“Wonderful Deserts - Service was awkward”
Reviewed 11 August 2014 via mobile

If they could only figure out the service operations, I would rate it higher. It's awkward to order items and shuffle between the front door and the limited seating. Now, we were in here in early August with every other tourist in the world. It was actually refreshing to see that American's aren't the only obnoxious people I the world.......

Once the deserts were delivered, we scarfed them and they we're delicious. Loved the Toffee Slice - by far the best one of what we ordered.

“Good stop before Skelligs”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

We stopped in to grab some food for our trip to the Skelligs. They made fresh sandwiches for us to take along, and they were exactly what we were looking for. The apple slice pastry was a tasty post-Skellig treat!

“Nice meal, great setting”

Nice meals for the money, the crab au gratin & Lasagne we had were spot on. Lovely place to eat, the deck overlooked harbor

“Not great”
Reviewed 28 July 2014

We stopped here for a bite to eat and a coffee on our way to Valentia - afterwards we wished we had waited till we got on the island. The girl serving us wasn't particularly friendly. We ordered two coffees, a croissant and an orange juice - we weren't asked if we wanted the croissant heated and it just arrived plain on a plate, no offer of butter or jam (although the croissant was lovely). Our other son joined us and ordered apple pie and an orange juice - it was the worst apple pie any of us had ever tasted, thick salty savoury pastry and what tasted like tinned applepie filling - again no offer of having it heated or of cream or icecream with it. Our coffees were fine - however we ordered white coffees but got black coffees and had to ask for milk. The other waitress was far more friendly and we had a laugh with her after a mix-up with the bill. But we won't be back in a hurry.

“Mouldy cake”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

Myself and my boyfriend called in to the cafe while visiting the area on the 9th of July this year, both had coffees and cakes, and realised after the first bite that the side of his cake was covered in mould. The lady behind the counter was not very apologetic, to be honest she did not even look surprised which might indicate that it was not the first time it happened.
