First off, fly Kingfisher airlines, they are fantastic!
After looking at 4 rooms, we finally settled for the 4th room. Block 13, closer to the beach. Was put in block 7 at first, but after reading a review from someone else about the taxi men shouting all night, we declined it straight away. The rooms were clean, & the room boys are really helpful, one phone call & they are at the door with whatever you need. The beds are rock hard & the air con is really noisy. After speaking to other people, we realised we chose the right hotel as they were all moaning about their hotels. The pool area is small, the pool is clean & the water is warm, very nice, but in a sun trap, way to hot to sit there. March/april was a bad time to go as it was way to hot, 33 at night, 40+ during day. Baga beach is ok, really busy with sellers, but you get used to them. TGI Fridays is the shack we used, very friendly & helpful. Morjim Beach is deserted & peaceful, worth spending the day there.
Went to the waterfalls, fed the wild monkeys & washed the elephants, that was a great experience.
Pesquados, Electric Cats, Ronil Royale in Baga are great restaurants. Also, in Candolim, a place called After 7, superb food in an outdoor setting in a peaceful garden.
You take your life in your own hands walking along the road as there are no pavements, we saw one motorbike accident, they drive like looneys & constantly beep their horns!!
All in all, our holiday was good, so pleased the hotel is located right on the beach, really handy. Didn't go much on the breakfast though, but you can eat at any of the shacks on the beach for peanuts, plus you get free sunbeds & unbrellas. The sea is like bath water, really warm, but the waves can knock you off your feet!

We spent 3 weeks at this hotel in February 2009 and enjoyed every minute of our stay.
Hotel in a great location only minutes from the beach. All the staff were most helpful and friendly - nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast was adequate - we did think most of the dishes catered for the indian side of the market - bacon was only served once during our stay but the chef would cook an egg in any style you liked and there was always fresh fruit and juices. We did have a couple of meals in the evening which were very good.
We had a room by the pool which was ideal as wife had a painful back. The hotel also arranged for a memory foam mattress to be put on the bed which was a great help. Room was cleaned every day and fresh towels provided daily. The swimming pool area was spotless and pool towels provided. The best hotel we have stayed at in Goa.

We have just returned from Goa on Tuesday after a 2 week break. We chose the csm through reading reviews on here and it was the right choice. From stepping of the coach, the bedrooms boys were there waiting to take our luggage to our rooms after checkin. We were invited to take breakfast even though we had just arrived at 7.00am.
The room was not so good, but when we mentioned this to our rep Laura from Thomas cook, she had a word and we were moved to a room over looking the pool area, great room. We had a living room that was well furnished, a seperate bedroom with king bed, and a very spacous bathroom. We asked for extra pillows and they were in the room in less than 10 minutes.
The room was spotless, and was cleaned to a high standard every day. Sheets changed every 2 days, and towels every 2 days. couldn't fault it at all. The location of the hotel was excellent, we were off the main road, it was quiet, and only 2 minutes from the beach. Go to inspirations beach shack, they will take care of you there.
The hotel itself was just a great size, got to know the staff and all of them so friendly. The breakfast selection was ideal, a chef was on hand to cook eggs any style, and the buffet had ample choice, and it was changed daisly. We only had 1 dinner in the hotel and the food was very good, and the value was great.
This is one of the cleanest hotels I have been to ever, and although India on the whole is basic, this hotel has everything you will need.

CSM is an amazing place. Very close to the beach (< 2 minutes). But the better part is the service. Very clean rooms and good space.
Even the restaurant is great.

Stayed in CSM in Dec on our second trip to Goa, the hotel was fantastic, no complaints whatsoever. Room (86) was clean and spacious, towels and bedding changed every day and nothing was too much trouble to the room boys. Anything we asked for;extra pillows, chair, was provided instantly. The only problem we had was the lock on our door jammed one night and we couldnt get into our room. When we notified reception, someone was there immediately, changed the lock and we were in our room in less than 10 mins.
All the staff from Reception, cleaning, restaurant and security were extremely friendly and helpful.
The food in the restaurant was good and varied.
The most appealing feature of CSM is its location, few mins walk from the beach and in the centre of everything. Taxis were always available at the entrance, though we always used Harry who parks at the top of CSM road. A very friendly and honest young man who took us wherever we wanted to go. Would recommend him to anyone.
All in all we had a fantastic trip to Goa and will return in the near future

We have recently returned from a holiday in goa where we stayed in hotel colonia santa maria. The whole of our stay was first class. Everyone in the hotel was extremely helpful and friendly. The room was cleaned daily to a very high standard, and was very spacious. The reception staff, waiters, chefs, especially Jack, were very friendly and the food was excellent. Pete from Coventry made all the guests welcome and could not do enough for everyone. My two children aged 8 & 7 had a fantastic time and my son who is 7 loved his chats with Pete about the football. The colonia santa maria is in a really good location and the large sandy beach and numerous beach shacks are less than a 2 minete walk away. We have been to Goa numerous times before, but this was definately the cleanest, most looked after hotel we have stayed in well done to all that work there, especially Pete and Jack. We will definately return.
