Our trip to Mahabaleshwar was aimed at a weekend away from the hustles and bustles of Mumbai. Since apparently we chose to visit during the peak season period, the hotels out there were charging ridiculous rates for very average rooms. Thats when we stumbled upon Hotel Dina. At first, we were put off by the name(no offence) and the front view of the hotel, but upon checking out the place(rooms and facilities), we were quite pleased the way they had maintained this apparently 100 year old premise. Check in was smooth and the rooms were fairly large enough. We were 4 of us and wanted to have a big room for ourselves, and bingo we got exactly that at Hotel Dina. The rooms had nothing like a hotel feel to it, rather you would feel more at home here.. The high wooden ceiling with the chill of the night, this place you wouldn't really need an air conditioner.
The staff were helpful, and thankfully they stuck at just being that(at times you get a bit irritated if they over extend their courtesy, especially when u r looking for a peaceful time there.) They have a very nice garden which has been well maintained and its a perfect place if you would really want to laze around.
To sum it up, I would highly recommend this place in Mahabaleshwar where there are 100's of hotels, but hardly a handful where you would feel satisfied for the money you end up paying.
A word to the Management, you could definitely market this place better and I am sure you could improve the already good business you have been carrying on for the last century.
