Our first visit to Tasos was after a late flight so it was great to be able to take a very short walk from our accommodation (Meli Meli). We continued to eat here throughout our stay because it just felt so authentic and the owners are very welcoming. Elena is a perfect hostess and is always willing to recommend a dish. Her husband runs the kitchen on his own so please don't expect fast food or fine dining. It's all homemade and they use ingredients from their garden. The tomato balls are amazing (thank you for the recipe!) and the pork on the spit was so tasty and tender. We never had a disappointing meal. Greek music night is Thursday and is well worth a visit. Elena's father in law gets the guests clapping and you may even see some plate smashing! We ate a couple of times on the caldera but this was our favourite place. You can even watch the sunset behind the restaurant. Elena - thank you for our beautiful souvenier. We hope to return with our two boys soon !
