“Loved this place!”

We had such a great time here! The Casita was perfect for my husband and I. Rachel and Steve were very kind and welcoming. We loved the river, and had a beautiful view from our porch. The hike up to the waterfall was a lot of fun. It is also easy to drive into town from their home. We highly recommend staying here! Everything was fantastic, and no disappointments.

“Relaxation off the beaten path!”
Reviewed 12 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

GREAT experience! Rachel and Steve were fantastic hosts with great stories to tell and their recommendations on local restaurants/excursions were spot on. The casitas are definitely off the beaten trail, but it is an oasis worth the drive. It was amazingly relaxing whether it was hiking along the river, watching shows on our tablet at night when it was raining, or reading out on the patio. Uvita and Bahia are the closest towns and great to spend time in. Playa Uvita, the closest beach, is unbelievable. It is a National Park, so it is untouched. Sloths, macaws, dolphins, whales, and an ocean like bath water!

“Relaxing in Natures Paradise”

Just returned from an enjoyable & memorable 3 weeks in Costa Rica where we stayed with Rachel & Steven at the delightful Casitas Del Rio near Uvita.
Casitas Del Rio offers independent, spacious quality accommodation, set in a wonderful landscape overlooking a river & the jungle. Here you will wake up in the morning to the sound of the river, the cries of the howler monkey & to the sights of colourful birds & butterflies. No aircraft, no traffic noise, no music.
The location is ideal for exploring the coastal area ranging from Jaco in the North down to Drakes Bay in the South & surrounding mountains. You are adjacent to the Whales Tail where we enjoyed some fantastic whale watching & you are spoilt for choice when it comes to eating out be it breakfast or evening meal.
At all time Rachel & Steven are on hand to help & assist in making your stay enjoyable.

RECOMMENDED PLACES TO VISIT/THINGS TO DO
Whale Watching - Sept / Oct see the humpback whales with their young
Topolandia - Very interesting
Sierpe Mangrove boat trip - See the cayman & many birds

“Fantastic location, Wow wow wow”

It is very hard to give this place justice. I stayed at Casitas Del Rio and researched the place online before hand. It looked beautiful online and was out of this world in real life. Steven and Rachel where great hosts from the moment I arrived to the moment I left, almost 3 weeks later. They provided informative information about the local attractions and places to visit and good restaurants. The gardens were outstanding with a vast variety of plants that attracted all the wild life but across the scenic Morete river is pure thick jungle where the sounds of the Howler monkies echoed around the valley each morning. I had humminig birds right in front of me and on one day Rachel called me over to see a sloth crawling on the floor to its next tree. The river on days is crystal blue and I had the rare opportunity to view a river otter. I spent a few days reading on my balcony with the beautiful sounds of the jungle as a back drop and watched the sun set over the trees. On the days I ventured out I went to the local beaches which are a short drive of 5 minutes and all the local amenities where also available there for anything I needed to cook a meal on the evening. My Casita was called the Macaw suit and was immaculately clean, and modern, it also had a smoothy maker, grill, coffee maker, microwave, cooler for the beach, mini bar and everything you need to cook meals. Great value, best location in the area and friendly hosts,To conclude I really didn't want to go home. And will be back.

“Peaceful retreat in the jungle along a refreshing river, yet only minutes from the Costanera Sur Hwy”
Reviewed 25 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

It's clear from the moment you interact with Rachel and Steve, that they know how and take pride in how they manage their vacation rental casitas. As everyone has already stated, the location is wonderfully situated next to Rio Morete, and near enough to the main town center. Rachel and Steve welcomed us on arrival day with a tour of the property, showed us our room and then served us ice cold beers and snacks. Wow! What a welcome, considering we had just drove 2.5 hours from the south. The casita was small, but had everything that we needed. We especially liked the cold beverages for purchase in the mini fridge. Unexpected for a casita vacation rental. Also, a nice touch was the information booklet that Rachel put together with a list of restaurants and activities in the Uvita and general coastal area. Very comprehensive detailed information.
The premises are beautifully landscaped and inviting. You'll want to have your morning coffee or evening wine on the deck overlooking the river. Just to sit in silence watching the varieties of birds and wildlife visitors was a daily treat.
We loved casitas so much, we've already decided we are coming back.
Thank you Rachel and Steve for making our stay so memorable!

“Paradise - stay here”
Reviewed 6 August 2015 for a stay in June 2015

The Casitas are beautiful, calming pieces of paradise and the welcome from Steve and Rachel just adds to the feeling that this place is special. Every morning there I lost track of time just sitting on the balcony watching the different hummingbirds of every colour and size. We also saw a sloth and two toucans in the garden. The river or Rio is also a lovely place to sit and cool off when it gets hotter. Can't wait to go back.

“The best accomodation what we had in Costa Rica!”
Reviewed 30 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Beautifully, modernly and clean furnished private houses in a beautiful garden with blooming wild river. Every morning we were welcomed by hummingbirds flying around us. Every place and corner there is very relaxing - small paradise! The owners Rachel and Steve are really nice and helpful couple. Casitas Del Rio was the best place and accomodation we had in Costa Rica, we had great relaxing time there. (we were sleeping on many different places in whole country).
Thank you Rachel and Steve, next time in Costa Rica we will go to your place!
