La Bastide de Brurangere

I write quite a few reviews on Tripadvisor because I like to share my experiences good and bad to try and help other fellow travelers. I am almost hesitant to share my thoughts on this absolutely stunning home for fear that it will become so popular that we will find it hard to book in another stay here! I travel extensively both for work and for pleasure and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that this is the best overall experience I have had staying in any hotel or B&B, including many 5 star hotels I have had the opportunity to stay in. I would HIGHLY recommend this home to anyone out there searching for the perfect spot in Provence. It is close to everything you would want to see (a short drive from Avignon, Chateneuf-Du- Pape, Gordes, Roussilon, etc.), yet situated in an extremely peaceful and idyllic setting overlooking the owner's 12 acre vineyard. On the topic of the owner, Catherine is the sweetest, most generous of hosts and so is her sister. From the moment we arrived and throughout our stay they could not have done more to make us feel more welcome. From sharing a glass of rose with us in their beautiful courtyard on our first night to serving us a fantastic breakfast to us in the same courtyard in the mornings and everything in between, our stay was too short but still very special. The decor and the finishes in their home are outstanding, Catherine has impeccable taste and a very keen eye for design. Our room was the Vassols, not one of her larger suites, but absolutely beautiful and very large on its own. Catherine also showed me one of her suites and I was just blown away. The beds are also extremely comfortable, which is a priority for me because I have fibromyalgia. In the air conditioned room and quiet surroundings, it was like sleeping on a cloud! They have thought of every little detail to make your stay comfortable and a very memorable one. A mini- bar fridge that is stocked with reasonably priced drinks, a little coffee and tea maker with treats that get replenished every day, fluffy bathrobes, the most luxuriously soft and monogrammed bath towels, slippers....the list goes on and on!! The 2 pools overlook their vineyards and are delightful and extremely relaxing, it was very difficult for us to leave this place just to do some sightseeing. Do yourself a favour and book a stay in this piece of paradise and you will be talking about it for years to come. Merci Beaucoup to you Catherine and to your sister (and your adorably sweet dog "Bounty") for giving us a memory we will cherish forever. Xxoo

Room Tip: All rooms are just stunning, so you can't go wrong with any of them.

We spent 3 nights at the unforgettable Bastide de Brurangère during our week in Provence and didn't want to leave. The property is stunning and no expense has been spared; all 5 rooms are enormous and furnished to the highest standard. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome by Catherine, who could not do enough to make us feel as home. We particularly enjoyed the glass of rosé we were offered on our first night before going out to dinner (produced on the estate, of course). Breakfast was copious and delicious and consisted of freshly-squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit and fresh croissants, bread and brioche as well as homemade jams. There is also no shortage of dinner options, depending on how far you are prepared to drive. The best meal we had was at l'Oustalet in Gigondas (about a 40-minute drive), followed closely by Le Grand Pré (about an hour away) in Roaix, but Catherine had lots of recommendations closer to the bastide. We would go back in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: Unless you go for a suite, choose the Chambre Vassols rather than the Chambre Mazan as it is on the...

After a few days in Cannes, what a relief escaping to Mazan to the Bastide de Brurangere! The owner welcomed us like family and we could choose our room - We choose the Mont Ventoux suite which was absolutely beautiful - The attention of detail was extraordinary - What an amazing experience ! We got great restaurant recos right next to the Bastide - We loved staying close to Mayan vs Gordes which is where we stayed in the past because it feels much more authentic (Gordes is getting sooo touristic!) - You are right in the vineyards and with a beautiful view on the mont ventoux - A must!!! Wanted to go back end of July but already booked!!!
