“Adriatic gem”
Reviewed 8 September 2013

The hotel is really nice- newly refubrished, modern and clean. AV works perfectly, which is not a case in most Croatian hotels. I liked the view to Korcula island from the room and big open terrace for breakfast. Big plus is the location: it's right on the beach! It's not a resort type of the hotel, so it's surrounded by mediterrian forrest. Orebić town is 10 minutes walk. Free parking and free WiFi is somthing the other hotels should consider to. Staff speak great english, friendly and willing to help.
Food is simple but tasty- we liked adriatic squides on grill.

Prices in the bar are reasonable.... Great starting point of many interesting daytrips: we visited Kocula, Mljet, Badija, and Loviste

Room Tip: seaview room is a must. incredeble view

I have a great time at this hotel. It is all inclusive and a lot of outings to be had, you can walk to the sea port fort boats to the other islands, the food is great, lots of selections, the pool is big. The staff are very nice just one staff who refuses to try my requet for a mix drink that is not on the list even if I have to pay for it. Just be prepared to see half naked sunbathers not so nice and old men in speedos. Definitely a family hotel.Loved it.

Room Tip: This place is very quiet at night, the view is spectacular and best of all it is all inclusive and...

Higly recomended for families!
Fresh, modern and clean hotel with friendly service and good food. Location is big plus. Located on the sandy beach with pine forest providing shade, we spent whole days there. Outside pool and animation for kids is an advantage, as well as evening kids programmes.
Stayed there this summer for the first time, will be back for sure.

Room Tip: Ask for sea view room!

It's not worth 4 stars this hotel. The food was tasteless, the room was clean but the bathroom was to small for a 4 stars hotel, the staff was sometimes to rude. I don't recommend the ALL INCLUSIVE package. You have to pay for a cafe (if you want to have one in the evening), or for a martini or even for a glass of water with lemon. And if you ask for a glass of water to take it into the room at 11:05 p.m. they said that the bar is close ( the bar is open until 11:00 pm) and you cant have it, even if they wore there. I will never go back there.

Hotel has a great location, by the sea overlooking island of korcula. Rooms are clean and spacious. Food is terrible, cheap hotel food with no taste. Avoid all inclusive. Staff is rude, I came down to hotel bar at 7:55 in the morning to get coffee and the only thing I was told when I approached the bar was "at 8" meaning that the bar was opening at 8.

I am currently staying at this hotel. The service from the reception staff at the front desk is unfriendly and the air conditioning does not work properly. It was on 28 degrees last night and nobody would come to help us in turning the temp down. It was clearly broken. After complaining we have been told that the manager wont speak to us. The staff keep tellling us that we have set the temp high. After speaking to other guests in the lobby and us making a fuss it appeared that most guests are having the same problem. The staff are very lazy and rude. We wont be back.

We just got back from a week of not thinking and blissful relaxation in beautiful Croatia and the Grand Hotel Orebic exceeded our expectations. Our room was big enough, clean and had a great balcony view (we upgraded to "junior sea view suite") over the pool and the coast out to Korcula. We were therefore on the noisier side of the hotel, but we didn't find the music in the evenings intrusive, and it was always quiet by around 11pm. Anyway we were all so tired and chilled by that time in the evening that we were sound asleep, including our children aged 9 and 5. The air conditioning kept the room cool overnight and we slept really well. I agree with some other reviewers that getting up to "bag a sunbed" at 6am is a little irritating, but that's the game you have to play. The restaurant was spacious and well-served, with a range of fresh, healthy food options everyday. No chips at all - hoorah! There were some funny offerings when leftovers were re-made into other things - we avoided the sprout bake, but the refried courgettes were delicious. Our children ate really well trying different things because they were on offer. Deep fried squid was a particular favourite!

The weather was very hot and sunny - not a cloud all week, with a warm breeze blowing up most afternoons. The pool area is well designed and generally clean, though on the day after the Croatian bank holiday we noticed it was grubbier than usual. The sea with its little beach of small pebbles is literally steps away from the hotel, and the town of Orebic and a range of other facilities - restaurants, other hotels, bank, post office, ferry to Korcula - were all within a 10-15 minute walk.

The all-inclusive drinks were absolutely fine - I drank the chilled red wine they serve there as the white was too sweet, and my husband stuck to beer, and rum and coke. The all-inclusive deal offered ice-creams, soft drinks and biscuits for the children and they enjoyed the freedom of being able to roam around the relatively small complex (there is a tiny playground, a volleyball area and some small wooded spaces if you need to get out of the sun).

We had one problem with our car hire (booked completely separately) and the staff at the hotel couldn't have been more sympathetic and helpful. We are not experienced at the all-inclusive option but based on this holiday we would definitely do it again.

Room Tip: Most rooms did not have a balcony - upgrade to ensure you get one for drying towels and sitting out...
