I must first echo what the vast majority of reviewers say about this hotel. It is beautifully designed, clinging to the cliffs of the caldera overlooking the Aegean Sea with its phenomenal sunsets. The staff are friendly and go to extreme lengths to respond to guests' requests and concerns. Especially deserving of a mention is the front desk manager Hornella, whose personal attention and concern for our well being and overall enjoyment helped make our stay a great success.
This was our second trip, the first having been arranged by a travel agent. When we arrived we were told that we were the second guests of the season and so our room had been upgraded to a superior room. Although small, the view of the Aegean was something we never tired of and matched the room we stayed in the first time, and that was the very reason we had returned. However we also realised that, if we had not had that unexpected upgrade, we might not have had a room with the view that had brought us back. I think that in future it would be worth making a phone call to the hotel to confirm that our expectations would be met. Better that than disappointment on arrival.
For any prospective guests with mobility issues, be warned, the pathway up the cliff to the nearest taxi pick up point is about a fifteen minute walk. My wife had a hiking injury from the previous week and so any trip into Imerovigli took us about half an hour. Not the hotel's issue but one to be considered in the overall enjoyment of the holiday.
All in all we would return to Regina Mare.

We have just returned from a spectacular week based at the Regina Mare. Lovely staff, great breakfast, stunning views and sunset! Would come back again as our week was made special by the attentive staff and location. Great restaurants within walking distance including La Maison which delivered great food and views of the Caldera. Steps a little steep but we got fitter throughout the week! A little windy but no mosquitoes allowing us to sleep with the window open. Five stars. See you again!

Room Tip: It really does make a big difference to pay a little more to secure a better grade room which most h...

Just back from a week at the Regina Mare. Aside from the dreadful flights there and back, we had a fabulous holiday. This hotel has all the elements required to ensure you have a great stay. Wonderful staff, good food, great location. The steps are quite steep however to the hotel so mobility is key if you are considering staying here but there is a wonderful gentleman on hand to deal with the luggage on arrival and again departure so that side of things is not a worry thankfully!
The rooms are spotlessly clean, the only thing I would advise is if possible, do pay the extra for a superiorr room as they are larger, and, more importantly you have access to a lovely balcony, ensuring you of the fabulous views and the wonderful sunsets which are not to be missed!.

Overall, we had a lovely time and recommend that you stay here in a heartbeat!

Room Tip: Higher floors afford you the better views and the rooms are larger.

We stayed for a happy week at Regina Mare Hotel, and had a really good and pleasant time there. People at the hotel were very very friendly and helpful. They always smiled at us and talked to us very kindly, even came to our room to say goodbye on the day before we left. The hotel service was really good: kept our room very cleaned, folded our clothes and placed things in order, even washed plates. The breakfast were tasty, but you need to get up in a good time in order to try all kinds of food:-p. The view were just perfect! You can see the sunset from your window. The hotel was located in a very quite place, so it was very peaceful and pleasant place to enjoy your vacation. The only thing was that we did not receive good wi-fi signal inside our room, so we either went outside or stayed at the reception in order to receive wi-fi signal. In general, really good experience at this hotel! Strongly recommend it!

We stayed for a week at the Regina Mare Hotel, returning home earlier this week and had a wonderful time. From the start we were welcomed like old friends by the lovely staff. We were met at the top of the steps by the Manageress and a man who carried both our suitcases on his shoulders down the hill - he seemed to do all the maintenance work around the Hotel and never stopped! We stayed in a Superior Double room on the upper floor and had the most amazing views over the Caldera. Every night we sat out and watched the sunset from our balcony. We were advised we only had to ask if we needed anything and if we did it was always carried out cheerfully and nothing seemed to be any trouble. The breakfasts were delicious - especially the Greek yoghourt but there were home made pastries and savouries as well. We were sad to leave as we had relaxed so much and hope to return in the near future.

Room Tip: We had room 9 which wasn't huge but well equipped and always cleaned every day.

Just returned from a lovely week at the Regina Mare with my husband. The views were stunning, the sunsets amazing and the whole week was beautifully peaceful.
We really enjoyed the child free environment as we didn't have ours with us and it added to the peace.
Breakfasts were amazing and the staff friendly and helpful.
Be aware that there are alot of steps in and around the hotel and Imerovigli itself so you need to be mobile and fit.
The room we stayed in was rather small and very damp smelling and we had to run round in the shower to get wet!! This was the only let down of the week.
We probably won't go back to Santorini as we have sen it all but are glad we went.

Room Tip: Its an expensive place so don't expect value for money - the basic rooms are abit cramped like a...

After being advised by our travel agent our hotel booking here had been cancelled one week before departure, I'm so glad I insisted and eventually our booking was honoured. IT WAS WORTH IT. DON'T settle for less, you'll wish you hadn't. I was finally given an explanation by the hotel upon arrival that a mistake had been made with the rates originally published on the Internet which were 50% less than they should have been. To limit the financial damage the UK agents are trying to reallocate guests who booked via inspired luxury escapes and broadway travel. Again. DON'T SETTLE FOR LESS THIS IS NOT THE HOTELS FAULT. Other couples relocated were disappointed.

The hotel overlooks the stunning caldera high up with uninterrupted views of the sunset and the beautiful town of oia. The rooms are pretty and practical individually designed and each with everything you could wish for. The breakfast is fabulous make sure you're not on a diet!! The staff couldn't be more friendly and in summary we wish we'd booked an other week. A delightful stay and will definitely be back
