Stayed 6 nights at TikiVillas. Loved our private bungalow open to the jungle and ocean views, and the outdoor jungle shower. The hosts Thomas and Cindy aim to please, and made us feel welcome at our arrival with delicious frozen banana cocktails while we cooled off in the gorgeous pool. Perfectly located for easy day trips to Manuel Antonio and Marino Ballena parks and Hacienda Baru Wildlife Refuge, but still feels private and secluded. A great surfing beach is right at the bottom of the hill, and there are many restaurants within a 15 minute drive. We left our bungalow open for our entire stay so that we could enjoy the sights and sounds of the jungle, and there is some highway noise from the road below, but mostly we heard howler monkeys, toucans, geckos and the sounds of the ocean. We ordered in delicious Italian food for dinner from a nearby restaurant which Thomas would drive out to pick up and serve to us (talk about service!). TikiVillas is very good value, get it while you can!

My husband and I celebrated our second anniversary with an "adventurous" trip to Costa Rica. After learning about Domenical & Uvita from friends, we came to Trip Advisor looking for the hotel that we wanted to stay in. Tiki Villas sounded amazing and it was! The views were beautiful, the live animals we saw (and heard) in the area were memorable. The owners were very accomodating and helpful, offering tips and insight about the area. We loved going on a rain forest hike with a great guide at the Baru Reserve as well as horseback riding at Nauyaca Falls. It was "rainy" season when we were there and, typically, it rained every afternoon starting at 4ish- night time. On the positive side, we were the only guests for a number of days- it was like a second honeymoon. Also, the lack of children allowed it to be very serene laying the infinity pool, etc.

My only complaint would be the fact that you needed a car (or to organize for a rental car to be brought to the hotel for you). Restaurants, beaches, etc are quite spread out so it required us to drive often. Also, driving from San Jose in our rental 4 x 4 was quite challenging due to the limited directions we were provided. Definitely invest in quality directions before heading to Tiki Villas!

Place is absolutely amazing!
We loved every minute there.
The hotel is very well kept and beautifully decorated.
Can open all windows/doors for complete open air feeling.
Amazing views, outdoor showers, a safe and kitchenette.
The owner is the nicest most hospitable man, who just wants you to relax and enjoy your self. He is passionate about Costa Rica and would do anything to make your stay more comfortable.
The complimentary breakfasts were the best we have ever had!! Delicious and over the top!
Club house is gorgeous with infinity pool and all.
I would love to stay here every year! =)
By the way, you MUST have 4x4 to get to hotel.

We launched into our honeymoon by first coming to TikkiVillas, and it was an amazingly rich experience in terms of getting right into Costa Rica, while also resting and rejuvinating. Because of the sheer natural landscape of Costa Rica, the best way to experience it isn't a big hotel perched on parking lots and plazas. But at the same time, many people don't want to give up the emminities that come with a larger hotel. TikkiVillas gives the best of both worlds, if you can rent a car to get there and discover the beautiful surroundings.

The Tikkis are elevated and perched on a lush hill overlooking the rainforrest. The front of our Tikki folded away to reveal an unhindered and elevated panorama. There was privacy and a sense of isolation. However very close is all the emmenities of a larger hotel.

The dining, lounge, and infinity pool area are very nicely designed. The breakfasts were very delicious, and the reccomendations from Paul and Cindy for lunch and dinner were always great. Paul and Cindy are into the details, which is a really good sign of anyone who hosts anyone!

If the gardener, a sweet man names Jesus, still takes people to the nearby secluded waterfall...GO!

The beaches surrounding TikkiVillas were less crouded and the waves are prime for surfing (or watching serfers). We preferred the less populated beaches on our honeymoon, and there are a number of them around.

Some things which may not be as convenient are...
you will need to drive! However, we found that we would often go out exploring after breakfast and come after dinner to hang out and relax. So the car was part of the adventure.

Although the movable wooden screen wall is amazing, if you have a phobia of bugs, you may be grossed out cuz they do get in. But that's why it's a rainforrest! (the airconditioned Tikkis may be more bug proof)

Overall, we had a magical time, not the least because of the TikkiVillas experience, and have been plugging this gem to whichever of our friends is thinking about Costa Rica.

The staff was really friendly and helpfull. They created a perfect atmospher and made us feel really welcome.
Siting by the pool at night, waching the stars, hearing the waves hitting land and the sounds of the jungle is an incredible experience.
The rooms was tastefully decorated and it felt perfect to realx at the balcony watching the sunset after a long day at the beach or by the pool.

If you want to get away from every day life, this is the perfect place to realx.

After 10 days of touring Costa Rica and before moving on to Osa Peninsula, we took a breather at Tiki Villas north of Uvita. What a great place! It has breathtaking views of the ocean, jungle, and wildlife, in a romantic and secluded setting. There are 5 Bali style bungalows built on high platforms – beautifully integrated into nature – with prime ocean and jungle views. The rooms are open – no wall - toward the ocean, which was a wonderful experience. We fell asleep to the soft sounds of the ocean surf and the warm wind in the jungle and awoke to Toucans flying by. A new standard for relaxation and peaceful sleep! Just sitting on the terrace was a pure relaxation that produced after a while an altered state of consciousness. I have rarely been so relaxed. What a paradise! The rooms are very spacious with a walk-in closet, a large bathroom tiled in natural stone, and two showers: indoor and outdoor. The entire setting is spacious, soothing, and tastefully simple – no clutter but everything one might need including a kitchen (with coffee) and a refrigerator, and even insect repellent (we never had a problem). There is a large open Bali style restaurant (breakfast only) and bar and an infinity lap pool overlooking the ocean – ideal for watching wildlife and sunsets while sipping one of the excellent banana coladas Cindy makes. Tom was a most attentive, responsive, yet non-intrusive host. We felt we had the place entirely to ourselves while having gracious and attentive service when needed. While chatting we mentioned to Tom in passing that we love vegetables. The next morning he served an assortment of steamed fresh asparagus, and broccoli, sautéed bell peppers, perfectly ripened avocado in addition to the regular breakfast without extra charge. On the first day he asked how we liked our eggs; “poached” we said. He had never made poached eggs; no one had ever asked. However, 30 minutes later after a morning swim and shower we found at our breakfast perfectly poached eggs: he had googled how to make them. One could not wish for a more attentive and gracious host. The wonderful service added to the peacefulness and luxurious feel of the setting. We could have easily stayed a few more days. Tiki Villas is less than an hour’s drive away from Manuel Antonio and it is a much more pleasant setting than to stay in the crowded, overbuilt MA area with hustlers on every corner trying to sell you something. Hacienda Baru is a nearby and the beach is only across the street. The street between MA and Sierpe (Osa Peninsula) is new and the drive from Tiki Villas only took us 45 minutes. In hindsight, one could have even explored Osa Peninsula and Cano Island from here as one or two day trips – and would have saved a huge amount of money and stress. Tiki Villas was by far the best value on our CR vacation and many other vacations. It’s the perfect, relaxing, and romantic tropical get away.

We found TikiVillas late one night searching for accommodation in Uvita and were so lucky to come across it! Each of the casitas are spacious with beautiful balconies overlooking the forest and the sea and the view from the Balinese style bar and swimming pool area was even better! Apparently a sloth hangs out in the tree by the pool sometimes... he was hiding from us though! Ended up staying a couple of nights as it was so relaxing and a great location. Thank you to Thomas and Cindy for looking after us so well.
