“A Lovely Stay and Great Host”
Reviewed 2 August 2013 via mobile

Our daughter had previously stayed at Remezzo Villas and recommended our stay. Our suite was large and overlooked the Caldera. Breakfast was a feast and all the time we were treated like family by Vasily and the team, who helped us at every turn to book restaurants, taxis etc. We will definitely stay again in this beautiful location.

We stayed for 2 nights at Remezzo. Vassily, the manager made excellent recommendations for touring the island as well as spots for dinner. He called to reserve our table both nights. There was an excellent breakfast, with fresh breads, cakes, cooked eggs, fruit and yogurt. In the afternoon a staff member would bring cold drinks and chilled towels to guests by the pool. The view is breathtaking from the terrace. A small market near the hotel lets you stock your refrigerator with drinks and snacks. It is a short bus ride into town for shopping and lunch. I would definitely return here for a longer visit.

We stayed at the beginning of June and Jan needed a light cardigan at night because of the weird windy mist that appeared for a couple of nights but to be honest we quite enjoyed the coolness. Remezzo is spotlessly clean with stunning views, relentless changes of bed linen and clean towels. Their breakfasts are Olympic and will set you up for the rest of the day. The service is impeccable service and the owner and staff provide an exceptional information service. This is a family run business and the owner Vassilis and his co-worker David bend over backwards to make you feel at home and are always keen to help you make the best of your stay. Trust their restaurant recommendations and ask Vassilis or David to book your restaurants and you're guaranteed a good table, especially for Anogi (excellent rustic food). Other restaurants we liked were La Maison (a bit more up-market) and Imerovigli Tavern (very popular) in Imerovigli, Argo in Thira and Vanilia in Firostefani. Imerovigli goes really quite after everyone has eaten so don't expect busy bars in the vicinity. If you like crowds try Thira and Oia day or night. If you're intrepid, try the walk to Oia when it's cool and in stout shoes. If you're stupid like us, try it in sandals when it's hot ! We'd also recommend the Catamaran trip and spend a day at Kamari beach. I never tired of looking at the view. We suffered withdrawal symptoms on our return home. Beautiful place and beautiful people. We'd definitely go back.

Remezzo is just as wonderful in person as it is online. The reviews do it justice entirely! Views- breathtaking. Rooms- great! Service- outstanding. It's located in the middle of everything. Just 20 minutes from Oia. Oia is quite busy, and Remezzo offers a wonderful place to return to after a day spent on the beach, in Fira, or enjoying dinner and sunsets in Oia. The host Vasilles was so pleasant and helpful. He completely makes Remezzo the place to be. I am very big on service and he was top notch. I am very great full to have spent 5 nights in Santorini especially after having stated at Remezzo.

Remezzo Villas far exceded our expectations! Vassilis was fabulous in that he shuffled rooms to make sure all our family was close together. he was helpful at all times despite our rowdiness! We travelled to Santorini for a family wedding and staying at Remezzo added to the family atmosphere. Breakfast was amazing....those greeks serve copious amounts of food....and the accommodation was impeccable. The view was indescribable and the position and accessibility perfect. No complaints...except that we all wished we could stay longer. We will definitely be back...to Remezzo Villas.

Room Tip: Rooms in the old winery section great with kids and lots of safe outdoor play area.

We stayed here for three nights. Agree with most of the reviews. The location is great, rooms were impeccable (we were in family suite), views wonderful and Vasillis is very helpful and guided us on what to do and what not to do. Santorini is pretty awesome and Imerogvili is a convenient location - accessible to Fira without being part of it. We did end up going to Fira a fair bit and mostly ended up taking taxis - the walk there was great the first time around but got old. Oia is quite a hike from the hotel.

Breakfast is pricey and there is not much choice on offer, but it is very sumptuous and good. A service charge of 5% is automatically added to your entire hotel bill, which was unusual. No other place we stayed at on this trip did that, but it was clearly stated up front and the service was excellent, so no complaints on that score. Just wanted to point it out.

My husband and I stayed there the third week of May 2013. We chose to celebrate our second wedding anniversary in Santorini and was very glad we did! Remezzo Villas is a wonderful hotel on the Caldera. The cab ride from the airport was about 20 minutes. They provided us with a shuttle from the airport which was nice. We arrived in the evening so we were amazed at the breathtaking view that awaited us the next morning. Vassilis, the manager/concierge/go-to man, is a master lesson in service. Honestly, I think the guy just plain loves his job. He had the porter greet us at the top by the entrance (since the hotel is located quite a few steps down a steep hill towards the ocean) and carried both of our heavy suitcases down those steep stairs. Vassilis greeted us in the small reception area and gave us the low down on all there is to see in Santorini. Like many people already commented, he drew us a map of Imerovigli and Fira and gave us some recommendations on where to eat, which beaches to hit, and pretty much anything else we asked. He did not steer us wrong once. He treated us like we were one of his friends visiting. That is how thorough he is. I think his down to earth and sincere demeanor is what put us at ease. Our room was big, modern, beautiful and authentic at the same time. It was a cavernous room in the side of the mountain. The bathroom was situated in the entire back wall of the room. It had a big bath tub, double sink, and corner shower without doors. Very romantic! Definitely not a room to share between platonic friends! We had a small sitting area with a couch in front of the bed. Huge closet that my husband and I shared and a small private seating area outside that looked out onto the caldera. I think Vassilis upgraded us to a higher level room since it was our anniversary and most likely not very busy. We were delighted. The weather was sunnier during this part of the week but at times a bit windy and chilly in the morning and especially at night. Because of this we weren't able to enjoy the pool. Breakfast is not included but it is worth every penny. I'd take it over any "included" breakfast any day! Vassilis and an assistant cook up an amazing sit down breakfast every morning up on the sitting patio in front of the reception area. No buffet line here! Like a five course breakfast. Bread, sweets, coffee, tea, juice, eggs, olives, tomatoes w/feta, ham and cheese panini one day instead of eggs. I was literally stuffed and happy by the end of each breakfast event. The greek yogurt with fruit is amazing. It just kept on coming! I can tell that the three or four couples sitting eating breakfast on the patio with us were amazed as well. It was almost hard to sit and accept it all. I felt like getting up and helping. And all of this served with a smile in front of an AMAZING ocean view. It was easily my favorite time of day. I was 5 months pregnant when we went so all of this food was definitely welcome. Within walking distance there is an excellent restaurant, Anogi, which Vassilis recommended when we arrived. Everything was delicious and the ambiance was lively. I'm sure that place is a gold mine. He also recommended a great restaurant for our anniversary dinner which was excellent. You can walk from there down to Fira in about 20-25 minutes but walking back up may be quite a trek. We walked down one day along the rock path and cabbed it back up later in the day for 5 euros. The walk/hike down is a bit rocky but doable. You need proper shoes. Some even had hiking sticks. I had treads on my flip flops and did just fine. The views are amazing as you are walking down. Fira is a cute little town with shops and a great souvlaki place (recommended by Vassilis) called Lucky's. We went there three times in the four days we spent there. Delish. The village/shops of Fira in Santorini are way less touristy than Mykonos. It is pristene there. Seemed a bit more upscale. Those white buildings are kept bright white by constant touch up. Visiting Santorini was made that much better by our stay at Remezzo Villas. I'd definitely recommend it and will gladly stay there again!

Room Tip: We stayed in the cave room downstairs and to the right of reception. It was awesome. Room 11, I beli...
