It is hot which could a great place to stay for families/friends/couple but if it is improved upon.

The rooms were damp, it could have been due to the fact that I was there in Monsoon, but the condition could have been certainly improved.
The rooms are spacious but I suppose the other factors like cleanliness, freshness, good linen were missed up to a lot of extent. So the sleep quality will decrease up to a lot of extent

The overall ambiance was good and the clouds and rain added to it overall a great season if you like rains.

The staff is not cent percent professionally trained. They are good people but don't expect them to be as cordial and helpful as you would in a good hotel.

The food is something that I appreciated the most of all the factors that are to be considered in a hotel, mind well, only Indian Food. The breakfast was also worth it, specially when there are very limited options for breakfast in the open market.

Do bargain a lot if you are visiting in off season.

Room Tip: For a Couple Lake view rooms are the best For family the basement rooms with Air Conditioner are th...

I went with my family in July'13. The hotel is located about 7 - 10 mins walk from the Mahabaleshwar market place. It has good infrastructure in terms of play area, swimming pool, temple etc. However, the rooms needs to be cleaned properly, especially the beddings. The bed and pillow covers were having moth smell, due to the cold weather. It took us time to adapt to the AC room, especially with the kids getting a bad feeling.
The savior was the food which was very good. There was good variety of food items. The breakfast was excellent , especially the Idlis and Vadas.
The staff was helpful.

Room Tip: Please go for the meal inclusive deal, as it'll be difficult to have the food from outside in th...

This hotel is located at a nice place, not very close to market, but walk-able distance, has some nice rooms with veranda, balcony, garden etc,
Good Environment around the hotel, with trees & all.

But Very poor quality Staff, very aggressive, no manners @ all, specially the Manager & Staff @ Reception.

When we were checking in it was confirmed with the counter staff that we are getting the room @ the rate of Rs. 1000 Per nigh Per Room (4 Rooms in total) & not according to the tariff card.

But when we were checking out, they asked us to pay 2000 Rs. Per room per night (that is as per Tariff Card)

That guy was not agreeing that he had said ok to 1000 rs per night.... very rude.... finally it was settled @ rs 1500 after a cop came & intervened.

Bathroom very dirty & Windows of bathroom broken, so privacy not good.

Can stay again, but not without a pre written bill,.... Or avoidable due to disturbance given by them & wasted 2 Hours of our time......

Room Tip: Rooms Facing the Road has good Outside space.

We stayed at the Bharat Hotel at our recent trip to Mahbaleshwar. The place is pretty decent, neat and good value for money. Ample parking space, which was important since we always drive down. The hotel is walking distance from the central market and thereby, conveniently close to restaurants etc. The only problem was the restricted timing for hot water and worse, the staff waking you up every morning to ensure you can finish your bath etc within the hot water availability window. That was a real disturbance in an otherwise good trip.

We had visited Bharat hotel before and had really enjoyed my stay. During this visit they had some construction on going due to which the maintenance the rooms we were staying were not up to the mark. The food during our first stay was much better than this time around.
However the place is wonderful and very close to the market. Hopefully the construction work will be completed whenever we plan to visit next.

at Hotel Bharat , M'shwar, every year i find improvisation in all the departments around. Rooms are more spaciously appointed, hygiene is improved,Food is marvellous. Most authentic taste ,indeed for all the various Indian cuisine they serve, be it Udipi breakfast food, Rajasthani , Gujju farsan dhokli, kadhi Khichadi or Marathi delicacies. Of course, Continental Veg.spread also was available.Only a seasoned group of Chefs can do justice to all such variegated spread. The only jarring eyesore was change from a cute lawn to drab desi auburn coloured stone rectangle farshi,

the ambience of the hotel was good. it was cold and room heaters were not available and rooms appeared damp. linen needs to be replaced and more lighting in the room be provided. reception people were polite and were considerate in allowing us to check out late. bathroom quality is average - can be improved. food is very good and the price is reasonable, especially the buffet. Magic show for the kids was excellent. Hotel should consider arranging a bonfire for the guests to relax in the evenings. Room service is prompt.

Room Tip: insist on rooms that are in the main area. they look better furnished and maintained than the rooms...
