“Our third year and will return”
Reviewed 25 August 2012 via mobile

A great view of the caldera, with great host, family run by Freddy and son Alex who make you feel at home and go out of their way to make sure everything is perfect.Great coffee at breakfast, fresh squeezed OJ, traditional room with balconies facing the caldera . Views to kill for. And the bucket list island of Santorini and it's sunset. If you like to walk there is a trail behind the hotel that goes all the way to Oia or Fira passing by churches and the constant view of the volcanic crater. They also make very generous drinks and is a great place to hang out.

The hotel is located in a wonderful location along the walkway from Fira to Oia. It is about 20 mins walk from Imeroviglia along this walkway. Situated on the cliff edge with unobstructed views across the Caldera and perfect for watching the sunset. The hotel is relatvely small and intimate. Staff are friendly. The owner Fred arrived on our last day and I can see his popularity. He is very interactive with guests and passionate about Santorini. His son Alex was very helpful and informative prior to this so we did not feel we had missed out.
Our room was a double view room and the views would take your breath away. What a pleasure to watch sunset from our balcony.
Rooms were very big and spacious. Cleaned daily but often very late in the day.
The downside was the food service. The breakfast quality was quite poor (yoghurt from Carrefour, limescale was in the water for the tea). Perhaps we were just picky as the quality of the breakfast in the two other Greek hotels we had stayed in was excellent. The snack menu was unimaginative and very simple (however here the omelette was excellent) and drinks and snacks were surprisingly expensive. There is no evening restaurant either.
Despite this our saty was marvellous in a superb hotel with a fabulous view.

Room Tip: You will probably need to drive if you stay here, the hotel staff can help arrange this. When arriv...

Stayed in the hotel five days. The location is unbeatable especially if you have a car. The view from your room or the breakfast area or the pool is spectacular. You can see the Caldera on one side and the vastness of the Aegean on the other side. The owner and his wife Fred and Eleni were a pleasure to get to know and a huge source of advice while discovering the island. The honeymoon suite was beautiful and had a perfect view from its patio or balcony or terrace. The hotel was very isolated and private yet within a five minute drive for 30 minute walk to Fira. Will stay there again next time without a doubt.

From the moment we arrived at Imerovigli Palace, we knew we had booked the right hotel. The view took my breath away! We were shortly greeted by Fred the owner, who bought us a drink and told us a brief history of Santorini and the best things to do. He couldn't do enough for us and everything he suggested we did and it made our stay even better. The view alone I would say is the best on the island especially the sun set! The pool is the 3rd biggest on the island and has 360 views of the sea and Caldera. The rooms were clean and tidy and fresh towels and linen every day. The 5* rating isn't quite accurate compared to UK 5* but the views are worth coming here alone. Can honestly say I/we had the best week every and will defiantly be staying here again if we are lucky enough to come back!

After a hectic 2 nights in Mykonos there was nothing we wanted more than to relax by a beautiful pool with a stunning view over the Caldera. We arrived at the hotel and were warmly welcomed by an ever so friendly Fred, the owner, who obviously loves Santorini, telling us about the best kept secrets on the island, from restaurants to boat trips...he took us to places so we wouldn't have to pay for taxis, treated us to lunch and then the following night was treated to dinner by his son, Alexandre. After having problems with bank cards Fred gave us a big discount and refused to change our room to a smaller one when i suggested it. We will be eternally greatful for their kind hospitality and will return for certain to see them and that fabulous view over the caldera.

You do need to rent a car whilst staying here as its not really in walking distance to anywhere, unless you enjoy hikes! Also the beds are small but you will see that none of this bothers you when you are welcomed so kindly by people that just want you to love their hotel and their island!

We have recently returned from the Palace and I can honestly say we were treated to the most relaxing, hospitable and scenic holidays anyone could wish for. Fred the owner and host is a remarkable man who along with his family are just so friendly and helpful. Fred loves his business and he loves making his guests feel very relaxed.
There will not be many settings in the world as beautiful as the Palace and it's view across the Caldera takes your breath away.
Our room was excellent with air con and very clean.
Look at the live webcam on the site and that is the view from each room.....stunning.
We will definitely be going back to relax more and enjoy Santorini Palace the beautiful island itself and of course Fred and his Family.

We were treated like royalty at the Imerovigli palace. The views are stunning. The pool is clean, never busy and one of the largest on the island, and all the staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. Fred, the wonderful owner, bent over backwards to organise meals for us at places we never would have known about otherwise. He is a mine of information and simply wants people to have a great time. The rooms are simple and traditional but clean and comfortable but we moved to a more expensive room (Hera) which was on 2 floors with 2 balconies and was gorgeous. You need to get taxis or the bus to explore the island but it is more than worth it as in exchange you get tranquility and unobstructed views of the caldera with incredible sunsets every night. Kostas and Eleni also looked after us like we were old friends. We have already recommended it to all our friends without hesitation.
