“Love the View”
Reviewed 4 June 2012

I really enjoyed staying at these apartments. Ours was the one on the right as you walk into the patio. It was much more spacious than I anticipated, although the loft was a bit small..especially for my significant other! The patio off the loft was very nice as well. However, the view off the balcony was hindered by power lines. If you wanted an unobstructed view, you would need to go across the street to one of those hotels (off the cliff) and pay MUCH MUCH more. So for the price, this place with the view was a steal. The staff was amazing and very kind! The breakfast was great and they had antipasti for the late afternoon as well, which was very nice. The only down side was during our stay, they were doing work across the street which led to it being very noisy in the mornings...which was ok since we are early birds anyways! Also, there was a lot of noise with traffic and the garbage truck which woke us up from time to time. Our apartment was adjacent to a side street, so we probably heard more noise than maybe the other apartments. The walls were a bit thin, so it was easy to hear others...but again-these are all minor things! We truly the stay very much!

Nice, small hotel in very quiet village. The only down side was the size of the queen bed in the loft bedroom - a king bed would fit and would have been more comfortable for two. Breakfasts were very good (chocolate croissants, boiled eggs, ham and cheese sandwich, fruit plate, yogurt - very substantial. Recommendations for restaurants were very good - Anoti (anoy-ee) was so good we ate there twice. This retaurant is just around the corner from he hotel.

We have just returned from a fabulous holiday in Imerovigli to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday. I was a little concerned re the apartment as the price for a week seemed very reasonable compared to others but they were beyond our expectations. Fabulous views especially from balcony and wonderfully decorated.
The breakfasts tasty, especially the warm chocolate croissant. Roula & Kostas wonderful hosts, nothing to much trouble, their recommendations for restaurants and trips spot on.
Our apartment was kept clean and tidy throughout our stay,
Highly recommended if you're planing a visit to see the fantastic sunsets of Santorini.

The studios are definitely in the best part of the island for the sunsets; right next to some very exclusive apartments/hotels which cost a fortune. Roula and Costas went out of their way to make our stay very comfortable; they were always very friendly and helpful; nothing was too much trouble. Their recommendations for restaurants were really helpful; La Maison was amazing - overlooking the caldera, serving delicious food at reasonable prices. Rooms were spotless and cleaned everyday and breakfasts were huge -there was no need to eat until the evening. Overall we felt it was excellent value for money and we'll definitely be back!

Raulo and Costas the two "hosts" here made our stay at an ordinary apartment ..extraordinary. No request for guidance or advice was too much effort ..Being called Phillipe Power as opposed to Philip Powell on the Taxi card when we arrived brought a smile to our faces the moment we cleared the airport arrivals. Be warned it is a very exciting journey this time of year dodging buses scooters people and quad bikes through the bustling streets of Thira , nonetheless very short 15-20 mins, anytime night or day pick up is available. We were asked if we would like a drink on arrival ..iced coffees and marble cake..and fruit and a quick summary of the resorts restaurants were given hand drawn on a printed map. A walk into Thira is a gentle walk of around 30 mins at a leisurely pace..with lots of photo opportunities along the way. The path runs paralell to the main road with a number of restuarants and bars along the way. There are just a couple or so in Imerovigli itself.
The apartment block is situated in a "normally" quiet cul de sac with about 5 other hotels/suites around , there's a supermarket 50 metres away. I say "normally" as in the height of the season the garbage truck arrives twice a day 7 am and 6 pm quite close by its a bit of a shock but over in about 5 mins , otherwise sitting eating breakfast from the rooftop balcony makes the comings and goings quite an entertainment. The loft bedroom has quite a low ceiling but once you bang your head once you don't do it again!!
Complimentary wine on arrival was also a nice touch. The showers are mixer type and take a little expertise in setting up but are adequate . kitchen only had hotplate ring and sink but a decent size fridge was all we needed!!! Lounge downstairs would sleep another two children and there was plenty of wardrobe/cupboard space and safe.
Breakfast were amazing ..and excessive ..for us choice of eggs, bread, cake, fruit, the thickest greek yoghurt we've ever had, tea coffee, cheese ham toastie , chocolate croisant, traditional cheese puff , orange juice, jams and honey.....but you could just order want you want fancied day by day.
Roula and Costas were around until midday and back again around 6 for booking of restaurants, advice, trips ..always with personal local recommendations.
The room style is old fashioned but always clean and well maintained. Wifi worked well when it did work ..Mobile reception ok too.
Being on the top of the hill you get views east and west sunrise and sunset and a good breeze most of the time. Pool was clean and refreshing. Bus service was en route to Oia so well serviced, about 500 metres from apartments, theres a back alley way thats less frightening than the street !!!
Turnover of guests was high but normally at reasonable times of day.
Lastly once again it has to be said it was the helpfullness and attitude of Roula and Costas that made the trip a cut above anything we expected and normally get.
Philip and Cheryl

The service at this hotel was awesome. They will pick you up from the port, fed us the best breakfast of the 3 hotels that we stayed at and gave us gifts when we left. They also gave us a bottle the wine which was nice. You do though have to pay for the view if you want it. The hotel, for the price, was awesome! I'd recommend it for sure.

An absolute Gem of a hotel and the people who run it are so incredibly nice! Awesome Sunset view and cute rooms. Highly recommend it for the price, location, scenery and the people who work there. Next time we are in Santorini we most certainly will stay again at the Merovigliosso!! The room right next to the office has the best sunset view and a cute little balcony to watch it from.

Room Tip: Ask for the room right next to their office
