When you come to the Pakachi, you emidiatly feel the African Zanzibar wipe. The place indolges calm or as the lokals call it in Zwahili; ''pole pole''. We came in early March and was welcomed with both warm weather, cold water and friendly staff. We lived in a traditional nuru house, 4 adults, a children and 2 infants. All the beds had installations for mosquito nets and we even got at special children's bed with the same instillation. We had our own mosquito nets with but the hotel also had some and we god a brand new one. The house was a bit warn but cleen and full of the African wipe. When you stay at the Pakachi, you don't get the all-inclusive-european feeling, and for us, that was the best. We could have privacy and there were plenty of time for regular conversations with the local staff about Zanzibar culture and other. The food was good and there were, amongst others, chicken, fresh fish and vegi pasta with fries or rice. No problem making special children food and other wished. For breakfast you get served fresh fruit, fresh juice and the best pancakes with chocolate sauce i have ever tasted, or scrambled or fried eggs with toast. Thee staff helped us arrange both snorkeling, dolphin watching and swimming, a trip to a spice farm and to see the butterfly center. Also they helped with trips to the near by city Paje for souvenir shopping and their small supermarket. If you feel like it, you can always visit the near by hotels and resorts but when you come back, you will see that, without knowing it, you've missed the relaxed African feeling and wipe that they have at the Pakachi.
So if you want a good priced hotel, a bit more primitive then all-inclusive, local Zanzibar wipe, friendly and helpfull staff, beautyfull beach, then you should choose the Pakachi.
