“Spectacular views and wonderful staff”
Reviewed 30 July 2009

Our son was married at this hotel on the evening of July 24th. Apart from the stunning setting, the wedding was fautless - wonderful food and extremely nice staff. They did everything in a very professional but friendly manner. It was a terrific experience for all the party, especially the sunset! For a romantic setting, it cannot be beaten.

I first came to SP with four mates in 2005 and was so impressed that i thought i would take my girlfriend (whom i i met in 2007) in 2008. She actually cried when she was leaving. The SP is the most amazing place..Achilleas and Alexandros are extraordinary as is all the staff....impeccable. Earleir this year we got engaged and we have decided to get married at the SP in September. We have just returned from there and cant wait to go back in a few weeks time to see our new friends at the hotel. We organised our wedding plans with the greatest of help from the SP staff and are very excited to so the result in September. We plan to visit the hotel every year....who knows...next year mnght be with our first born child!

We have travelled to all the "hotspots" in the world but this place is heaven and is our most cherished hotel in the world.

From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family that had arrived home for a holiday. The staff were hospitable and genuine, catering to our needs throughout our stay while never being pushy in any way.

This town is the ideal spot on the island, and Santorini Princess is the perfect place within the area. It is situated only 10 minutes from the main town of Fira (rent a scooter or 4-wheeler for sure!), and about 15 minutes from Ia (another cute town on the western tip known for its sunsets - though the sunset from our hotel room balcony was even more sensational). The pool is serene with its very chill music, and the food from their own restaurant is excellent (pricey but worth it - get the vanilla-like milkshake made from a plant with supposedly medicinal powers).

It was my girlfriend's birthday while we were there and I asked if they could bring a small cupcake or something sweet with a candle on it to our room at night - they ended up having their chef create a huge cake that was absolutely delicious. And they even sang 'happy birthday' in Greek.

The room is a bit tiny, at least the one we stayed in, but it is in very good condition with a little TV, wonderful jaccuzi, and spacious patio overlooking the caldera and sea.

The food on the rest of Santorini is sublime. The beach/sea and the towering volcanic caldera are idyllic. And the overall Greek mood on this little island escape is nothing short of heavenly.

Don't use the ferry to go to Athens though. Take the loud little plane - takes 20 minutes vs 7 hours.

Enjoy!

My husband and I spent 5 nights at this lovely hotel,to celebrate our 25 wedding anniversary.I have always wanted to visit Santorini and knowing this my husband left the choice of hotel to me.Having read through the various places described on Tripadvisor ,I decided on The Santorini Princess ,as we did not want to be in the centre of Thira or Oia.

Having had a busy itinerary for the 2 weeks prior to our visit(flying up to England, on to Italy, then back to England)by the time we got to the hotel we were exhausted, but we were greeted by lovely staff, given a quick tour of the hotel and then taken to our room, where the luggage was ready waiting,a champagne cocktail was delivered and the staff melted away!Heaven.

We had the honeymoon suite for our first 4 nights which was stunning! The fact that the outside jacuzzi was not totally private , as commented on recently, was not a problem for us as there was very little foot traffic and you can sit in it at night with your drink and feel perfectly alone. The swimming pool is lovely and a lot larger than most on the island.
The service at the hotel is wonderful, the food excellent ,the setting Stunning!

The hotel has a nice driver and car available to run you round and pick you up at a fair price which I would highly recommend ,I forgot to book them to collect us from the airport and we subsequently had an interesting!!! taxi ride-but thats another story!

The standard room for our last night was fine but obviously a lot smaller than the honeymoon suite. My advice-get the Honeymoon suite it is well worth it.On the other hand we couldn't afford one 25 years ago but we are still happily married!

Katinas at Amoudi is lovely and Ambrosia in Oia also, both recommended by the hotel.
The Blue Lagoon catamaran cruise is well worth the cost as you wont be surrounded by loud drunk tourists as witnessed on the cheaper cruises. The BBQ on the boat is gorgeous.

All the staff were really helpful and made us feel that they genuinely cared that we enjoy our stay.Which we really did ,it truly was a dream come true, the sea really is as blue and the sunsets as colourful as the postcards portray.

The walk up the hill to the village is a must take the camera, also get the driver to drop you in Thira and walk back to the hotel lovely views and helps build the appetite for all the lovely food!

If going to Oia for sunset walk past the windmill on your left down and round to the right and there is a new bar and swimming pool with a raised terrace where you can have a cocktail for 10 Euro or a beer or G&T for 6 Euro with peanuts supplied. If then walking down to Amoudi to eat at Katinas make sure you get down the steps before it gets too dark as it is steep and badly lit.Well worth it though. The fish is Fresh the tomato salad amazing and the fried zuccinni and peppers really more-ish!!

GO ENJOY !!

After going through very positive reviews about Santorini Princess, we stayed here from June 24 to June 27,2009 and had a wonderful time. The location of the resort is with amazing view and every thing so perfect that make your stay all the more enjoyable and comfortable. From the owners to each and every staff member put in their best to provide you more than what we expect. Especially the restaurant and spa staff members caught more of our attention.

Santorini is a very different place and is not to be missed by anyone traveling to this part of the world.

We enjoyed a week's honeymoon at the Santorini Princess. After a year and a half of wedding planning, this holiday was ideal for us to relax, chill out and be looked after by all the staff. The staff are very dedicated, polite and hard working and were always on hand to get us drinks, food, towels etc.

The restaurant food was absolutely gorgeous, with choice of Mediterranean or Greek menu and lots of delicious meals to try.

If you're looking to escape and relax this is the place for you.

I booked the Santorini Princess based in large part on my review of previous reviews on this site as well as the beautiful pictures on the website. I had high expectations and was concerned that, as is often the case, I would be disappointed. I was not, in any way, shape or form. The hotel is located on the Caldera between Oia and Thera. It's literally right across the street from sheer cliff. The hotel appears to be in a somewhat new development, in that's it not located in a traditional cliff side town. I found this to be a plus, as you could park a car right outside the hotel, and you were away from the hustle and bustle of the towns. At the same time, the hotel is located within walking distance of shops and restaurants, or a five minute drive. We booked a "superior" room. It was beautifully appointed (marble everywhere) with the bed located upstairs in a loft sort of structure. The balcony was relatively private and looked out over the Caldera. Service was excellent. As one example, on the last night the hotel staff located us on the property and informed us that as a result of a transit strike the following day, our outgoing flights may be disrupted. They then spent the next hour working the phones in order to get us a flight out that evening. Overall the staff appeared genuinely dedicated to ensuring we enjoyed our stay, were friendly, and were always there for whatever we needed. No detail was overlooked.

A couple of pointers. I had initially tried for the Honeymoon Suite, but it was booked. After staying at the hotel, I'm glad we got our superior suite. The Honeymoon Suite is located on 'ground' level, and as a result is less private than some of other the rooms, located on the second floor. The jacuzzi is outside on the porch, in plain view of other balconies as well as a stairway which runs up to the second level. We didn't view the inside of the suite and it may well be superior, but the lack of privacy on the porch/balcony was a definite detractor. Because the hotel is located just a tad outside of town, it's advisable to rent a car. While one can walk to the popular destinations, or cab it, we found that the rental cars (the tiny one's) were relatively cheap and very convenient given the easy parking at the hotel. The hotel has a nice business center with two internet-accessible computers for those of you that need to keep in touch with back home.

You will not be disappointed in the Santorini Princess.
