We enjoyed a splendid lunch here last October and vowed then we would come back to the hotel. This was the last night of a 3 week road trip that had seen us travel to Italy and back through France.

Lovely room overlooking the bay.

Unfortunately, and I was the only person in our party of 4 affected, dinner had an unpleasant affect.

We stayed at Les Tourelles through the recommendation of some friends. We can't thank them enough. From start to finish I could not fault our stay. We arrived on the Saturday morning, too early to check-in but they were very helpful and provided our parking permits (3 days at 3 euros per day). Parking may be a slight issue at busy times.
The hotel squeezed us in at short notice. The room was quite small but it was very clean, comfortable (lovely beds) and just right for a weekend. I would strongly recommend booking early and getting a seaview. The view of the bay is magnificent.
Breakfast was continental and traditionally French. A good healthy choice backed up with a naughty croissant.
We ate in the hotel restaurant on the Sunday night. Superb. The portions are not huge so don't skip the entrees or the desserts. The food was beautifully presented. Our english speaking waiter was very helpful, making sure we chose correctly. When you stay in Le Crotoy be prepared for menus to be very fishy. Shellfish a particular speciality.
We did a lot of cycling whilst we were there. If that is your choice of entertainment you won't be disappointed.
Take your phrase book and practice your French. Apart from our hotel waiter not a lot of english is spoken in the bars and restaurants.
We can't wait to go again.

Room Tip: Choose a seaview.

Dear Sir, Madam
Thank you for the consideration you've about our hotel and we are happy your stay here was wonderful..
The satisfaction of our customers is our priority so our staff want to be the most helpful by being at your service for recommandations and asks.
Our hotel, well located, is the ideal place to relax and to take advantage of the air with its sea view. Our beautiful region of "la Baie de Somme" is a place to discover and to discover again with its beautiful and different landscapes.
It will be a great pleasure for us to see you again and to make you discover our room with the sea view.
Best regards.

We first visited Le Crotoy and the beautiful Baie de Somme at the end of a two-week camping and cycling trip last October and ate at Les Tourelles. The location, the seafood and the service were amazing so we resolved to return and have just spend two nights there, which were sadly disappointing.

The good news: it is a really brilliant location and the building is stunning. Our room was quite small and without a bay view but it was clean and up to a good standard; the booking was easy and the welcome was friendly, including some help in storing our touring bikes.

The bad news: the food was nothing like as good as it had been last year; there were very limited choices for my wife (who eats seafood but no meat); and considering it is premium priced, we were disappointed and ate much better elsewhere, often for quite a bit less (particularly in some of the chambers d'hotes we stayed in during this trip).

It's a great place for an aperitif and to watch the stunning sunsets over the bay but not at all the experience we had anticipated. Disappointed, especially as we had planned for this as a centrepiece for our trip.

Room Tip: Make sure to ask for a bay view - it will cost a little more but the views really are fantastic

Dear Sir, Madam, thank you for the consideration you’ve about our hotel .
Our rooms don’t have the same surface and so don’t have the same price. Of course, if we’ve the pleasure to see you again, we will advice you about our rooms and give you a bigger room with the sea view, if we have disponibilities of course. We advice our customers to book this kind of room as soon as possible.
About our food, it is fresh and local food so we are so sorry about this problem. Of course, we take in consideration your remarks , to improve ourselves.
We hope to see you again in our establishment . Best regards.

First of all, this personnel deserves a big thumbs up all the way for their very friendly service , we stayed in les Tourelles for two nights (we had supper there twice) with three couples. The kitchen, especially the fish, was excellent (apart from one exception: the mediocre lamb filet in the first evening). Breakfast is good but nothing spectacular. The rooms (including bathroom) were very comfortable (one advice: the rooms 1,2,3,4 are opposite the church: the bell tolls at 7 o'clock in the morning). No problem for the early risers but the rest will suffer. No doubt in our minds: we will be back here (not only for the stunning view)

Room Tip: choose the front rooms in this hotel

We had a good few chats on the phone with the hotel explaining that we like as large a bed as they can provide and accepted a twin put together.

On arrival the bedroom was small beyond belief and smelt of a cleaning polish / vegetable cooking blend that was not conducive. We struggled to get this this across to the reception team (my wife is fluent) but they helpfully were able (March 17th so not peak booking period) offered a new room on the top floor - view to die absolutely, for as was the mattress with a small bed so my wife ended up on the single bed.

Breakfast - some organic local items but very very ordinary with coffee in flasks some distance from the time of brewing

Le Crotoy is delightful

Room Tip: Call in advance and be sure you are getting exactly what you want

We've stayed here before, simply because the hotel is in a stunning position overlooking the estuary. This time our room had been entirely renovated and was clean, well-appointed, fresh and of course had the wonderful view of the vast tidal plain of the Baie de la Somme. Sadly the food was so uninspiring that you have to think the hotel relies solely on its position without having to make much further effort to attract customers. Certainly much of the decor in the public spaces like the reception area, lobbies and stairwells was a cross between charity shop chic and a day nursery. There is a faded charm about the place, but it could do much better.

Room Tip: You must overlook the sea.

I was a little bit wary of this hotel as it had such a poor rating on tripadvisor, but was beside myself when we finally reached it (this is our last stop after travelling all day from the Charente on the way home). The hotel is in a fantastic position overlooking the bay and looks very impressive from outside. Inside it has an old faded seaside look with lots of wood and comfy chairs. When the receptionist explained that our room was not in the main hotel but in an annexe my heart dropped and I thought "and here lies the rub..." She led us through the restaurant and down stairs (heart dropping more now) and through a walled herb garden to a cobbled courtyard where through an entrance of stained glass was our room! Fabulous bathroom, beautiful wooden furniture, great comfy bed and lo and behold a wooden staircase leading to another level with 2 single beds for the children! We didn't eat in the restaurant as I thought it looked a bit pricey and couldn't see a formule on offer, so dinner was eaten out at one of the many nearby restaurants and meant that we could return to the hotel via the beach at night which was a highlight for me but then as 17 year old daughter says "you are obviously easily pleased mum". We did pop into the bar for a nightcap (top tip, a can of coke is 3 euros 90 whilst a good glass of sauvignon is 3 euros 20). We all loved this hotel it felt like a real treat and we plan to come back next year, I'm just going to tell Junior that they don't serve coke anymore!

Room Tip: Can accommodate a family of 4
