“well worth visiting”
Reviewed 29 May 2014

whilst this restaurant is on the seafront the dining area id slightly below street level. This at first does not look very attractive and it would be too easy to walk on by. But you go up a flight of stairs and then back down into a sort of semi cellar which is beautifully set out and very smartly presented. The menu was primarily sea food and the service, presentation and quality was excellent. We found the staff very kind and helpfull
So highly recommended

“Typically French”
Reviewed 26 May 2014

Very good restaurant almost next door to the Atlantic hotel. They specialise in fish meals and we had Soupe de Poisson followed by the Fish Marmite (pronounced marmeet) which is a mixed fish stew. Absolutely delicious. Service was very good.

“Busy restaurant frequented by locals”
Reviewed 7 May 2014

Food very good, packed out which was a surprise for a Monday evening, their sourdough rolls delicious, could have just eaten them (made on the premises). Known for its sea food and judging by other tables it was what everyone ordered. We seemed to be the only non-French so that gives it a serious thumbs up.

“Excellent food & service”
Reviewed 5 May 2014 via mobile

As we were near Wimeraux, we booked Sunday lunch based on reviews in Tripadvisor. We were certainly not disappointed. The restaurant is just off the promenade and after a pleasant stroll we were the first to arrive at about 12-10pm. By 12-30 it was absolutely full - clearly mainly regulars from nearby.
I had the Menu at 33E. As a starter I chose the taster plate of seafood - it included 3 bulot, 2 large prawns, 2 excellent oysters, a langoustine and a handful of grey shrimps - worth coming for in its own! Main was a faux-filet with a cheese sauce and matchstick chips. Again delicious - my rare steak had been properly rested so no hint of pink in the sauce.
The cheese was all local and came with lovely brown rolls. I chose apple crumble for dessert: served with true vanilla ice cream it finished the meal beautifully.
My wife (who hates cheese but loves rabbit) ate from the 26E menu, choosing a delicious fish soup followed by rabbit with plum sauce which she voted the best rabbit dish in 20 years. Her tarte tatin was served with ice cream rather than creme fraiche at our request, with no fuss.
Service was friendly and courteous, and at about 3 hours for the meal and coffee it felt just right - this is not 'fast food'.
We do have sufficient French to be polite and to resolve any minor points, but the one other English table seemed to be well cared for despite using 'hand signals ' to make up for an apparent lack of French.
Including a demi of wine, aperitifs and coffee the bill was just 90E - what a bargain for a sumptuous afternoon!
