“A Perfect Gateway”
Reviewed 1 November 2017 for a stay in June 2017

We only stayed one night but it was fantastic. Excellent communication with Gabriele, the host. We can’t wait to find a way to go back visiting Pogliano a Mare and would definitely try to book this place again (and for more than one night). Top location, super clean and fully equipped including fast WiFi.

“Perfect location in a gorgeous seaside town”
Reviewed 28 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

My wife & I stayed 5 nights in this apartment with our 7 month old son and found it to be absolutely delightful. The owners Signora Maria & her son Gabriele were just lovely and very helpful.

We arrived in the evening when the main streets were being closed so she went out of her way to meet us on the outskirts of town to escort us to the apartment and then find parking. She even cooked some fresh pasta sauce and droppped it off the next day which we ate for dinner.

The apartment is comfortable and spacious with aircon on the bottom floor but it gets very steamy in the kitchen in the summer months on the 1st floor. The terrace is large and a good spot to dine under the stars. They also supplied a cot for our 7 mont old baby.
Exit the apartment and you have everything at your doorstep. Via Roma is a lovely strip but they close off te road at 7pm so you have to move your car a block away or it gets towed. Parking is a nightmare and the streets are tighter than we've ever experienced so hire car insurance is advised!

The old town is a delightful short walk up via Roma as are the Piazza's, Polignano's famous beach and all the restaurants. The famous grotto restaurant is literlly 100m away.

There is a bit of noise coming from the restaurants below at night and also with locals at the busy cafe bar in front of the apartment of a morning, but at least good coffee is steps away. We also found ppl sitting on our front doorstep every night we'd come home. Also the waste situation is awkward with the various coloured bins for recycling passing daily. If you don't separate the waste from the various recycling the garbage driver will leave your rubbish on your doorstep!

All in all this apartment was superb. Well equipped kitchen, comfy bed and bathroom and solid WiFi & TV. You can't beat the location and the owners are delightful. At the rate they are charging it is extremely good value. When we next visit this gorgeous seaside gem we'll be staying here. If you need a supermarket check out C7. Grazie Maria & Gabriele!

“Fantastic base for exploring Puglia”
Reviewed 26 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We stayed here for week in early June.

The house is very spacious and arranged on two floors - bedroom, living room and bathroom and a small balcony on the first floor and a very large well equipped kitchen on the with floor with a HUGE terrace.

Every thing was spotlessly clean and well arranged and the owner Gabriele and his mother, Maria could not have been more helpful and charming.

It is right in the centre of Polignano so all the shops you might need are right at hand - we would particularly recommend the greengrocers on the corner opposite - fantastic fresh produce and very well priced.

We ate at three different restaurants in the street by the house - all very good and particularly liked the small cafe just round the corner and the bar opposite this called La Cueva.

The town is busy at the weekends but less so in the week - though there are enough people around to keep an atmosphere. Mainly Italians so it feels less touristy.

It is easy to park in the area - just need a bit of persistence and is free of charge.

All the major tourist sights are within an hours drive and the airport is barely 30 minutes away.

Would definitely stay here again and recommend highly!

“Would not stay again”
Reviewed 29 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

Location is great and Polignano is beautiful. Loved having a kitchen and the terrass, but there were too many other things about this place that was just not right. The kitchen was ill equiped, we even had to buy our own frying pan. The shower malfunctioned and there were moister damages in the bathroom ceiling. They had tryed to cover it with paint but it kept falling down on the floor (I was happy our baby boy doesn't crawl yet, so we didn't have to worry about him putting it in his mouth). The washing machine was very dirty and the freddo program didn't work. I was quite happy to leave, I'm sad to say.

Good morning,
thank you for your staying in Polignano a Mare,

As I do with my guests I send you an SMS asking you "how it was", you answered me that "It was Been great" with a "smile-emoticon".

Honestly
