Great accomodation and excellent hosts, we were a family of 6 and we stayed at the suite with the private Jacuzzi :) Was a remarkable experience in Santorini, would definitely stay there again if we get a deal that it is as good... Basic breakfast was included as part of our rate which was good. The suite is very spacious, nicely furnished and well equipped. Has a nice private terrace with very good sunset view.

Magnificent view from the hotel especially from the swimming area. However, the swimming pool is too small for proper swimming. Facing the volcano island and lots of chill out area. The rooms are spacious with a living room area with sink and kitchen utensils provided. Air-conditioned and TV is included. However, there is no audio from the TV. The remote for the air-conditioner died but it was quickly replaced. The hotel used saltwater for shower/toilet hence drinking tap water is not recommended. The power for shower is not strong enough so little water at a time. We did not pay for breakfast in advance but they served it to us anyway so they tricked us into believing that it was provided. At the end we have to pay for the unrequested breakfast and its 10 euros each! Hotel is 30 mins walk away from the busy town Fira so some sort of transportation is needed ie bus/ATV/car. Quiet at night with a few restaurants nearby. I recommend joining the semi-private tour on the yacht that is advertised at the reception - 90 euros for swimming in the warm spring (volcano) and red/white beach area, snorkeling, good food, wines and sunset altogether! Not bad for family and friends. As for honeymoon couples, you deserved better so find yourselves another hotel!

This was our second trip to Hotel Sunny Villas and we were not disappointed. Andreas upgraded us to a Superior Room as this was a special occasion. Each night we watched the amazing sunset from our private balcony (while all the tourists are packed together in the one main viewing area) and than headed out to one of many restaurants within walking distance. Enjoy a swim in the pool why drinking a traditional Greek Frappe. Ensure you book a transfer with Andreas before you arrive and they will drop you at the car park. (You will not get lost as it is clearly signposted - at most a 2 minute walk) I would also request a transfer from the hotel back to the airport. (Cost £8 Euro per person one way). I would recommend staying here as a romantic destination for couples.

Sunny Villas has lots of stairs- but every single step is worth it for the amazing views of the Aegean. We stayed here for four nights in a four person villa (114).

The staff are fabulous, from Andreas and Michael on reception to the breakfast waiter, barman and housekeepers. All are very helpful and pleasant. Our villa was well appointed in a slightly rustic way but featured plenty of Santorini style. My only gripes were that, there were no hooks to put your clothes on when in the shower, the safe wasnt bolted down and the TV reception and channel options were extremely limited- but who cares when you are in Santorini. Our villa included a lovely flower filled terrace with an outdoor sofa and chair and this was a delightful place to sit and have breakfast and enjoy that amazing view.

The walk into Fira (which is just a continuation of the path outside reception) is a must do. Sunny Villas is a charming place to stay and I recommend it highly

Absolutely the best view of any hotel we've stayed at. We loved it so much that we skipped sightseeing to spend more time in our villa enjoying the view from our Jacuzzi with a glass of wine (Santorini whites are very nice, and you can get them, plus cheese, etc., at a convenient mini-mart very close to the hotel). The room was spotless, and Andreas (the owner we think) bent over backwards to fulfill any request. All the villas have a wonderful view, We recommend the ones with Jacuzzi. We lucked into one (Andreas upgraded us!) and were extremely glad we had it. I would not have expected to enjoy it so much. The room also came with a terrace with a big table, and several lounge chairs. Comfortable enough to stay up talking and see the sun come up. But sunset is the real spectacle. Lots of boats gather by the western end of the caldera to wait for the sunset. No need for that if you stay here as you can see it perfectly from your room with no obstacles. It was wonderful!
Be aware that it's a bit of a walk from the road to the hotel on a narrow passageway. And the hotel is not spanking new (although Andreas is always quick to fix anything broken), But the experience of an incredible view and perfect service makes this a great hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for jacuzzi in terrace

What an awesome view!! My husband, two children (ages 14 and 15 at the time), and myself celebrated our 20th Wedding Anniversary in Santorini last year, for a week, and what a beautiful and memorable experience. We absolutely loved staying at Sunny Villas (in a large clean suite, with a kitchenette too), with our own private modern terrace, with an incredible view of Santorini and Skaros. The staff was awesome - so friendly, kind, funny, helpful, and very knowledgeable on Greece. Both Andreas and Michael felt like family to us, so hospitable and warm-hearted and our kids got a big kick out of their sense of humours. They would always stop to make time to talk to us about our day's activities and they made many helpful suggestions, along the way, to fill up our itinerary.

We always look back on our incredible journey to Santorini with such warm, loving feelings and the whole experience at Sunny Villas, with their excellent staff (including Tim at the bar), made for a wonderful week on this awe-inspiring trip.

Looking forward to going back sometime in the future!!

Thank you both Andreas and Michael for this great experience and we will never forget your kindness.

Sincerely,

Rose, Ken, Katelyn and Alex

My other half and l stayed here for five nights in May 2011. Though we struggled to initially find it (not helped when we discovered we had first stopped prematurely in Firostefani (sp!)), when we did, it was more than worth it.

We stayed in a superior studio, directly under the shared seating, opposite reception (l cant remember the number l'm afraid). The room was fine, big, clean, and the bathroom was gorgeous. In our hurry, we hadnt been shown how to turn on the hot water and, being British, were too embarassed to ask until the second day, so we did have cold showers for the first two days! FYI - there is a switch as you come in on the right behind the door!

As per my title, the view is stunning. Whenever we were out, l wanted to get back to the balcony, and the sunsets were stunning. We felt so lucky to be watching it from such a privileged point. And to have breakfasts bought up to our balcony every morning was a lovely touch.

Only downsides were that the bar wasnt' opening until the Saturday after we left - we left on 31 May, and though there were some pretty candle holders about, there were no candles inside which would have made it so romantic. Perhaps this is something that could be addressed? I think it would be a really lovely touch.

Also, the people who stay in the room next door, had to walk across our balcony, which wasn't ideal and would be the only thing that would prevent me from re-booking. This is of course not down to the hotel, but a quirk of the layout.

As there was no bar, we took advantage of the fridge in the room and stocked up on our wine and beer to drink whilst watching the sunset. Which probably saved us some money in the end!

We had a hire car and though we were always able to find parking, a couple of times we did get blocked in, though never for too long.

Overall, beautiful, stunning views and a lovely hotel. The only reason l am giving 4/5 is as l said, the balcony issue (again, l stress this is not down to the hotel).
