We stayed at the Remezzo hotel in June 2011 and it was absolutely gorgeous and different to any other hotel. Our balcony had a stunning view of the caldera. Vasillis was very helpful pointing out the restaurants nearby and even leant us his lap top. He was extremely friendly to our two kids (2 and 6 year olds). The hotel is on a spectacular walkway into the nearby town and near the bus stop to Oia. We would love to return here.

Room Tip: We had a room with a double bed and two single beds which was a great room

We stayed at the Remezzo Viilas Hotel from 13 to 20 Sep 2011. We chose it on the basis of the consistently good reviews and because we wanted to be on that side of the island rather than at the more touristy side. We booked through an Athens based agency (a bit cheaper than booking direct, although all the money had to be paid in advance – not so with a direct booking).
There was one issue with our booking - we had been allocated a Superior Studio instead of the Superior Suite that we had booked. Vasilis (the owner) had realised this and we had the booked room for all but the first night. As compensation, we were offered (without prompting) the option of the difference in price between the two rooms for the first night, or breakfasts for two for the week. We chose the latter and this proved to be the correct decision! The breakfasts were incredible for variety, volume and quality. We never actually finished everything with which we were presented and we simply never got hungry enough to need lunch for the whole week. When we go back (and we will), we will book with breakfasts included from the start. Be aware that not all booking agencies offer the full range of rooms, so worth checking what is available and the descriptions on Remezzo’s own website.
The Superior Suite was very stylish and extremely comfortable. There are a couple of specific features of this room worth mentioning – (a) there is no door on the bathroom area (they call it a ‘floating wall’) and it would be disconcerting if more than two people were sharing & (b) the public footpath which runs right along the coast from Ía to Thira passes in front of the very spacious and well furnished terrace – but one gets used to people stopping and peering when one is sun-bathing! The terrace itself gives absolutely stunning views of the sunsets – Oh! to be there with a glass of wine now!
Vasilis is a very special kind of hotelier. Clearly he loves his job and always strikes the right balance of helpfulness without being over-familiar. He seems to be available 24/7 and has lots of helpful suggestions about restaurants and things to see and do. The rest of the hotel staff were also ‘top-notch’. Imerovigli village is large enough, with 4 or 5 decent restaurants, a bakery, a few mini-markets and shops but, as of 2012, there is no ATM in the village.
Thira Stefani and Thira itself are walkable along the coastal path – Ía would be a bit of a trek, though it is well worth a bus ride or drive.
In summary – an excellent holiday in a superb hotel – I am just hoping that they continue direct flights from the North West to Santorini!!

We stayed at Remezzo Villas for 4nights 9/25-28. Our host Vasillis was fantastic making us apart of his family. He organized our day maximizing our time, we rented a car one day (I highly recommend to drive to Pyrgos the oldest settlement on the island, red sand beach, black sand beach, light house) that night we drive back to another of Vasillis' recommended restaurants in exa gonia which was was outstanding! We had the most beautiful sunsets everynight from our terrace. We did go one night to Oia because of all the hipe! While I LOVED Oia the sunsets in Imerovigli are not to be rivaled!!
The breakfast at Remezzo were the best we had on our entire trip!!! I could not say enough good things about the Remezzo. Prehaps a small recommendation to have a few amenities in the bathrooms & it would be over the top! Vasillis you promised me your moms recipe for fava beans??? I hope I get it . If your heading to Santorini look no further then Imerovigli & Remezzo villas! Maureen & Glenn

The first thing you see is the amazing view of the caldera and it is breathtaking. The next thing you get is a great outline of what to see by Vasillis. By far he made the stay in Santorini the most memorable with his help in navigating the island and even with restaurant ideas. Even though my wife and I got stuck on the island because of some bad weather his hospitality and help rescheduling made it easy. We truly got a great experience by choosing this hotel and the room was really nice too!

We stayed at remezzo for 7 days on our honeymoon. It is the best place on santorini for the sunset view. We didn't have to leave our balcony! Many people would come to imerovigli from the other towns to see the amazing sunset!

Vasillis, the owner, was very accommodating and very friendly! He recommended many of the places we visited and we loved all of them! The rooms are clean and have a home feel. The staff cleaned our room every morning when we were at breakfast (which was always amazing) and by the time we got back to our room, we had fresh towels and the room was nice and tidy again. We felt at home at remezzo and loved Vasillis's mom and sister!! Mama makes great food and my husband misses her club sandwiches very much! We will definitely go back to remezzo hopefully soon! We miss the view and the staff and two months later still look at our perfect pictures!

Thanks for making our honeymoon amazing!
