Our host at our lodgings suggested we try this when our first choice was not available. Such a find! It was a nasty, chilly evening but warm enough although partly exposed(had plastic drop-down sides and outdoor heaters. A brightly-coloured wrap is provided for each table to help ward off any chills. We had booked which was helpful as we saw many turned away.
The service was exceptional. Two glasses of the local firewater were provided gratis, as we're a couple of excellent dips. The menu was extensive, making choice difficult. We finally settled on the lamb and a chicken dish, along with an appetiser which we definitely did not need, despite its deliciousness. The lamb was melt-the-mouth tender and was accompanied by excellent roast potatoes. The chicken was likewise tender, but a little too salty for the eater's taste. All was fresh and delicious.
All staff were courteous and attentive. The waiter's level of service was fantastic; just the right balance between attentiveness and unobtrusiveness. Unfortunately, due to the newness of the establishment, they did not yet accept cards, but we were assured this was only a matter of time. The one downside to the restaurant was the couple at the next table who smoked continually, wreathing everyone else in their smoke. Perhaps a policy of smoking outdoors might be a good idea?
The bill was remarkably small for such a good meal and experience. We are not tippers, but we left a generous one as we felt this establishment merited it.
