“Very bad”
Reviewed 29 August 2013

We went (a group of 4 friends) to Goa for the new year (2012-2013). After weeks of research we decided to go ahead with Camelot as the price looked fair and the location was quite close to the beach.
Turned out, most of the hotels are located quite close to the beach, so the location wasn't an advantage. The breakfast was terrible. Room service extremely poor. Rooms tiny and quite primitive window ACs that would wake a bear from hibernation were installed!
The real cherry on top of this was the management. They were very unhelpful and rude. We had reserved three rooms as we were going to be 6. Two people couldn't get their visas on time and had therefore cancelled. Although we gave the hotel sufficient time in advance to cancel, they wouldn't cooperate and charged the extra room for the duration of the stay. They were very rude while we tried to explain to them that they would definitely find customers as it was the new years and everywhere was fully booked. For sure they could have made more money but they wouldn't have it. They simply ignored us and said "Company policy".

Avoid this place like the plague!

Room Tip: none of the rooms are good, so .. yeah!

We had stayed The Camelot couple of years ago and the service, rooms overall were pretty good back then (guess it was a new property then and they wanted to make a decent name).
So when me and my friends decided to head to Goa for a few days over a holiday weekend we straightaway zeroed in on The Camelot to stay at.
The manager at the reception clearly is clueless about good hospitality and instead looks like doing a favor by giving you a room even though u are paying for it.
We had to pay the full tariff upfront as it was a sold out period which seemed fine but as we checked in we realised it was a mistake. the rooms looked like they had not had fresh air for sometime now and had a peculiar smell. the towels were laundered but had bad stains all over. The rooms had glasses but no drinking water. in fact even if you wanted a jug of Luke warm water you will have to pay for it. it would be cheaper to buy a bottle of mineral water at a decent restaurant instead.
Half the times these guys wont present a bill when you order room service and say the system is down or something of sorts. when i was checking my bill thats when i noticed all these weird charges. i sarcastically said to the guy at the reception that 'i hope u've not charged me for the air around here in your hotel' he replied very innocently 'no sir no sir'

We had an extra person in the room so obviously will need extra bedding and towels, the same was brought to the room and handed over but no service was provided to set up the same. If you want your room cleaned in the later half of the day the housekeeping staff will blankly tell the reception guys that they cannot clean the room as they are tired.
The only saving grace here was the food.

I can go on and on but i guess u guys will get tired of reading this.

Bottom Line. PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE AND SPEND YOUR MONEY ON SOME OTHER DECENT OPTION THAT VALUES YOU AS A CUSTOMER.

Room Tip: Dont go there... unless u have money to burn.....

One of the best hotels in North Goa for people who like to hang around Baga.. Good quality rooms with decent amenities.. The hotel is very close to Baga beach yet off main Baga Calangute road making it suitable for people who want quietness..

We booked the hotel for 4 nights
Took the cottage for the first night which was very good looking at first sight
but turns out we didn't get along with forgs and cockroaches that paied us a visit at night time.. So after a sleepless night we switched to the normal room which was pretty basic and nice.
The food was good and the staff was nice
The pool is small and OK
10 min walk to the main street and 15 to the beach .
The hotel has a complementary WiFi ant lobby only!

Overall its pretty basic and a cheap hotel
And if you don't like bugs and frogs don't take the cottage :)

we visited Goa this year and since we were looking for a decent budget hotel with a close proximity of the beach we choose the Camelot. once u enter the hotel you don't feel disappointed but however the behavior of the staff forces you to regret your decision of choosing this hotel. they are rude do not respond to questions of Indian tourists. the prices are not at par with the rooms or the breakfast served. there are better hotels in an around with the same budget. the rooms are clean yes but the service is bad. the air conditioner of our room was not working well when we called the room service to look into the matter they said that that is the max cooling that will do, but it was just the blower not the cooling that was happening. most important very rude staff you don't feel welcome at all.

The resort is decent, but the attitude of the staff is very bad......Specially, the receptionist...she treats guests like they are some sort of slaves....i made a trip of 5 days, but couldn't stay there for more than 2 days....the room were decent but not great....if you are planning to visit, then my advice is to stay at some other place....

Room Tip: Rooms on the south side are quieter
