“Amazing B & B in scenic quiet location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 June 2014

Family of four ( including two teenagers aged 19 ) stayed in Farmview for three nights - we were visiting Cork city and West Cork and it was the perfect spot. Quiet and scenic location without being too remote . Easy access from West Cork or from Bandon / Innishannon. The hospitality from Marion, the owner and manager and Chef , is first class - in true Irish style nothing is too much trouble and everything revolves around the needs of the guests. The breakfast was one of the best we have ever had anywhere in the world - fresh local produce and as many courses as you could eat. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal . A really pleasant experience which we all thoroughly enjoyed. Even the resident dog is extremely friendly . Go raibh mile mhaith agat !

Room Tip: We stayed in a room called Beach - a double en suite - beautiful view.

Marion went out of her way to ensure we found our way to her home. Once there she recommended great things to do and was especially welcoming. Although we only stayed one night we would definitely return given the chance. The views from the rooms as well as the yard were incredible! Lily, the sweet dog, was also a joy to spend time with and even joined us on our evening walk.

I spent the beginning and the end of my 2013 Ireland holiday at Bridgevie Farmhouse, altogether 4 days. I would recommend it to everyone (and I really do!) and surely will come back here on my next trip to Ireland. It is not too far to go to Cork and the airport, but already in the midst of the Irish landscape at an absouletly quiet location. Marian is just wonderful, the perfect host, I got fresh made scones and tea already with the very warm welcome, she has an unbelievable breakfast choice and I loved to talk with her. There are nice places to sit in the garden, stunning views to the sea and the estuary. And the farm is within walking distance to the beautiful beach and the excellent restaurant nearby (Pink Elephant). It's a great place for birdwatchers, too - you can hear the curlews from the room.

What an awesome time we had here. Stayed for Three nights while visiting the area. Marion is one amazing lady. We adored her and Her Dog Lily who is the unofficial greeter at the door. Could not ask for anything more staying here. Comfortable beds for a good nights rest. Outstanding breakfasts in the morning and to die for home made scones. Stay here.. you won't be sorry for one second. Not to mention the views!!!

We booked this B&B because it was pet friendly. Marion was very accommodating when we had to change our dates so when we arrived we were delighted with the accommodation. We were greeted by Marion with scones and drinks served outside on a sunny afternoon. The views are stunning overlooking the bay and the garden is lovely with Lily the Lab in residence x . Our two Scotties were delighted to have the freedom of the gardens. We had a choice of rooms both of which had lovely views. Marion was an excellent hostess and extremely helpful with local information.
The breakfast is probably the best we have ever had with an amazing choice of things to eat all cooked to order and how you like it. We didn't need to eat again all day and we also were offered some of Marions lovely homemade scones to take with us.
The room was very comfortable and the bathroom was excellent with a very good shower over the bath.
We would highly recommend staying here and when we are next in Ireland we will make sure we stay with Marion.
Thanks for a lovely three days.
Kindest regards
Karen, Mark and the scotties.

Room Tip: We had a front facing room with views over the bay.

What else can I say but the freshly baked scones for breakfast won me over! We had a nice stay at the Bridgeview Farmhouse. Marion made sure that we had everything we needed and made a delicious breakfast. She even wrapped up the couple of scones that we couldn't finish so we could have them as an afternoon snack. The room we had had a wonderful view of the bridge and countryside, it was clean and had a nice shower with good water pressure.

There were just a few things to improve upon, updating the room decorations a bit and putting out some fresher teabags (the ones we had when we arrived tasted pretty bad).

Room Tip: Hard to say, the room we had had a great view but the walls were quite thin with the next room over...

You always wonder if the pictures of a property are...accurate. If anything, the pictures of Bridgeview grossly understate just how gorgeous this place is. Our room overlooked the water and the green hills beyond and the view was almost like a painting. Our room was very comfortable, the bed and bathroom were both top class. We slept so well.

Marion is a magnificent hostess. She takes what she does very seriously and is absolutely dedicated to making sure that you enjoy yourself. Her breakfasts were the best we had in Ireland (especially the pancakes with fruit!) and her suggestions about places to visit were spot-on. The drive to Kinsale is quick and beautiful; every time we were there, seeing the tiny, loud, and far more expensive hotels and B&Bs we giggled and high-fived ourselves for choosing Bridgeview.
