“Great place for touring Cork”
Reviewed 22 April 2012

We stayed at the Bridgeview Farmhouse while passing through Cork. Marian was a wonderful hostess - she served us tea and took the time to get to know us when we arrived. Our room was clean and comfortable. The B&B was very convenient to Kinsale, where we had dinner at Fishy Fishy. My husband loved the delicious breakfast - especially the whole wheat scones. After breakfast, Marian took the time to go over our map with us, and recommended the perfect route to Killarney - it was scenic, without taking us too long, and we wouldn't have known it was possible without her!

The rooms are not the largest but are certainly very nice. The shower and view from the room are excellent! But most remarkable was the splendid breakfast with freshly baked scones every day!. Marion was constantly asking us if we had enough. The warmest welcome in Ireland. We will certainly recommend the place to all of our friends!

Lovely cosy farmhouse with fantastic views over the estuary. Marion was brilliant couldn't be more helpful. Room again was lovely with gorgeous view from the window.

Breakfast was amazing home made scones porridge fruit and pancakes- still full!

Bridgeview is also pet friendly which was great for our little dog. Nearby kinsale is a beautiful harbour town.

Since I was absolving a "working holiday" in the area, we (my wife, our son - 21 months of age & myself) booked @ Marian's BnB for 22 nights.

We found her outstanding Guesthouse on the internet and thanks to the other comments on Trip Advisor we booked it without any second thought...and we were NOT disappointed in any way!!!

As mentioned in the title we found a wonderful HOME far away from home.

Marian was doing her outmost to comfort us in any way - big variety of choice for breakfast (there is a lovely menu - but if you wanted something which wasn't on the menu, she would try to do it for you the following day)
Something very delicious were also the gluten-free pancakes (crêpes-style).

There were homemade scones every morning & lovely Irish Custard Style yoghurts, fresh fruit salad each morning and plenty of other delicious things (e.g. nice speciality from Clonakilty: Black & white Pudding).

Scones can be wrapped and taken with you as a delicious snack or lunch during the day - especially our son loved them.

The room we had was very comfortable and calm - with a small en-suite bathroom.
Great shower (hot water immediately & much pressure, which you don't find in all BnBs in Ireland). Our room was called "Pine". There was no bathing tub in our bathroom, but for our son we could use the tub in a vacant guest room, which was very nice.

There is a lovely black labrador (dog) called "Lilly". It became our son's best friend and play companion every morning and in the evening on our returns.

There are also three rooms that can be used throughout the day (dining room, living room & small winter garden - with wonderful view).

In the living room there are tea & coffee making facilities (and that's also the place we were welcomed with scones & tea on arrival).

Beside of that there is satellite TV in the living & the dining room if that's of any importance to you.

If you have questions about what to do or where to eat, Marian is more then happy to give you loads of useful information and if you're lucky and she happens to have no evening occupation you'll find an amazing discussion partner with so much experience in life - it was very interesting Marian & the cream liquor was delicious too, thank you!

If you are planning a longer stay, Marian is even ready to wash clothes in her machine - so it was really a five star service.

And last but not least I wouldn't want to forget to mention, that the Bridgeview Farmhouse's host lady we spent our 22 days with was such an angel in so many ways and made us feel at home immediately, that we were really sad to be leaving after our stay.

If ever possible we'll return on another occasion, when our son is a little older - hoping to see you - Marian and Lilly again - thank you for taking such good care of us!!!

Of all the places we stayed this is the one we felt the most like family. Marian was and is a great hostess. We liked the farmhouse feel. My dad's parents owned a large farm and it so reminded me of them. I learned how to make gluten-free pancakes( almost like crepes). We were there Sept 17-19, 2011. It was truly special to look out the window and see the Kinsale river, the quaint bridge, the Holstein cattle grazing on all that beautiful green pastures and then one of the biggest and prettiest rainbows I have ever seen. She helped us with a place to eat that first night (The Pink Elephant) and called to make reservations for us. She told the best way to get to Cork without all the stress and how to get to Cobh.Gps needs to check with Marian for directions!! What a great representative for what Ireland is, Marian Moloney.

My sister and I stayed at Bridgeview Farmhouse for 3 nights beginning Sept. 27th, 2011. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there with Marian. We had a room overlooking the water and hills beyond which was spacious and very comfortable. Everything was very clean and Marian was always eager to make us feel at home. Her breakfasts were delicious and there was plenty of it! We enjoyed the sitting room in the evenings where we could watch the latest news and shows on T.V. and just relax and chat about the day's activities. Marian would offer scones and tea or coffee in the sitting room - or even a little nip of a cream liqueur (a nice way to end the day). Missing our own dogs, we loved throwing the ball outside with Marian's black lab Lily. Marian was always very friendly and took the time to help us with directions or a restaurant recommendation. She told us of a good restaurant in Kinsale that was known for its' fish and chips - "Dino's". It's right on the harbor and the fish was excellent! We both highly recommend Marian's farmhouse and will definitely stay there again in the future if our travels bring us back to this area. The views are spectacular, although it was quite foggy for most of our stay. Thank you, Marian for taking such good care of us. Be sure to wear your reflective vest when you go out walking!

As far as the eye could see, nothing but the most beautiful greenery and water views one could imagine. Upon arriving Marian welcomed us warmly into her clean and comfortable B & B. The Irish Breakfast was delicious, more food than one could possible eat. The location was very accommodating for water activities and close proximity to great restaurants and shopping in Cork. Thank you, Marian, for a great and relaxing stay at your B & B.
