“What can one say?”

This place really is as good as claimed in the previous reviews, and there are so many complementary things written that it's tempting to think: "why bother with yet another encomium?". But even if one can't be original, a place this good deserves acknowledgement.
Chantal and Jean-Francois are peerless hosts, and experts at making visitors feel like guests in their home, rather than mere patrons of their business. It's also a credit to them that the place has a special pace and atmosphere that makes it somewhere worth staying several, even many days - also justified by Agen and its environs, which are delightful, especially the many, many good restaurants.
The essentials - comfort, cleanliness, hospitality, tranquility and value - are all excellent, added to which are large measures of consideration, flexibility, organisation, character and local knowledge, and superb breakfasts. Rooms are exceptional and facilities (gym, pool, wi-fi, spacious grounds, etc, etc) very comprehensive. Value is so good that we thought it under-priced.
Perfect? Of course not! But areas for improvement are quibbling: shower trays are slippery; macerator toilets are noisy (imagine a wood chipper in your bathroom ... definitely not romantic!); rustic walls shed a fine dust; guest laundry facilities would be a nice touch.
Overall: sensational; definite recommend; definite revisit

Room Tip: All are outstanding, but rooms at the front are south facing, so light, and have a great view over t...

Jean Francois and Chantal have done an amazing job restoring this lovely 17C chateau, about a mile up a private drive, set up on a ridge looking out over the valley and surrounded by ancient trees, including two 250 year old magnolia grandiflora and a vast tulip tree. The rooms are huge, light and airy, (we stayed in Cotton, furnished with jazz memorabilia) and we really enjoyed our 'historical tour' with Jean Francois. There is an easy 3/4 hr walk around the grounds. Breakfast was sensational, home made plum compote and yoghurt with extra fruit, eggs au choix, and more croissants than we could manage. We felt more like friends than guests and quite understand why people return here. They lived in England for six years, but allowed us to practise our french! The only minor (very minor) inconvenience is having to drive into Agen for dinner, only about 15 minutes, but a bit of a bore after a day on the road, and, anyway, it's SO nice sitting outside with a glass of wine at the chateau!

Jean-Francois and Chantel could not have been kinder and more helpful. A French couple, fluent in English. The breakfast is absolutely fantastic. The surroundings are extremely peaceful. A beautifully refurbished chateau to the highest spec. Highly recommend.

We mirror everything that has been said before. Jean François & Chantle are world class hosts who make you feel very comfortable while pampering you like crazy while leaving you to enjoy a relaxing & peaceful holiday. Breakfast was amazing, rooms are beautiful, large and comfortable, grounds are stunning and pool very comfortable. We also used the bikes for a long ride along the canel and Jean François could not have been more helpful with the drop off and pick-up. We loved it. Thank you Jean Francois & Chantel. Keep up the great work!

If you are looking for the ultimate bucolic, away from the madding crowd, experience you will find it here. Jean-Francois and Chantal are the best hosts you will ever find. The chateau exudes history and charm. The rooms are themed, with accompanying furniture and quirky details. The breakfasts are to die for. Home-made yogurts, jams, the lightest croissants, eggs and bacon cooked to your taste, freshly-squeezed orange juice and more. We did not need lunch during our six day stay. Our hosts, and their daughter, organised a memorable 50th birthday dinner for twelve and the food was exceptional. There is plenty to do in the area but, ensconced in the garden by the pool, with a book and chilled white wine to hand, proved ultimately too tempting to resist. We will return.

Room Tip: All the rooms are exceptional.

What a magical place. Amazing surrounding gardens and the hosts are so friendly and treat you like family. The pool is sparkling clean and the breakfasts are just delicious - best baguettes we had in France, freshly squeezed orange juice, home made yoghurt with strawberry puree. Yum! We felt like royalty for the 2 days we stayed there, just stunning!

It is impossible to fault this B&B. Everything said below is true. All that I can add is Jean Francoise gave us 4 high quality bikes to ride along the canal for a day. It was stunning. When we couldn't make it up the last hill he cheerfully drove his van down and picked us up. If you want to stay in your own private castle with fresh home made food then it is impossible to miss this experience.
