We stayed for 2 nights at the beginning of July and what a find! The outside of the house is very unassuming but as the front door is opened and you are welcomed in by the charming young owners a whole new world opens up through the entrance hall (with table and chairs which you are welcome to use) onto a patio with seating and a sunken garden with sunbeds for the guests to use too.
All the bedrooms are completely individually decorated and they are all full of character. Check other reviews. We stayed in room 2 which was open plan to en-suite facilities, giving a real sense of space, great shower which was screened off and separate wc. We stayed during a heat wave and a huge bonus were the exterior electronic blackout blinds which were operated by the flick of a switch next to the bed. We slept so well.
The bedroom (room 2) is spacious and there are two comfortable chairs, dressing table, plenty of plug sockets, hairdryer, water, tea and coffee, a bench at the end of the bed which was useful and it has been so thoughtfully decorated in shades of grey it was just a pleasure to be there.
This residence has been lovingly and painstakingly refurbished by the owners themselves over several years and the attention to detail is quite 'out of a magazine'. Which it actually is - as it has been featured in many magazine articles over the last year or so, proof of which are there clearly marked for your perusal.
The breakfasts are just stunning - organic for a start - a selection of breads, homemade jams, and that's just for starters, each day a different type of individual platter arrived and later a 'surprise' (one day a warm dark chocolate cake with gooey centre was served with a little pot of baby strawberries in a little syrup with just a hint of mint!)...don't book lunch before mid afternoon!
We had breakfast on the upstairs terrace which has a sea view and as we were blessed with lovely weather it was great to eat outside. At the end of the day should you like to take a glass of your own beverage out into the garden the hosts are happy to provide any glassware required. They were also happy to recommend restaurants and even ring to book on our behalf.
There is ample free parking in the street outside and the seafront and shops are just a few minutes' walk away. The beaches are fabulous, stretching out a long way and as the tides move in and out you can watch people swimming and enjoying all sorts of water sports. Later in the evening we saw families picnicking on the sand and watched horse riders disappearing into the sunset!
