Pros: Imerovigli is a great location on Santorini to stay. It's situated high up with a great view of the caldera. It's within walking distance of Fira (about 15-20 mins to the main part of the town). The walk is scenic, the location serene and away from busy tourist areas. The Arch Houses themselves are white, cave like, and feel very unique and truly Santorinian. Very clean and Shelly the housekeeper we met was a lovely, thorough person. Good breeze and AC available. Staff was pleasant.
Cons: No pool. No breakfast or any kind of refreshments offered upon arrival. The shower has no separation from toilet, so all get wet and one or other can be used. Management is available few hours of the day 9:30am-12:30 pm and again from 5 ish to 9 ish at night. This makes checking email (you can only use their computer) or changes in plans, inquiries for taxis, restaurant reservations and general questions, etc. difficult to do. Also, there are MANY steps involved in getting to this place from the road. They are narrow and dragging your lugguage up these stairs with no help from staff is quite a task! They watched us struggle :o(

We learned about this hotel through this site. We were looking to spend a relaxing honeymoon and a view of the caldera was a must.
First time we reached the hotel and saw the caldera for the first time we were struck with awe. It is a marvellous sight. The hotel is perched on the cliff edge just meters away from the caldera path (a path along which one can stroll down to Fira some 20 minutes away from Imerovigli).
We chose the Stone room. The layout of the room is a simple yet cosy one and has unobstructed view of the caldera. The only thing that we really found strange was the shower / toilet layout. One must also mention that the narrow stairway leading to the room is a bit uncomfortable when it comes to handle bulky luggage but soon we got to appreciate that it is typical Cycladic architecture.
The hosts are extremely helpful and charming.

Some tips for your stay in Santorini:
1) Always carry some water with you wherever you go.
2) Take with you a good pair of walking shoes.
3) The boat tour around the caldera and the walk up the volcano is an experiance not to be missed.
4) We rented a car for 3 days and visited all the towns and villages on the island. Get around the island there are some stunning places (like the monastery on Mt. Profitis Elijas) just to mention one.

Enjoy your stay

A little gem of a hotel. Totally worth it.

First, the owner and management are very nice and accommodating.

The owner, Flora, gave us a good deal for the Thira apartment for our stay in August!

The apartment was really cute. The views fantastic.

Georgia, the manager and owner's daughter, went out of her way to make us comfortable and enlighten us about all great things one should do in Santorini. All I can say is listen to her, you won't regret it. Her restaurant suggestions were fantastic.

The other manager, Barbara, even let me keep one of the hotel's books I had started reading but had not yet finished before checking out. Nice people.

Second, the location is nice. Imerovigli is between Fira and Oia. Fira being too crazy, loud and touristy, this village is a nice alternative if you want to avoid the crowds. It is also less expensive and less touristy than Oia as well. A comparable lodging in Oia on the Caldera will cost much more. Imerovigli is definitely the hidden jem on the island.

The apartment was maintained every day by housekeeping.

Overall, great value for money for the discerning traveller.

Would go back anytime.

The moment you put your suitcase down and look at the view from the terrace, you will have to catch your breath! The view is one of the most spectacular sites I have ever seen. We stayed in the Thira room. Plenty of room, a little kitchette stocked with the essesentials--corkscrew and glasses, among other things! It's kind of fun staying in one of the traditional "cave houses".

I can't say enough good things about Georgia. She went out of her way to help us arrange dinner reservations, transfers, ANYTHING! What a delightful young lady. You won't get this kind of personal attention at a big hotel.

Yes, a pool would have been nice (especially in Sept) tbut you have the beach nearby. Imerovigli Is more quiet than Fira or Oia with less options for dinner or shopping but either town is reachable within 20 minutes or so. You won't be dissappointed staying at ArcHouse.

I advise to go to Arc Houses, as it is really beautiful: amazing view to Caldera, the rooms are very clean, with terraces...The swimming pool is missing but we can go to the one of another hotel, so it is not too bad...

From Arc Houses, we can walk also to Fira (15 minutes walking) but 30 minutes for the way back..It is a good sport each day..

The owner gave very good advice for restaurants, and visits in the Island..I advise definitely Arc Houses..

My friends and I stayed here for my birthday trip to Greece. It had great views and wonderful rooms. It felt quite authentic staying here and made the whole experience that much more worthwhile. Plus the owner was so kind and sweet. She gave us great advice on what beaches would be nice for that specific day due to climate conditions and provided recommendations what restaurants to eat at. She even got us a table at one of the best restaurants on the island for my birthday dinner. An amazing place to stay when you're in Santorini, no question!!!

We had the most wonderful time at the "Stone" studio of the Arc Houses and it was by far the best in terms of the view. Flora was extremely helpful and kind while our room had a spectacular view of the caldera. The best value for money. Would highly recommend ARCHouses to anyone visiting Santorini.
