“Family Eating at a reasonable cost, but not without issues”
Reviewed 6 January 2014

We went with a party of 7 people on a Saturday for lunch. All except myself had the buffet starter, followed by either roast lamb chops or strip steak. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food, and wouldn't hesitate on going back. I, however, took the more expensive menu, with a crab starter and Turbot main course. The crab was a tin of crab turned upside-down on a bed of cucumber, and was completely flavourless. The Turbot must have been roasted with the lamb, and was completely ruined. It was served with a block of vegetable rice, that was supposed to be risotto, but came as a leaden lump! We all had deserts, and all liked them. The raspberry 'tiramisu' was lovely! I did complain about my food, which is unusual, as I usually vote with my feet. But, the others had enjoyed it so much, the fair thing to do was point out the short-comings of my food.

Room Tip: This isn't a Michelin restaurant. So, the more expensive menus are not worth it. Go with the buf...

Nice clean hotel with modern rooms. Very friendly staff (at least the english speaking lady).

The pool and the pool area was maybe not up to same standard as the rest.

The city (Saint Aygulf) was a bit of a dissapoinment. Looks like something built for tourists, compared to ie. St Maxime.

We chose the hotel as it seemed like a good deal in terms of price and services, also as they have a private parking which seemed to be hard to come by on the Riviera!
It has a great location only a few minutes' walk from the seafront (next street down). There are small pebble beaches there. On arrival we had a very warm welcome at Reception by Candice, who gave us clear explanations on breakfast times, how the safe in the room works, wifi password, bar by pool, etc. Wifi also worked in our room which is great, but it may not work in all rooms we were told.
Room was nicely (and by the looks of it quite recently) decorated, bathroom as well, had a great walk-in shower! Has safe and a small fridge, bathrobes too. Room has air conditioning as well.
Sister hotel's beach bar/restaurant (Bleu et Blanc) is approx 15-20 mins walk away on the sandy beach, had a lovely dinner there (we had Ceasar Salad and the burger, both big portion and very delicious!), lovely setting by the beach, great service, definitely recommended! There are many more restaurants in that area as well.
Breakfast in the hotel offered a wide variety of breads, pastries, cheeses, cold cuts, salamis, jams, yoghurt, fruits. Also scrambled eggs and bacon.
Pool area also nice, family-friendly with sun loungers and parasols are provided.
All the staff were friendly and helpful, we had a lovely stay there and would definitely recommend it to anyone.
