We planned a short trip to This place in November with our close family. Saw their website and booked on instinct after talking with Mrs Uma More. When we reached there, the group members congratulated me on my selection of place! It is so nice and serene, you feel the connect with nature... Near Mahabaleshwar, but no crowd, just us in the whole place!!!

The hosts Mrs Uma and Mr Vijay More are very caring and well spoken. They took care of everybody's food specifications and likes as told to them for each meal. It was very nice and homely at their homestay. The food was very good: fresh hot and tasty. The staff is local homely and friendly. Very polite and hardworking people... rare to find elsewhere.

The rooms are basic with beds but clean. there were no mosquitoes in the air.
Toilets were also clean.

The location is what gets full marks. Hosts took us to nature walks every morning about 3 kms. from different routes around the jungle and fields. It was fun and energizing!!!
We took boat rides across the vast Koyna river...just us, no one around! We Swam in the water,
played few entertaining group games organised by the hosts. it was very good and fun.
Had bonfire at night with veg/non veg barbecue.

All in all, it was memorable experience amidst caring and friendly hosts, serene beautiful undisturbed nature and healthy and tasty village food........ Highly recommended!

Our stay at Sakha Niwas, in the midst of lush green hills, was just lovely. The hospitality was excellent...especially the warmth of the hosts and those serving. We had a good invigorating trek up the hill-side and spotted a variety of flowers. The boat-ride down the misty river was beautiful. In short...a very memorable stay.
What's really commendable is the personal attention and care of the hosts.

I went in a group of 7 people in the first week of September. We had only a stay of one night, but that proved insufficient to actually enjoy all the activities being planned and all the ambiance all around. We reached there in night an were welcomed very warmly by the host Mr. More. The hosts are one of the most hospitable and accommodating people I have ever come across, right from the first call for inquiry till the last farewell. The stay there was not luxurious but amply comfortable with hygienic surroundings and belongings. The food served was according to local cuisine and tasted very well. The best part was the Chicken Barbeque, the best and most delicious that we all have ever had. The activities included Trekking, Fishing, Boating, Swimming etc. which were quite engrossing and relaxing. The place also boasts of a DJ system with full blast for music lovers. I give a thumbs up for this place and will definitely go to this place soon. Yes a word of advice would be to go there in there peak season Starting from October. We only missed out on the tent stay because of the off season but will definitely make up for it in my next trip........

Room Tip: Go in for Tents if available else all rooms are equally good to accommodate.

Sakha Niwas, Harchandi Tapola - best place to beat the stress. We were a group of 9. We inquired over the phone, all the information about what we can expect at the Sakha Niwas were well explained. We booked our stay over the phone and all we were set. We were spellbound by the service provided by this young couple (Mr. & Mrs. More) who are managing Sakha Niwas. The rooms were clean. The local cuisine was made available to us and it was excellent. We had requested for barbeque and it was one of the best I ever had.
The activities were planned - mud bath, boating, trek, swimming (in the back waters)...WOW!!!
Due to heavy rains they had to remove the tents..and this is the only thing we missed. Next time we will plan in such a way that we can enjoy the stay in the tent and that will be soon.
Kudos!! for the excellent service.

This property is family run and an idyllic place for small groups or families to have a restful retreat along with lots of fun - by way of mud bathing, swimming, boating and great home cooked food with a terrific rural flavour. There are ideal morning treks and beautiul scenic views all around including a strawberry farm that is very close by. If you are looking for some peace from your hectic lives this is the place!
