The hotel is located down some steep steps, but the views are stunning! Staff were very friendly, breakfast was nice with plenty of choice. We had a superior room which was really nice and clean and had our own sun loungers on the terrace. Couldn't fault the hotel at all, was perfect would definitely return. Nice walk about 15 mins into Fira, where all the quaint cobbled streets are and shops and bars/restaurants. Worth going on a boat from Fira just to experience the views from the sea, to understand how high and beautiful Fira is. We went across to the volcano which was worth doing, We went to Oia which was also nice to see the sunset.

We booked a standard room of this hotel for seven nights. On arrival we were told that the hotel is overbooked and we had to go to hotel Spiliotica (five minute walk, also
Imerovigli), where we should stay
two nights in a rural suite. We found this suite very dirty (dirty towels, even after change; rusty air conditioner and fridge, calcified instruments in bathroom; etc.) and
could not sleep well, so we returned after one night to Regina Mare and asked for an adequate accommodation according to the standard we booked. They transferred us to Danas
Villas in Firostefani, which was good.
When we returned for the second time, we eventually could move to standard room we booked, room no 16. This room was very tiny, approx. 13.5 m^2 and not renovated as it should
be the case for all the superior rooms and suites. The wardrobe was so small that we had to put our trolley on the two chairs as additional storage for our cloths. The bed
jarred, fortunately the hotel could mitigate this put putting some extra blankets below the mattress. The bathroom was also very tiny, dark, somehow clammy and would
even more require a renovation than the rest of the room. For hot water is was necessary to switch on a boiler 15 minutes before.

According to our experiences and the numerous other guests we talked to, it is a business model of the hotel accept a considerable amount of over-bookings. However, we can
not say that they handle the situation well. We found it very annoying that we had to move twice and felt like having lost two day of our holiday. We also had the
impression, that the hotel was not looking for a customer satisfying, but for a cost-efficient solution while looking for an alternate accommodation.

Nevertheless, it was not everything bad. The terrace features extraordinary views over the caldera with an awesome sunset, that we found even more beautiful than in Oia. The
breakfast was also nice with many home-made things.

Room Tip: Probably the standard rooms should be avoided since they are not renovated and all located on the lo...

We stayed at Regina Mare June 26th-July 3rd 2014. We were upgraded to a suite at their sister hotel just up the stairs for our first night when we told the staff that we were on our honeymoon! The rest of the trip we spent in room 12. This was considered a 'junior suite' and you must be aware that that is not the equivalent of what you may be used to when you hear the word suite. The room was small with a cave like bathroom that my 6' 3" husband had to crouch in, the patio was not private as it was next to the staircase BUT the room was clean, cool, quiet, comfortable and a great value. The staff were so friendly and helpful, Ornela was always there with a big smile and friendly, helpful advice. The breakfast was over the top in the sense that they really did outdo themselves with amount of choices it may have been better to have been offered less choices but better quality. We felt that it was not the best tasting so we settled for the really delicious yogurt and coffee/tea. The pool was nice and clean with lounge chairs and tables surrounding, the atmospheres was very quiet and relaxing and the view was impeccable.

On our last day as we packed up and relaxed by the pool we noticed a couple being shown to room 12 (our room after it had been cleaned) they were complaining and upset possibly by the size or lack of private balcony? We could not believe that they were wasting their vacation time upset and complaining over something so minor. We had a great stay at Regina Mare and were very happy with our choice to stay!

We stayed at Regina Mare for a week. It took us a while to find the hotel as it is on the cliffside and only accesible by foot but this is the same in the whole island.
From the moment we got to the hotel we were warmly welcomed by the receptionist who offered us a lovely juice to cool down.
The porter took all our luggage from the car to the hotel. Not easy at all! But he made it look effortless.
When we were shown our room we loved it from the begining. Well equiped with tea and coffee facilities, hairdryer, tv,coffee table... it was really cosy and on opening the window the view was breathtaking...we even had our own balcony which, although adjoining next door's, was very private. The room was cleaned everyday.

The pool was great. One of the biggest of all the other hotels (as we could see when walking around). Comfy sunbeds with views to the caldera and the amazing sunset.

The food in the hotel was lovely and tasty. Breakfast had so much choice!! And everyday you had something different, so good that we looked forward to it everyday!
Also they've got a good menu for lunch and dinner.

The staff was very nice, they meet all your needs but at the same time they respect your privacy.

Santorini is an amazing island and you can find plenty of good restaurants with good prices.
We had the perfect holiday and we could not have chosen a better hotel to stay in.

