All of the positive comments made below are absolutely true. My husband and I loved Tiki Villas. This place is exceptionally amazing, beautiful, and a perfect escape from reality. Tiki Villas provides a rustic jungle feel (complete with sloth, monkey, and toucan sightings) without feeling dirty, desolate, or unsafe. This is definitely one of the great hotels of the world. Wonderful view, service, breakfast, privacy, pool, lounge area, nature, and epic scenery. It was helpful to have a 4x4 car, as this place is definitely a couple of miles away from it all. This place is a dream.

The resort consists of five individual villas plus the main lounge. The natural setting is stunning as we could view the mountains, ocean and gardens sitting on our very large balcony. Toucans and about twenty other species of birds were viewed on property as well as a sloth, capuchin monkeys and howler monkeys. They have a nice path through the jungle to a small creek where we saw an elusive gray-necked wood rail. The breakfast was excellent and done with style. The architecture is reminscent of Bali - enchanting.

Staff was very helpful in calling several places for tours.

Would highly recommend. Our favorite place in Costa Rica!

Room Tip: Villa #1 is nicest but all are great!

My Husband, myself and a good friend recently visited TikiVillas and were absolutely blown away by both the location and the quality of hospitality shown us by Thomas and Cindy, the amazing owners. TikiVillas is located between Dominical and Uvita, in the southern part of Costa Rica, which is far less touristed than the north, and in my opinion, a lot more beautiful. TikiVillas is located up a fairly steep hill, and suffice to say that our jaws dropped upon entering this magical setting of ocean and rainforest. There is a spectacular Balinese inspired common area where we had breakfast and dinner, and mingled with other guests(and the beautiful Cindy and Thomas!). All open air with astounding views of the Pacific and a stunning infinity

pool.

Now to the "cabinas". If you want to experience exactly what Costa Rica should be like(and a lot of resorts miss this subtlety), you must experience the feeling of waking up in one of the cabinas (entire front of cabina can be opened) to the sound of howler monkeys and toucans flying by, and the crash of the Pacific below you. The rooms are spacious, beautiful cotton linens are provided, a small but adequate kitchenette, indoor and outdoor showers, and a large outside deck area. A refreshing outdoor shower is a must before morning coffee and the on to delicious, home-made gallo pinto, eggs, avocado and fresh fruit in the common area.

We have travelled to Costa Rica at least a dozen times and find it a challenge to find anything that compares to TikiVillas, in each of natural beauty, value, and hospitality. Cindy and Thomas deserve to be sincerely congratulated for sharing their magical spot with us all, and having us all walk away from the experience a little bit transformed. Pura vida at its best!!!

My wife and I chose to make this our third stop on our honeymoon and after plugging in the GPS and asking the front desk at the previous hotel to confirm directions, we set off on our way. However, our GPS and directions didn't indicate that Highway 27 was flowing in one direction this day (west to east towards San Jose) and in the process of receiving several sets of directions from locals, became lost and emailed Thomas (owner) for help. He quickly responded, calling us and putting us in contact with Luis (aka roadadvisor) who helped guide us to our destination. It really helped turn a stressful situation around.

We arrived late the first night due to the driving issues, but fell asleep to the sounds of howler monkeys and were greeted the following morning to the sounds of howler monkeys and toucans. The view was amazing from our room and the daily breakfast was good.

Unfortunately I fell ill during our stay and we decided to cut our stay here short in an attempt to get closer to San Jose to try to get earlier flight home. Thomas and Cindy were very accomodating. They were also incredibly helpful prior to our arrival, recommending places to visit and tours to book.

Would recommend Tikivillas to those looking for some seclusion and want peace and quiet.

Who could ask for anything more? These beautiful villas are like living in a Frank Lloyd Wright house only the water is below you adjacent to a pristine beach. Wildlife is at your every turn. Breakfast is scrumptious...as are the cocktails (while relaxing in the infinity pool). Owner hosts, Thomas and Cindy and their staff set the standards high. What wonderful people and what a perfect experience. Absolute definition of la pura vida! Thank you Thomas and Cindy.

Room Tip: Lay back...this is paradise.

We stayed for 3 nights at TikiVillas. It was so fun to have our own bungalow in the jungle overlooking the ocean. The pool here is amazing as are the views from it. The owners Tom and Cindy were both very helpful. Irina, a new staff person, was excellent and extremely sweet as well. We felt very secluded. The outdoor shower was fun as well! You do need a 4x4 vehicle to access this place, and it is about a 5-10 minute drive to Uvita. You can walk down to the beach (abuot a 5-10 minute walk) though. Also, this hotel does not serve lunch or dinner, but you do have small kitchens in the rooms. We had an excellent stay--a great place for a jungle luxury experience at a good price.

Room Tip: We opted for A/C which was nice as it is humid and can get hot! All the rooms have a wonderful view.

I hate to be redundant, but also don't want to skip reviewing a place that has thought of everything. Not easy to pull off the 'luxury in the jungle' idea but this couple has done just that. Thomas is the most attentive host, and though I know he's fielded the same questions a thousand times about tours, places to see, things to do, he was always patient, friendly, and truly interested that we had the experiences we were looking for. He and Cindy are great at what they do.
Amazing breakfasts with fantastic service, impeccably clean and well appointed 'cabins', delightful setting. We loved having a coffee maker in the room and sitting on the private deck each morning watching the jungle come alive. We didn't think the fridge or the A/C were things we really needed but turned out they were great ammenities that helped us to feel totally pampered.
Our favorite stay :-)
