“OVER BOOKING”
Reviewed 21 August 2013

CHECK BEFORE YOU STAY HERE!! Even though we had booked and paid for this hotel, upon arrival we were informed there were simply no rooms due to an over booking. The manager even confirmed he was aware of this a month prior to our arrival but failed to notify us??!! Our 5 days stay was split between 2 hotels in a completely different area and hotel rating. It was extremely disappointing and a nuisance moving around. The management were fully obliged to find alternative accommodation of the same calibre but failed to do so and did not seem to care.
I would not risk making a booking here ever again!!

We stayed for one week in room number four (if remembered correctly). This room has a good private terrace right above the pool.

Pros: I am not overstating by saying the location is breathtakingly beautiful and beyond, the terrace facing the Caldera. As mentioned, we got the room with a private terrace (as some other rooms have to share the terrace with other guests). The breakfast was delivered every morning to the terrace, which was a pure joy. The rooms inside the caves are quite cool all day long.

Cons: The rooms are not quite as spectacular as it seems in the website pictures, but they're not bad either. The shower is a bit tricky as there is not good enough ventilation to dry the place up - the steam fills the small room and the bedroom as well, so it is better to shower just before you're leaving the room. The furniture is a bit worn out, but it did not bother me, as did none of the things mentioned before, as for the first priority to this trip I had been looking for a spectacular view from our room balcony, and I definitely got that.

Notes: People with difficulties with walking should know there is lot of stairs to the hotel reception from the parking spot, and to the room from the reception, but that is the case in the whole island. If you cannot walk around, you do not get the real experience. People with small children: If you are considering taking a baby buggy to the island, don't. There is no use, we tried. Take a baby carrier or sling instead.

Room Tip: Ask for the room above the pool, with a private terrace.

Photos can be deceptive but certainly not in this case! Me and my new hubby had this as our last stop on our honeymoon and we were NOT disappointed...in fact, we were blown away at how luxurious our room was. Who would complain about their personal patio with a dipping pool overlooking the Aegean Sea? The colors are vibrant and the staff is *exceptional*: literally running around the grounds to get us a spoon, fix our TV reception, whatever.

The Villas are a sister hotel to Kallista which has a marvelous pool that the Villas guests can use. In short, you lack for nothing and overflow with beauty at this heavenly, dreamy spot.

Room Tip: The loft bed can get a little warm at night but it's a small price to pay for heaven.

Just came back from Santorini last week. It has been a smart choice to stay at Imerovigli, and indeed a lucky one to have got the last minute deal from Alexander Villas. Despite worrying about some bad reviews of the hotel, I'm glad that I've given it a try. Our stay eventually turned out to be the most pleasant one among all our trips in Europe.

I've noted that some people have complained about the difficulty in finding the reception of Alexander Villas. Well my advise is, ask the hotel for a pick up service as I did. For 10 Euros you really save all the hassles, plus they help carrying your luggages !

Upon arriving, the manager carried our luggages and escorted us to our room. We were allocated a room with an infinity pool right in front, just like a private pool to us! Also we were given a bottle of complimentary champagne. We love our room so much that we rather spent most of our afternoons by the pool, overlooking the jaw-dropped stunning views of the volcano and cliffs. If it wasn't so cold at night, we would have spent our time chilling at the patio every night. Seriously we'll never get bored of the views, they're simply amazing!

The hotel staffs are friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is good, with convenient stores, restaurants and car rental companies just nearby, and it's only 15minutes walk to Thira. If you happened to stay here, try Bella Thira restaurant just around the corner, the food is nice and reasonably priced. There is a super friendly waitress who always take care of her customers with a nice smile no matter how busy she is.

As for the hotel, of course there are some tiny flaws such as the coffee and tea served in the breakfast were not hot enough, hot water supply in the shower was not so constant and the water of the pool can be too cold even during sunny and warm afternoon. However these are just some recommendations for improvement as they don't bother me much ! Overall we enjoyed our stay. Our stay in Alexander Villas has indeed made our trip to Santorini a memorable holiday and we wished we have stayed longer !

Room Tip: All rooms have caldera views, but Room 5 has the infinity pool right in front !

My partner and I have just left Santorini after 5 amazing days at Alexander Villas.
After LOTS of research and on the ferry to Santorini we finally booked this hotel thanks to a last minute deal they had on their site. The lack of recent reviews had us a little worried...but those worries were soon put to ease when we were shown to our room.
It was difficult to find at first. Check-in is via their sister hotel Kallisto Hotel, which is a lilac building at the top right of the caldera. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to the Master Suite as they had over booked the room we'd selected.
The room was everything we could have asked for and more. The dip pool was right at our doorstep & boasted a view you could only dream of.
Breakfast was great and served either at your room or at Kallisto Hotel.
All these things were great...but nothing was better than the service the Manager provided. Nothing was too hard or too much to ask for. He always greeted us with a smile & helped us with anything we needed.
We couldn't have asked for a better stay and thank the staff, especially the Manager (sorry I'm hopeless with names) for making Santorini such a memorable holiday spot.

Loving the room; currently in a Master Suite with a view that other tourists walk up a mountain to get photos of. I love it.

Honestly, the only down fall has been miscommunications in service. We were dropped at 7:20pm at a 'meeting point' by our 'free transfer' (he asked me to pay- I asked if he was joking?) and we were to be met by someone from the Villas to help with out bags. We has to find our own way after waiting at the meeting point for 30 minutes. Ended up that we were a two minute walk from
The hotel though we found our way in about 20minutes. Have found thy there have been other miscommunications but the room and view are stunning, the cleaning staff are great. For the experience I would gladly stay here again.

Very central; convenience stores, vehicle rentals and restaurants all close by. 20min quad ride to thira at most and the eternity pool is great.

We booked for a standard Double room at Alexander Villas, however on the day of arrival was given a Superior Double Room at their sister hotel in Kallisto Hotel. Room 3. The view is spectacular. We have a small seating area in front of our room. The room is spacious enough for 2. The toilet amenities are nice with azzaro toiletries.. The place easily accessible to City of Fira. We rented an ATV, hence no worries with transportation but the bus stop is just a minute walk. The breakfast is a variety of breads. The hotel is very nice and comfortable. Plus you also get to enjoy the amenities of Alexander Villas as well.. Imerovigli is the best place to stay in Santorini when it comes to budget and view.
