This place offers a quaint Greek stay experience while giving breathtaking views of the Caldera. Situated at one end of imerovigli. It is very quite and I think one of the highest points in the area. Hence you get perhaps the best view of the Caldera. we did go to Oia but the view from here was anyday much better. If you stay here then sitting in the caldera facing balcony is a must during sunsets.

The rooms are quite large and in every way possible very greek from the style to decor. We had our own balcony. The hotel also provides basic kitchen ware, glasses etc That makes the room seem more homely.

It has a lovely pool. But when we were there it was too chilly to step in. Maybe as this is little higher we found the place more chilly.

The hotel is connected to the main road by a 10 mins walk. The bus stop of imerovigli is right at that main road, so very easy to travel to Fira and Oia (5 mins and 15mins respectively). there are also some Greek taverns/eateries as we exit the hotel bye lane. There is also a mini mart nearby with all required amenities and wine. The hotel also has room service and in room massage. We didnt try the massage but the food was great.

The hotel is also connected via a caldera walk. This walk is a must. Its a good 40 mins walk to Fira, crossing Firostafani on the way. Also a 2 hours walk/trek to Oia which we didnt try. This walk gives you the best feeling of the beauty of Santorini.Only then can you enjoy the little views and the best Santorini architecture. There are many eateries along the way which are all great. Try to visit as many as you can in your stay. This hotel being on one end is surrounded by some very good properties, but is very quite and isolated. The main markets areas of the caldera is 30 mins or so away on foot.

If you want a quite time, when you just want to lay back and enjoy the best views of the Caldera then This is that perfect place.

This hotel is everything that's exquisite and special about this island. The accommodations are excellent - clean, spacious, comfortable, elegant and every thing one can possibly need, including a first-rate dining experience and the most spectacular view for every sunset from one's own private balcony. Every person on the staff did everything possible to make our stay memorable and enjoyable. Every suggestion was exactly as promised from dining to entertainment. Every effort was made to answer any request we had without hesitation and always with a smile. Afroessa understands hospitality and provides the best of it in every sense of the word. We can't recommend it highly enough.

We just got back from Santorini. Deciding where to stay in Imerovigli was a little challenging because almost all hotels offer a very good view of the famous Caldera sunsets. But after reading the wonderful reviews of this hotel and the fact that each of the rooms has its private balcony to enjoy wine and sunsets/views, we booked and celebrated my 40th birthday here!!

The place is exclusive for adults and has 10 rooms. It has a pool, a bar and its own restaurant. Pictures don’t do the place justice. The location - Imerovigli - was a quiet, more romantic area than Oia and Fira. It was just perfect!!

We were at room 10 which is above the pool area. Beautiful view from this room, you won’t see the roof of other rooms, just the pool and deck area and the ocean and Oia. The room was clean and charming. There’s a small fridge in the little kitchen area, which came in handy for drinks we bought outside the hotel. The balcony was a little narrow, but comfortable enough and has a space for a table and two chairs, so we enjoyed breakfast (very good, I suggest just have breakfast here everyday, which we did!) and wine in the afternoon over there. I like the fact that the room has its own gate, that we could close whenever we want. They provided robes too which we made use of since it was chilly in the morning and afternoon.

The staff were all nice and welcoming! We were so impressed with how they handled everything from the moment we booked until the day we checked out. Mary was so helpful and answered all of our questions. The booking was a breeze, we asked if we can have the room above the pool and that we really wanted this trip to be special because it will be my 40th birthday celebration. She didn’t promise it to us but on the day we arrived, we were sooo glad to find out that it was available and we’ll be staying in the room that we envisioned we will be in. She also set up our arrival and departure taxi and made sure we had help in carrying our luggages to our room. She insisted on having someone help us with carrying our luggages again when we checked out, but it was very early in the morning (5am) and we didn’t want to spoil anyone’s sleep. We just appreciate how accommodating she was and everyone else in the hotel including Dola (hope I got her name right) who’s so warm and gentle; always had a smile on her face and never missed to greet us each time, Eddie (hope I spelled that correctly) who was the one who welcomed us when we got off the taxi to the hotel and carried our bags to our room and gave us refreshment drinks upon arrival, was also very nice and welcoming (he’s the owner’s son). Even the owner of the hotel, Lady Joanna, whom we encountered one night as they were closing the restaurant and we just got back from dinner and wanted to have another drink at the hotel; she said if we want, she can make us something simple, but we didn’t want to trouble her anymore, the gesture itself was more than enough. We decided to have dinner at their restaurant on the last night and the lady that served us (I forgot to get her name) also went above and beyond what’s expected. After our main course, we wanted to go outside and have dessert (which was a really big slice of baclava with chocolate sauce, we were surprised at how big it was!) and wine at their outdoor restaurant area; but it was so chilly and our sweaters will not suffice, so she offered us two warm and cozy blankets! So thank you, thank you, thank you, to all of Afroessa staff and owners for making us feel welcomed and our business appreciated!! Most of all for helping to make my milestone birthday a memorable one!!

I’d say if you’re thinking of staying at this hotel or if this hotel is one of your options; just do it!!

From the moment we arrived till the moment we left the staff and owner of this hotel somehow made us feel that they are there most important guest. But, it wasn't just us it was everyone. As we sat at the pool visiting with other guests they were all repeat customers. Between the view and the service you will be hard pressed to find a better value for your money. As with anywhere on the Caldera there will be stairs to climb. The staff was amazing and hard working. We were with a group of three couples and we all agreed that this was one of the top highlights of our trip to Greece.
Satisfaction is a measure of how well expectations are met. Afroessa exceeded our expectations, and we went in with pretty high expectations.

We only were able to stay one night, but we'll be back! Hopefully...

The view is amazing, of course, and the location right on the trail to Oia is perfect, as is the solitude and quiet, but it's the staff that sets them apart. So friendly and helpful, which was very welcome compared with other encounters at restaurants and hotels around Greece. Thanks Eddie and everyone!

And speaking of restaurants, the food here was exceptional too. We weren't sure since there never seemed to be anyone eating in the restaurant (slow season?), but we ordered room service (at no additional cost) and were not disappointed. Our room with a view now had dinner with a view! Kudos to the woman who brought that heavy tray down all those steps.

And kudos to the owner (Ioanna?) for creating a workplace where the staff is friendly and happy. They held our bags after we checked out so we could walk to Oia and back and then arranged for our transportation to the airport.

A gem...
