure. Lots of DYI activities available like bikes, snorkel equipment, etc. The staff are lovely and they have a massage lady on staff. Good drinks are available. It's central to Jambiani and Paje so there are lots of good restaurants around. All around a very lovely stay.

We (2 adults + 3 kids age 7-9-12) stayed 4 nights @ pakachi in August, in a family banda. There was plenty space in the banda, basic but right what you need at the beach. Owner Kimberly has great stories to tell, and we were well received. Food is good. Price / quality is excellent.
We went snorkeling one day and that was not very impressive. One minus is the rocks at the beach which prevents you from going easily into the water right at the hotel - a bit further on there's no problem.

Booked this place with a few friends whilst we were in Tanzania. For the price we paid, the place was spectacular! I would have paid double what I actually paid. Amazing views and we had the beach to ourselves. Kim, the lady who runs Pakachi was ever so welcoming & helped us booked a snorkelling trip with a local boatsman. The accommodaion was a house which was beautiful! Topped off by having its own hammock. The breakfasts were lovely. The food at lunch and dinner, took a little long once ordered. Overall Pakachi was very relaxing, beautiful beach and had a beautiful atmosphere.
