This hotel is a real gem. Situation on top of the cliffs looking out over the caldera and towards sunset is magnificent. There is even a view of the sea to the east. There is a pleasant breeze beside the pool, which is a good size, should you want to do a length or two rather than simply plunge. Our room was v spacious, on one level with a jacuzzi bath in addition to a shower. Outside was a patio sheltered from the wind looking towards sunset. Breakfast was an excellent buffet with eggs optional at extra cost. Tomia also made lunches and dinner on request. We had the best tasting moussaka one evening. The location is quiet and some people might want a hired car. We walked to Fira (1 hour) and also in the other direction to Oia (2 hours along the cliff path) Fred the owner makes you feel at home and is ultra helpful in organising trips etc. Unlike some of the accommodation in Santorini, there are hardly any steps to negotiate - so ideal for those with any mobility problems. We just loved our stay there - definitely this was mostly due to the kindness of Fred, the owner and Tomia

This is a quaint and charming hotel located just north of Imerovigli--arguably the prettiest setting in Santorini. The island is only a mile wide where this hotel is located, so there are views of the sea both to the east and the west (caldera side). Our room had both east and west windows and balconies, and the views were amazing.

The hotel is owned by a kindly man named Fred. He's a bit of a talker, but he has a big heart and takes good care of his guests. His young and friendly assistant manager Thomia made a couple of meals for us and the food was delicious.

Overall, this is a small, family-feel hotel that is a great value. You can pay 2-3 times as much for a swankier place in Fira or Oia (or even in Imerovigli), but you won't get better views or service than you'll get at Imerovigli Palace.

As with many hotels along the caldera, the view from Imerovigli Palace was extrodinary. The real beauty of the hotel, however, is the owner and manager Fred who treats his guests as family. We were amazed at his hospitality and met multiple customers who had been back year after year. We realized after a few nights there that when we go back we shall likely stay there again as much for the view as to see Fred again. We also like the location a litte out of town toward Oia. there is secured parking and plenty of it. a bus stop out front. and you are close to Oia which i much prefered over Fira for views and food as well as spending an afternoon. the rooms are nice and a great deal for the price we paid. you shall pay a lot more for the next step up in accomodation and we felt this absolutely was the best deal along the caldera edge. thanks fred. we'll be back. yiannis and danielle

We spent a night at this hotel right at the end of our holiday. The hotel is outside of Imerovigli, on the main road to Oia, but you cannot hear any traffic. Our room was very spacious with all mod cons and nicely decorated. Shower room was adequate and served its purpose. The view from out side our room was wonderful and there was even a table and chairs where we could watch the boats slip by. We could see all the way to Oia. The pool and communal areas are clean and welcoming. There is a bar area where breakfast was served. Breakfast was a cold buffet but very extensive and delicious. Hot eggs were available at an additional cost, but certainly not necessary with the selection of meats, cheese and pastries. You could have breakfast outside looking over the caldera on lovely big tables. In the evening as we did not have a car, we set out to walk to the taverna just up the road ...but somehow missed it and ended up walking into Imerovigli itself 15/20 min walk along edge of the caldera (fortunately we had a torch, bit dangerous without!). Our walk took us past some amazing rooms, hotels etc - oh how the other half holiday!! Certainly some fabulous accomodation to be found in Imerovigli! However the Imerovigli Palace was a very pleasant place to spend the last night of our holiday and I would certainly stay there again, if longer than a night I would hire a car - but the bus does stop right outside the hotel. Hotel is easily accessed from Thira and Oia.

I've stayed at several other hotels on Santorini over the past ten years or so but the Imerovigli Palace was just so right in so many ways. The location on the top of the island, just a few minutes in either direction to Thira or Oia, the wonderful Fred who makes this place so special. Very secure, large pool area, rooms with views that take in both sunrise and sunset, and the wonderful restaurant Irene just next door. The view will take your breath away.

Imeroviglia is the best place to stay on the island, between the busier tourist towns of Thira and Oia where parking is a terrible problem and boatloads of cruise ship passangers clog the streets. The view from our rooms of both sunset and sunrise couldn't have been more spectacular. The owner and his son were exceptionally helpful, though they do not respond well to email. We got an upgrade on our rooms for free and a plentiful breakfast was included. Take the walking path from the hotel to Oia for marvelous views of the caldera--about 1 1/2 hours. One night was not enough--we will be back!

Having visited Greece many times this was the first visit to Santorini. All hotels look alike on line..in the towns too congested, loud, old and small..unless you want to spend big $$$$$$$ but then you loose the entire Greek experience. The Imerovigli Palace was a great find...call or email and ask Fred as many questions as you like..he is very honest and will try to meet your every need. We are from the US and his English is fantastice along with several other languages. I made it clear it was our honeymoon and we wanted a special experience and great room. He set us up with the Aphrodite room..view of sunrise and sunset with three terraces to lounge. Rooms are decorated with wonderful family antiques and are very comfortable. The Staff is friendly and do a wonderful job in keeping the rooms spotless. Upon your arrival Fred will sit down with you and offer you cocktails by the pool and give you a map of the island along with insight and suggestions.

The hotel is less than ten years old so it has many great modern advantages...like the best water pressure in a shower in the entire country of Greece! Car rental is a must...we explored the island and found many hidden gems..wineries, private beaches and local artists. You have to stop along the roads and visit with the locals. The wonderful aspect to the Imerovigli Palace is gated "off street" parking.. you do not realize how important it is until you see for yourself. Everything is close by..Fred sent us to a wonderful restaurant with the freshest seafood at the southern tip of the island near the light house and it only took us 30 minutes..and that was with a stop for wine!! You are centered between Fira and Oia only 5-10 min by car..or a bus stop is right out front. Great hiking trails right out the front door of the hotel. Can go on and on.....clean, comfortable and convenient.

Great pool...(3rd largest on the island) The pool furniture is even the best! Call Fred, you will not be disapointed.
