We stayed here for our Christmas vacation and the house was the perfect place for the holidays. The view was spectacular and watching the sunset each night was fantastic. Every day we saw toucans along with other various types of birds and butterflies. We also saw monkeys on a couple of the days. The house is new and very beautiful and blends in with the jungle nicely. Nearby activities include white water rafting, surfing and hiking. We also went to the National Park which was only an hour's drive away. With all the activities we did, it was nice having a washer and dryer and it was also nice having WiFi to plan our daily activities (where to eat, where to hike, signing up for activitities, etc). There are plenty of good restaurants nearby along with a grocery store, bakery and pharmacy. This was the perfect Christmas vacation and this house along with all the nearby activities made it so. We look forward to returning to this beautiful jungle retreat!
we stayed at the house four nights. The house is beautiful and brand-new. Had everything we needed for young family. The owners and the management company were very accommodating to anything we needed. we just enjoyed hanging out on the balcony enjoying the sounds and views of nature while kids played in the pool.
we saw tons of animals just hanging out at the house. We saw toucans, macaws, monkeys, hummingbirds, huge praying mantises butterflies, etc. It rained a ton when we're there so we're kind a limited on outdoor activities but still enjoyed hanging out the house and relaxing. I definely would return, but I probably come more into the dry season
things to note
You must have a four-wheel-drive vehicle, the road to the house is VERY steep. The house is very open to the nature, so you must be ok to hearing and seeing the jungle at day and night. ( we thought this point overall was a great thing, but the howler monkeys in the trees right above the pool woke us up at 5:00am one morning and scared the sh##t out on us. ) If you're coming during the rainy season you may be limited on activities outside. I would recommend the repitile zoo and animal sanctuary near Dominical, when it's raining.
Pura Uvita can be described as a private paradise. Is the perfect combination between forest and beach. The house is beautiful, minimalistic and modern. It has everything you need, from cozy blankets to fun boogie boards for the pool. Both rooms are spacious and each one has a spectacular semi-outdoors shower. The house merges perfectly within the nature, from its inside you can se the “Tale of the whale” of Marino Ballena National park and the exotic animals of the forest, such as Tucanes. Wonderful place, amazing experience!!
The house was new, charming, well equiped and had its own pool! 4x4 is a must! Beaches in the area are beautiful. Go Pura Uvita!
I highly recommend this house, its smartly designed and confortable and has an unbeatable view. It's within 5- 10 minutes of the beach and really nice restaurants. I spent the weekend with my family and all of us had an amazing time, there's an option for everybody, you can have a really active day a the beach, enjoy a whale sitting trip or simply relax and enjoy the view. Also, the service is amazing. I can't wait to come back!!
