We first went to Los Troncos after a local told us they had some good "bocas"....we wanted a little snack after a day at the beach. We got a Chifrijo and Cevichè mixto (we had tried both of these at few other spots in "downtown" Uvita).
The cevichè was super fresh and and a great sized portion. Mi Esposa likes it a little spicy and they have a couple different salsas to try on it. Delicious.
The Chifrijo. We didn't expect much from a bowl of beans and rice and a little pork, having had this local "fast food" before. Soon after we ordered we could smell the meat cooking and knew it was made fresh and just for us. It came out in a big bowl with tons of fresh pico de gallo on top and garnished with at least half an avocado. Fantastic.
Our Imperials were FREEZING cold and hit the spot as we were a little sunburnt and surfed out.
Since this visit we have returned several times and ordered more cevichè, Arroz con Mariscos (huge portion with tons of fish, clams, mussells, & crab), Pasta con Mariscos ala Diavolo (spelling?) which was spicy and full of seafood, and a chicken ceasar salad.
All were made fresh for us & were excellent.
The restaurant is super clean and a beautifully built palapa style design with gorgeous logs supporting the roof.
They have fast & perfect wifi if you need to get on-line for any reason.
Nice big TV's so you can watch some futbol or music videos.
Mayra the bartender was super friendly and awesome....giving us some info about shopping nearby, answering my questions about Tico Futbol, etc. etc. We told her our names and she remembered us when we came back.
We tried to go for a Tico breakfast, but they don't open till 11. Not sure if this is everyday or not.
We'll be back. It's damn good.