Overall this was a great place to stay for two weeks, It's position is superb, and especially if you get one of the first floor rooms it is a sheer delight to sit outside on your balcony and look out over the caldera. The staff are excellent, friendly and supportive and helpful, all the way from the reception staff, the cleaners, and the lads that make carrying 40 kg of luggage up a steep hill look like child's play. The breakfast is not just good it is excellent, unless you want your food really hot. The Greeks generally don't do that!!!
Like a lot of the better hotels in Imerovigli it is down a fair number of steps, but both of us are in our later sixties and managed fine. In price terms it is pretty good value for Santorini which is now a destination for the better off, for honeymoon couples especially from China it seems, and so on.
The hotel is pretty small and so does face a problem because people are coming and going all the time and rooms need to be filled. So as you can see from occasional reviews, there arel problems with getting a specific room. But the staff do their best to be helpful. Imerovigli is the quietest of the villages on the edge of the caldera, but has enough shops and restaurants to be fine. We thought Mezze and Avocado provided the best quality cooking there, and La Maison on the track towards Thera was top notch cooking, though more exposed and so occasionally windy.
The hotel is just off the old cliffedge track between Oia and Fira, both great places to visit. Oia is about 2 hours walk, and Fira about an hour. But there are buses both ways about every 20 minutes. And from Fira bus station you can head on elsewhere to other villages.

Room Tip: Higher floors are better but more costly

First of all what a location...........overhanging the cliffs with the best views and sunsets you could find, it was simply stunning. There cannot be a better location to enjoy a bottle of wine. As many have previously stated there are many many steps but if you don't like steps then don't go to Santorini...simple.
The rooms are very small but that's because you are on the side of a cliff face and in a way that's the magic of the place, small, compact but very clean.
The only main issue we had was being moved after 3 days just like everyone else was while we were there, we didn't meet anyone who wasn't moved at least once. Now bear in mind we paid €2,500 for 7 nights B & B in a honeymoon jacuzzi double for the hotel only you can understand why people are little upset plus we booked it app 12 months ago. Granted the hotel move all of your stuff for you but it isn't quite what you would expect for that kind of money. Some people were even shipped off to other hotels for a few days. It is obvious the hotel continually overbooks itself and this needs to be addressed as we are not talking a budget priced hotel here.
That said we had a fabulous time, Santorini itself is stunning as was Oia and Kamira, lovely restaurants and the people were very friendly
Would I return again?? Yes I would and to this hotel too but only if they could promise me the same room for the whole duration of the holiday

Room Tip: Room 2 and room 5

Where do I start? Before we booked this hotel we requested one superior double and a twin room for my daughters..10 days before flying we were advised this hotel had no twin rooms! I actually think this is the fault of Olympic as they should know the property they are selling. Prior to this as I had read on trip advisor if one could do you should up grade to a Junior Suite this we did. So on arrival hot, bothered and down numerous steps we are shown to the reception area more like a cubby hole while we are invited to have a drink, to be honest all we wanted was to get to our rooms, maybe this is the british culture? However on seeing our rooms we were so disappointed they were so not what we were expecting considering the price we had paid. To spare you my utter dismay I will tell you my husband and I did stay in a 4ft bed in a junior suite...laughable the only extra bit being a 3ft stone mattress that they said one of our daughters aged 19 or 21 could sleep on in lieu of the twin! The other room had a 5ft bed, this is room 15, had an awful bathroom, leaking toilet, shower head on the floor, plug holes in the wall filed with loo paper, but this is the room my daughters had because that was all on offer.
The views are sublime, but actually you also need to have accommodation equivalent to what you pay. This holiday was by no means cheap but to be honest the reception staff couldn't care less. It was a game of fitting who where when, one couple were moved 4 times in as many days! All of the people there apart from a honeymoon couple had not been given the room requested on booking. Apart from the room situation the other facilities were minimal, breakfast was extensive but poached eggs put out at 7am were still there cold and flaccid at 8.30am ask if you can have fresh and they are most indignant. Overall the bar/restaurant staff were very grumpy as if they were doing us a favour. Lunch menu of snacks is great but takes an hour or so to materialise. All in all a hotel cannot just trade on its view, which believe me is stupendous, but they also need to think about the customer experience too. Will I come back ..no. Would I recommend it..yes but only if room is specified and only for 2/3 days max.

Room Tip: It doesn't matter they just seem to put you where you fit regardless of the price paid
