“Perfect start to our honeymoon”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 June 2009

What can we say that other guests have not said already. We stayed in the White Suite which was breathtaking at the beginning of May. Im afraid all these good reviews will mean we will never be able to get a booking again!!! I would love to return to anastasis for our anniversary next year. Everything every other reviewer says is true of this place. It was the absolute highlight of our greek islands trip, we stayed in Santorini, Paros and Mykonos and can absolutely say that we have never stayed in accomodation such as this before. We will be back again, I hope we will be able to get a booking!!!

We have just got back from a fabulous mini-moon at this gorgeous hotel. Despina and her gang - Katerina, Dina, Eddie, Bledie and several other members of staff - made our stay personal, flawless, and super relaxing. We chose not to rent a car, or do any sight seeing, as we needed to rest and rejuvenate, and that was easily obtained in the luxurious White Suite (room 101), which has a massive private roof terrace, complete with comfy loungers, and also the added bonus of a private garden, complete with shaded seating area, and best of all, a hot-tub! This little oasis of calm became our spot for breakfast and lunch every day - it was heavenly!
The swimming pool is divine, and the view from it needs to be seen to be believed. The hotel is spotless, and the room was comfy and spacious, with a large flat screen tv, dvd player, and cd player.
The food in the hotel is top notch. We had breakfast inc. in our room rate which consisted of a basket of fresh rolls and croissant, and then a different variation every day of either yogurt or cereal, and then either cake, warm pastisseries or something savory. It was a delight, and the fresh orange juice and hot coffee topped it off! They also serve a variety of room service "snacks" and drinks. We totally over-ordered for lunch on the first day, as the portions are very generous. The club-sandwich and greek salad became the favourite choices! We spent around 90 euros on 4 lunches and some other drinks and cocktails, so pretty reasonable too.
We ate out every night in a different restaurant recommended by Katerina. Vanilla in Firostefani was great - we had the fresh sea-bass which was melt in the mouth - and there is a lovely sunset view from the top terrace - around 100 euros for 2 courses each, and a bottle of wine. Ambrosia Nectar in Oia we would also recommend - delicious stuffed lamb, and fun desserts - similar in price, maybe a little cheaper. We went for a different approach the next night, and sampled some rustic food in Toy Nikoy Taverna down the road. They offer a free lift there and back, and the staff are charming. The food is basic but very tasty - we had the stuffed tomatos and peppers to start which were yummy, then chicken souvlaki which was tender, and the lamb chops. Half the price of the other restaurants around, and certainly nice for a change. We went to Archipelgos in Fira on our last night, and that was special, mainly due to a perfect sunset, and impeccable service - 100 euros again though.
All in all it was the most perfect 4 days, and we are going to start saving now to go back for our 5 year anniversary!
We can't recommend this hotel enough. Go there, you won't be disappointed!
Yassas & Efharisto to all at Anastasis - we will be back one day!

White every where. A Host who thoroughly greets you as soon as you enter the establishment. Your luggage disappearing to your room without ceremony. A delicious welcome treat delivered to your room as you refresh and prepare for your island adventure. True concierge service, personified as friendly inputs, offering insider knowledge and suggestions on everything from where to go, what to eat and how to get there. . . . and arranging for outside services without even a thought.

A view that takes your breath away. A remarkably lovely 10 room boutique hotel that is serene, beautifully landscaped, and flawlessly maintained. A room that includes details for every romantic, i.e. candles - with matches, first rate bedding and linens, fresh flowers everywhere, modern adaptable lighting and technical features (Flat screen TV, DVD and movies for viewing). And . . .if you must, free internet service.

A jacuzzi tub in your bathroom, or a jacuzzi tub outside overlooking the view - take your pick or enjoy both. A small menu for room service. Fresh delightful breakfast items presented at your choice of locations. A spotless kitchenette with an extensive array of small gadget if you prefer your own cooking.

This is a place for two to begin, regroup, or renew. I normally have somewhat fast paced vacations, but I hungered to do nothing but hang around this hotel and relax. The calming, peaceful aura of the hotel is almost intoxicating, forcing you to want to just enjoy its' setting.

The hotel is at the top of a cliff and is 45 minutes walking distance to Fira, or 2 hour hiking distance to Oia (for those in decent shape - while beautiful, this is not a simple stroll.) I recommend seeing the island via your own transportation - bus service, although easy from the hotel, is time consuming.

Kudos to Despina, Katerina and the whole crew at Anastasis Apartments. They have truly perfected a 5 star experience in a small luxury setting. The glitz of a larger property is not here, nor are some of the amenities . . . . . .but the hotel is beyond compare for personalized service and romantic charm. This crew could teach some of the best how it is really done! Despina goes way beyond to please, and her pride in ownership sparkles everywhere you look, beginning with the design of the hotel, and its' decor and ending with the selection of the outstanding 9-11 member team. When leaving the hotel, Despina went out of her way and surprised us with a personalized request that will forever bind us to the hotel. This was one of the most amazing hotels in my travels and Despina is truly a standout!

