The hotel is an old coaching house dating back a few hundred years, smack in the centre of the mediaeval walled town of Langres (built inevitably on top of a hill) - 3.5 Km of 30 metre high walls around the town, nice walk round the battlements. Langres is a sensible place to stop en route to/from e.g. the alps if you don't fancy the 750 mile drive in 1 go.
The hotel itself isn't very special - rather dated decor etc, but very clean and comfortable, friendly staff - you could stay in a modern motel 3 miles out of town for much the same price - but why would you do that? We didn't eat there - we went exploring - but the hotel is a Logi, which usually means excellent food at reasonable prices.
The old coaching stables provide secure off-street parking over night (4 euros charge).
We had our dog with us, no problem (5 euro supplement).More
