“History in a modernized setting”
Reviewed 15 May 2012

Dating back to at least 1601, the little hamlet of Hullias is a fascinating place. Renovated into a B&B still run by Jacky and Francois it is a beautiful place to stay while touring the Orange area. In the country, it's quiet at night and offers great views during the day. The vineyard at the bottom of the hill offers nice table wines, organically produced, and there's a multitude of great wineries in the area. Jacky and Francois are welcoming hosts who are easy to get to know. They have put together a nice little book of all the places to see and things to do in the area. All the reviews below are correct. It's a great place.

Room Tip: There is an upstairs suite with a living area, "6 deniers", that has great views.

We just spent 4 days at the Clos d'Hullias for my 50th birthday. We were a group of 20 people and rented the 3 houses with their 2 swimming pools. We all had a really wonderful time. The houses have been renovated with taste. The setting is idyllic and the views breathtaking. Really the perfect setting for any kind of getaway ! Jacky and Françoise are fantastic hosts. The breakfast was wonderful – all bio products. Heaven on Earth!

60 KM to the Norhtwest of Avignon, just over the Rhone River, you'll find Clos d'Hullias. Offering three separate houses on the grounds, hosts Jacky and Francios provide the opportunity for visitors to utilize them as 'your own home.' All houses have been modernized and have dishwasher and washing machines. Activites range from sitting around one of the two pools, to winery visits, to horseback riding, to hunting - wild boars abound. Truly a treasure.

Clos d'Hullias is a remarkable place that is very rustic and beautiful but has all the mordern conveniences for a long stay. The common areas with the two swimmming pools were great place to relax, drink the local wine, and take in the views. The scenery is wonderful.

Jackie and Francois are very nice hosts and are very accommodating. They speak very good English.

I felt like I was in the setting of a romance novel. An old vineyard renovated into a unique and private B&B comprised of different sized houses and complete with pristine swimming pools and emaculate grounds. A "must see to believe".
