My wife and I just recently were here for our honeymoon and we were welcomed by the most friendly and helpful staff, ever. Most places that our tourists crazy have a bit of insincerity to them but the staff here were kind, thoughtful, friendly, and helpful every step of the way. The breakfast feast each morning alone is enough reason to stay at the Regina Mare, not to mention their larger than average pool and stunning view of the caldera and nightly sunsets that come from a dream. The hotel is place perfectly between all the other towns and is a nice retreat after a day exploring other villages and towns. I hope anyone traveling to Greece is lucky enough to spend some time here, it is well worth it!

After searching for the perfect hotel for our holidays in Santorini, me and my boyfriend decided to book our accommodation at Regina Mare. From the moment we arrived there we knew we had made the best choice based on what we were looking for and the price range we had in mind.
What a nice welcome we had from the staff! Their service was incredible, always helpful with whatever we needed. The people working at the hotel are very nice, kind, friendly and cheerful (many thanks to Giota, Chrysoula, and everyone else, sorry if I don't know all the names, you are all very kind :) ) , having conversations with all of them, laughing, advising us what places to visit around the island and where we could go for traditional local dishes. The breakfast has everything, any kind of sweets, local dishes and fruits you can imagine and the hotel's cuisine offers very nice food for lunch or dinner.
We chose to stay at the honeymoon suite, located at the highest point of the hotel, which has an amazing view of the caldera. The staff welcomed us on the first day with a very tasty wine in the suite and a basket of fresh fruits. There is a jacuzzi on the private balcony, where you can spend time and see the incredibly beautiful sunsets. We really enjoyed staying in this beautiful, spacious suite.
We definitely recommend Regina Mare for a wonderful holiday stay! We had an amazing time! Everything about our stay there was very nice, from the hotel location, to the attitude and the approach of the staff, to the delicious food, and of course the beautiful view!! On the next possible opportunity, we will go back to Regina Mare!

We booked this place after checking out many other hotels on Trip Advisor and we based our choice after comparing all other items were considered about location, cost and facilities.
We made the right choice from the moment we arrived and the porter helped take our luggage to the hotel to the moment we left and had the same assistance we felt very welcome by all the staff at the hotel.
The location is awkward if you have difficulty with your mobility as there are many steps on the cliff side coast of Santorini so take this into consideration with all the hotels. If you have a wheel chair dont even consider it.
The Staff as i say were very welcoming, the breakfast buffet was excellent and there were many choices from fresh fruits and greek yoghurt hot bacon sausage and eggs of all types, Greek sweet pastries and traditional Greek food. It was all delicious and there was lots of it enough to go around for everyone. Usual teas and coffees were available of course.
The hotel is located about 10 minutes walk to the nearest tarmac road and car parking place which is also by the local mini market shop. It is about 10 minutes walk to the closest taverna and 5 minutes to the closest bar which also does snack food.
A little further away if you walk into Firastefani where there are more restaurants then you are about 20 minutes on foot up and down the pathways and steps which go all the way into Fira which is about 30-40 minutes walk. I am 51 recovering from a disolcated knee and i managed it ok every evening for a week.
We did not have a bad meal anywhere we ate the only thing that differs is the cost in Fira on the front expect to pay more than a back street taverna or costs ranged from 45Euros to 100Euros for a 2 course meal for 2 with wine the sweets were ususally given free as well and a free after dinner drink. We felt like we got value for money where ever we ate. Our costs were higher if we chose a bottle of wine as opposed to the house wine. All the House wine was very good quality drinkable stuff.
We had the room 1 suite with the in room bubble pool, it had a private terrace which has a table and chairs, umberla and 2 sun loungers. The room has a well stocked fridge with keenly priced drinks and a TV, DVD and free WIFI . the wifi was accessable all over the hotel with a good signal avaliable all the time.
The room was worth paying the extra for elevated and over looking the pool it was private and quiet, you could take breakfast here if you wanted, sun bath and then cool off in the bubble pool at your leisure. When leaving it was just up a few steps to the local path. There is a safe in the room to keep your stuff safe if you need it. The bathroom is equipped with a hair drier so done bother packing one and there are toiletries or all types in the bathroom. We had a great 7 day stay and returned 16th july to the uk. I would stay there again given the chance.

Room Tip: Book the suite with the bubble pool

Myself and my husband visited here in June was was very kindly upgraded to a room with a private balcony which was lovely.
We were greated by Goita who looked after us last year at VinSanto Villas and it was nice that she recognised us and and another member of her team did too!!
We had an amazing time at Regina and the only negative point to make is the approach to the hotel could do with a proper path that is lit up.
If you do want more of a personal touch then I would recommend VinSanto Villas.
All in all we had an amazing time, thanks Goita x

I must first echo what the vast majority of reviewers say about this hotel. It is beautifully designed, clinging to the cliffs of the caldera overlooking the Aegean Sea with its phenomenal sunsets. The staff are friendly and go to extreme lengths to respond to guests' requests and concerns. Especially deserving of a mention is the front desk manager Hornella, whose personal attention and concern for our well being and overall enjoyment helped make our stay a great success.
This was our second trip, the first having been arranged by a travel agent. When we arrived we were told that we were the second guests of the season and so our room had been upgraded to a superior room. Although small, the view of the Aegean was something we never tired of and matched the room we stayed in the first time, and that was the very reason we had returned. However we also realised that, if we had not had that unexpected upgrade, we might not have had a room with the view that had brought us back. I think that in future it would be worth making a phone call to the hotel to confirm that our expectations would be met. Better that than disappointment on arrival.
For any prospective guests with mobility issues, be warned, the pathway up the cliff to the nearest taxi pick up point is about a fifteen minute walk. My wife had a hiking injury from the previous week and so any trip into Imerovigli took us about half an hour. Not the hotel's issue but one to be considered in the overall enjoyment of the holiday.
All in all we would return to Regina Mare.

We have just returned from a spectacular week based at the Regina Mare. Lovely staff, great breakfast, stunning views and sunset! Would come back again as our week was made special by the attentive staff and location. Great restaurants within walking distance including La Maison which delivered great food and views of the Caldera. Steps a little steep but we got fitter throughout the week! A little windy but no mosquitoes allowing us to sleep with the window open. Five stars. See you again!

Room Tip: It really does make a big difference to pay a little more to secure a better grade room which most h...
