“Perfect Honeymoon”
Reviewed 20 February 2009

My husband and I stayed here for the first week of our honeymoon. From the moment we arrived, it was perfect! We were greeted by a member of their very friendly staff, who showed us to our room and helped us tour the site. The grounds were a bit smaller than we expected, but this turned out to be a plus - an intimate and peaceful stay! We were in walking distance to Fira, and a short cab or bus ride to to other cities as well as the beautiful beaches. Our room was simple yet beautiful. French doors opened to a gorgeous seascape. The restaurants on site served a variety of delicious foods (even for a very picky vegetarian), and the staff shared tastes of flavorful wines. Owners and staff were genuinely kind and thoughtful, making our stay even more relaxing. We dream about returning to the Santorini Princess!

My husband and I stayed at the Santorini Princess last May--it has taken me a while to write a review...but this place was great. We were going on a romantic trip and wanted to stay somewhere with views that also felt special. I looked at some of the exclusive places in Oia that you see in travel magazines, but we were not going to pay those extreme rates. Then I found the Santorini Princess. Before we got there, I hoped that it would be a nice place, but wondered if the great website made it look nicer than it was. Was I wrong...when we got there, not only did it meet my expectations, but it by far surpassed them. There are spectacular views. You have the panoramic cliff-side views. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the beds were comfortable for that matter too (reviews mentioning otherwise are old). The location is walking distance to Imerovigli and right on the bus stop for going to towns. And if you have a car, which we did, it is really easy drive to both Fira and Oia. The best thing about the Santorini Princess were the small touches. The owners and the employees have such a great attention to detail. This is what I think makes this place unique--they take care of their guest needs and they make their guests feel special. We were just on vacation, but our stay there felt like our honeymoon. We would venture around the island during the morning/day and then all I wanted to do was go back to the hotel to sit and relax at the pool, as it was my favorite part of the day. The only thing I regret we did not do is try to the restaurant. This was a great place. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone heading to Santorini and looking for a special place to stay.

My wife and I stayed at the Santorini Princess for 4 days on the first leg of our honeymoon. This place is heaven on earth.

When we arrived the entire staff was at the entrance awaiting our arrival. The hotel sits right on the edge of the caldera and the locale is one of the most beautiful I have every visited. The view from the pool looks like a postcard. Our room was right in front of the pool with a nice view from our balcony.

The hotel itself is very small, maybe 25 rooms which makes for a very relaxing environment. They have staff onsite 24/7 and they were even available for a chocolate sundae request at 2am. The service is frankly impeccable.

The only two complaints I would have is that the pool is too cold to swim in and the beds are not the most comfortable. If they were to fix these two things I am convinved there is no place on earth i would rather go to relax, period. Bravo to these guys, they really deserve it.

We got married at the Santorini Princess when we stayed there for a week in September.
The hotel is in a superb location overlooking the caldera and the SP is immaculately clean. As other people have mentioned we were given champagne on arrival and given a tour of the hotel and all the staff came out to greet us.
We stayed in the honeymoon suite which was lovely and had it's own jacuzzi, although the jacuzzi is not as private as it looks on the website and people walking to other apartments and on the road in front of the property can see you in it.
The owners Achilleas and Alex were simply brilliant in helping us organise the wedding from start to finish. If anyone is thinking about getting married here don't bother with a wedding planner as with the help of the owners you can do it all yourself.
The Saturday we were due to get married they had the worst storm on the island for 10 years so the hotel just changed everything to the Sunday instead. The wedding day was wonderful with all staff at the hotel ensuring our guests and ourselves had everything we needed to make our day special.
The food throughtout our stay was excellent and the service and friendliness from all staff at the hotel was probably the best i have ever experienced. We will definately be returning.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights from Sept 20-23 based on reviews from this site. We couldn't agree more with all the wonderful things that have been written about this hotel. We've never experienced service and hospitality this exceptional. Upon arrival, we were greeted with champagne and given a tour of the property. Our bags were wisked to the room and Mr George gave us great recommendations for dinner, shopping, wine tasting, etc. We wanted to rent a quad (very popular on the islands) and so it was at the hotel waiting for us in 15 minutes. As for our room, it was beautiful. We booked a seaview apartment for 270E per night. It had a capapy bed, with candles everywhere, a jacuzzi in the bathroon, and a terrace that overlooked the sunset and caldera. it doesn't get better than that. This hotel is not located in the two major towns (Fira and Oia) so it does require the use of a taxi or a quad rental. This was fine with us because in my opinion, the view was better from this hotel than in the center of town and we enjoyed the privacy. And the quad rental was a lot of fun! (Taxi costs about 5 euro to go to town and quad rentals are 25 euros per day). I would recommend having dinner at the hotel's restaurant - the food was delicious and it has a very romantic atmosphere. The breakfast buffet looked good although we didn't try it because the price was too high for the amount of food we would eat. Instead we ordered directly off the a la carte menu and it was delicious. One morning we weren't that hungry and they gave us croissants, toast, butter and jam free of charge. Very accomodating. The only recommendation I have for this hotel is to get more lounge chairs by the pool. Although we had perfect seats during our days at the pool, there were not many.

We had the best stay here. I was very impressed by the staff. we were a bit concerned before arriving that it would suit our needs of a party of 4. we had the apartment with 2 bedrooms, 2 baths. It was great for 2 couples that want some privacy and it worked out cheaper than 2 separate rooms. The hotel is well taken care of, clean. The pool was heated the first night but unfortunately as it got warmer outside, they turned it off and then was a bit cool. while lounging around the pool the staff is right there and quick to help you. They came around twice with complimentary drinks and dessert. We had to leave very early in the morning and they had someone out to help us pack our car. They even gave us a small gift when we left. the location is beautiful -abit hard to find until you know what to look for from the road, but the view is amazing.

My husband and I (in our 30's) stayed at the Santorini Princess Sept. 2-5, and we both were impressed from our first moments there at the attention to detail and personal touches that made us feel special and relaxed. I'd read negative reviews of first floor rooms being too close to the kitchen area, but we were only one room away from the laundry/service area. While we heard some dishes clanking lightly it wasn't until we were awakening and opening our windows (10AM or so!)

The rooms are quiet and well sound-proofed, impeccably clean. As soon as you set an empty glass or cleared plate down after enjoying a fresh lunch by the pool, it's quietly swiped away by the staff to leave a pristine environment. We met some raucously fun Canadians who are world travelers and also loved the place.

We live in Orange County, CA, where there are plenty of luxury hotels (Ritz Carlton, Montage) and you would be hard pressed to find staff as friendly and attentive. We're business owners, and we can tell that Achilleas and Alexandros have a lot of pride in ensuring the Santorini Princess is clean, runs smoothly, and that you enjoy the island.

I'm an explorer who loves to hike and see the beaches, but it was truly hard to pull ourselves away from the relaxing and gorgeous view at this hotel.
