Description: A charming place, a restaurant with all the features to become "historical", since it stands where the first stones of Neapolis were placed in the far Middle Ages, today Polignano a Mare. Antiche Mura Restaurant is like the "Rotonde", the enchanting restaurant of the monumental Hotel Negresco in Nice, the place preferred by the most renowned people. Our idea is to realize an attractive corner of the Apulian cuisine, combining simplicity and refinement of choice. What strikes, apart from our good cuisine, is the refinement of our restaurant and the attention paid to every single detail. Finally, natural politeness and professionality will make the atmosphere pleasant and harmonious, for an unforgettable moment to spend together with other people.

Restaurant was very busy on a Monday nite when most of the others seemed to be closed. Besides for the expected covercharge, at end waiter said 'you will like our limone sorbet' which we saw brought to other tables-- many restaurants offer a little freebie digestif. But not here: E3 for a fluteglass of sorbet. So they get a cover charge front and back. Left a bad taste in our mouth.

This is a very lovely restaurant in a most interesting building. It is quite expensive, but then it's a proper restaurant, not a cafe. The menu was explained clearly and with great enthusiasm and the service was most efficient. All the food was absolutely excellent, but especially the mixed antipasta, with beautiful fresh flavours and generous quantities. I would recommend Antiche Mura for a special night out.

Atmospheric comfortable and interesting setting. Good menu, reasonably priced wide wine selection displayed in a very clear wine list. The mixed antipasta ( min 2 pers) was fantastic and generous, 4 full dishes that worked beautifully together and then 2 different dishes of baked mussels. The manager is friendly and helpful, his mother a great chef and the service is super efficient. I wished I could eat more. Definitely worth it

this is in the small historic center of town, so it is easy to reach. the food is fabulous - and we have lived for years in Italy and eaten well all over the country. the service was gracious and the place itself is beautifully restored. we enjoyed very much the fish, seafood, and side dishes. although we shouldn't have, we also tried and enjoyed the desserts, including sorbetto al limone. altogether a virtually perfect dining experience. the value was fine and the recommended wine was quite good (Pugliese, and very reasonably priced).

At first glance the atmosphere and the interior were really appealing. We had a nice romantic table assigned and were welcomed warmly. However, we had great trouble choosing from the menu – we barely found any of the food appealing (not the restaurant's fault) and decided to only eat one course.

At first glance the prices seemed OK. When we received the plate we were surprised by the little amount of food. You have to order at least four courses to feel close to satisfied. The fish was overly expensive and comes naked without anything else on the plate. I ordered vegetables (only got a bit of spinach) which cost me 6€ extra. On top of that you pay 3€ coperto per person.

As soon as the staff felt that we were not willing to order any additional things, they treated us like air and we're shaking the head when we turned down their offer for a coffee or dessert. With hanging heads and huge disappointment they walked away.
Past that point of the evening we additionally had to wait more than one hour for the bill..

All in all a huge disappointment. We don't not recommend this restaurant of you are not willing to spend more than 50€ for 2 persons / dinner.