No detail missed. . .. . no service item too much to ask . . . . No need to look anywhere else.

Santorini is amazingly beautiful and is truly a Fantasy Island. On the Fantasy Island of Santorini, is the Fantasy Hotel of Anatasis Apartments!

The Anastasis was perfect. My husband brought me here for my 40th birthday. The view was breathtaking from our apartment and the room was totally immaculate. Despina and her husband Vagelis; owners of the Boutique Apartments, were so helpful and very inviting. We arrived in the middle of some crazy weather so it was kinda freezing but the apartment was made nice and cozy for us.. we had the spa at sunset on the evening of my birthday so we had this awsome view in a hot spa with a chilled bottle of Moet.... mmmmm gorgeous!!!!
Cameron and I can't wait till our next visit to Santorini. We will definately be booking the White suite at the Anastasis again... the room, the view, the decore and the view oozed extreme romance and the service from Despina and staff was above and beyond awesome!!
Thank you Despina, Vagelis and all the wonderful staff at the Anastasis Boutique Apartments!!!!

Sorry it has taken us a year to post this Despina :)
I don't think there is anything i could possible add to all of these fantastic reviews, this place is the best place we have ever stayed at (like in our whole lives!) Despina and her family and staff make you feel like family, they take great care of you, the hotel is VERY CLEAN as well as the grounds. This place is PERFECT in every way possible, the walk to Fira is beautiful and as long as you have a great pair of sneakers, there won't be a problem. We can't wait to go back, we will stay again at the Anastasis and no where else. We also stayed at the Ikies during our trip and while the accommodations where very luxurious and the staff friendly, when we arrived there we were sad because it lacked the personal touches Despina adds to your visit that really make the whole Santorini experience a very warm and unforgettable one. We stayed in the white suite, and it was absolutely incredible - fantastic bedroom loft area, amazing balcony for breakfast, dinner, sunbathing, and a great bathroom with spacious stone shower.

We stayed in Anastasis Apartments for 4 nights (May 10-14) and absolutely loved it. The pictures on their site don't do it justice. The rooms were so immaculate and clean and the hospitality that Despina and her staff provide completely exceed expectations. It is the little things like bring out free glasses of wine to you while you are watching the sunset or not letting (they wouldn't have it) me carry my bags from my car. the staff is really a team and it makes you feel like everyone there really cares about the property and guest experience. The views and rooms alone would get this place 5 stars, but it is the hospitality that really makes it so fantastic. May was the perfect time to go and couldn't imagine dealing with all the tourists and heat in high season. The pool was fresh, but felt great in when the sun was high. We stayed in the apartment for 2 nights and a junior suite for 2 nights. Although the bathroom and room was a bit larger in the Junior Suite, I actually liked the Apartment better because it was on the first floor. It was nice to be able to walk right out of the patio to the pool and deck. The only downfall is that is is only within close walking distance to one taverna which was fine with us since we had a rental car.

Yassas!
My husband and I just returned from a 2 week vacation in Greece...our only regret? Not staying the entire time at Anastasis Apartments. We have traveled in Europe quite a bit, but have NEVER come across such beautiful accomodations and people as we did at Anastasis. When we first arrived, we were met at the airport by a driver who took us to Anastasis. Once at Anastasis, the front gates opened and we immediately felt the love from Despina, Katerina and Dena. We were greeted with open arms and a warm handshake. Despina showed us around, Katerina gave us a quick Greek lesson and some tips about things to do on the island, and Dena showed us to our room. Once inside of our lovely room (complete with beautiful, fresh flowers in the bathroom) we were treated to a bottle of wine and a snack.

The staff at Anastasis, as has been said before, is superb. No request is too big or small. Every restaurant recommeded was amazing, whether gourmet or a local gyros joint. And if you eat at one of the recommended restaurants, a staff member is always waiting for a review upon your return so they know if they should continue recommending it.

My husband and I renewed our wedding vows while at Anastasis. Despina made the process absolutely effortless. The spa area was beautifully decorated, the town official was exceptionally dressed, the music and atmosphere unforgettable. The ceremony meant so much to us and we will never be able to thank Despina and her staff enough. After the ceremony, Despina arranged for us to have dinner in Oia at Ambrosia and Nectar (if you go, you MUST have the Warm Feta appetizer....unreal!) and provided the transportation as well. The side mirrors on the car even had bows from the ceremony......

I really could go on forever about how truly special and memorable Anastasis Apartments is. No detail is left untouched....from the water being mopped up immediately after someone gets out of the pool to the fresh flowers at every breakfast. Sadly to say, I fear we will never find another place as wonderful as Anastasis. To Despina and her staff, EFHARISTO for an unforgettable second honeymoon. We felt absolutely loved from the second we arrived.

If you ever get a chance to visit this beautiful island, do not go until you can book a room at Anastasis Apartments. I promise, you will not regret it. And if you are island hopping, save Santorini until the end, because you will find yourself comparing every other island/hotel to this hidden gem.
