“Don't stay anywhere else when in Chianti”
Reviewed 3 November 2011

Great, local, quite, rustic, with old world charm B&B to visit when in Chianti. Close to all the different little towns. My wife and I have stayed here twice and we have brought friends and sent friends as well. No one has been disappointed. Definitely stay there for dinner, no matter what they cook. It is excellent. They also have excellent wines. Owners and their son have been extremely warm and helpful. Has a pool (no heater I believe) and is right behind the Molina di Grace vineyard (great chianti). Will stay here again on our next vacation to Tuscany.

My husband and I stayed at Villa Rosa for four nights in late Sept/early Oct. We had been to Panzano two years prior on our honeymoon and stayed up the street at Villa Le Barone. Upon TripAdvisor's recommendation, we decided to try Villa Rosa as it was about a third of the price of V.L.B. We ended up being so pleased with the villa and will certainly recommend it to friends and return someday. For a very reasonable rate of $120/night, we booked one of the main rooms with a terrace. The pictures online are not exaggerated as the views are incredible from the terrace. We would often have a glass of wine and some appetizers before dinner and just watch the sunset over the hills.

As we experienced the last time, we just love Panzano! It's such a quaint hill town between Siena and Florence, and Villa Rosa is in the perfect central location to travel around the area -- although I would never go without a car. Biking and hiking, in my opinion, are just too dangerous around that area due to the windy roads and constant blind spots.

Our room was very large and exceptionally maintained. The shower was slightly small (my husband is 6'6" and had even more difficulty than I did) but we managed. The Villa is also surprisingly very quiet but that might have been because it was off-peak and not too crowded. Regardless, we're from NYC so having the occasional car traffic sound outside was actually a comfort to us.

With that said, we regretted eating at the Villa on our first night. We drove to Tuscany from Milan and thought we would prefer to have dinner at the Villa upon our arrival, but in hindsight, there are just way too many amazing restaurants in the area to "settle." This dinner also ended up being the most expensive meal of our entire trip ($70 - $25/each, $20 bottle of wine & water). You can't do any better than going three miles up the street to Solociccia (the butcher's shop!) in downtown Panzano. Also, I thought the breakfast at Villa Rosa was slightly lacking. The bread was literally hard as a rock (we thought the gentleman at the table next to us was going to break his tooth), and it was just some coffee, yogurt, ham and cheese. Nothing too exciting.

But, all-in-all, we'd definitely go back -- in a heartbeat!

Room Tip: Definitely pay a little extra for one of the two rooms with the terrace -- absolutely worth it!

Just what we needed at the end of our stay in Chianti after a family visit and picking grapes The Villa Rosa was a happy final flourish. Lovely character room at the front with a large terrace and a great view. Breakfast on the rear patio and a straghtforward good value dinner. What more can you ask for? .. " A good local wine list" which they have. Thank you Sabina please may we visit again?

Room Tip: Book a front terrace room if you can.

I and my partner stayed there 3 nights in September.
The hosts were nice and helpful.
The room was exactly what we needed, nothing too fancy, but very clean, and the room was arranged for us everyday and towels replaced without even asking :)
We even jumped to the swimming pool which was refreshing.
The location was perfect for visiting Chianti, Florence and Sienna.
The villa and its surrounding are very quiet.
Shortly - we had a great time, and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to visit Toscana.

Villa Rosa was a last minute find for us. We were in Florence and wanted to get to wine country... I called for a last minute reservation and were so lucky to get a room at this place. As soon as we arrived we decided to extend our stay by a day... it was so beautiful and peaceful. We had the dinner at the hotel for two nights... both nights I would give the dinner 4 stars (out of 5)... it was wonderful to not have to worry about driving home after dinner, but on our 3rd night we went to a little restaurant just up the road which was delicious. If I stay at Villa Rosa again (which I sincerely hope I do someday), I would want to try out the local cuisine more.

The hosts were wonderful and the location was perfect... right in the heart of beautiful Chianti. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

Absolutely stay here if you can... it was worth the trip to Italy alone.

The hosts are kind, helpfull and speak very understandble english. We got help with the bags without even asking. They have an internet connection, which worked most of the time and a lovely pool! We had one of the two rooms with a terrasse which was to hot to use in the day, but was nice in the evening. The rooms are cleaned and you get all new towls every day.

The breakfast consists of some bred some of is very dry, crossants, nutella, differet kinds of marmalade, honey, fruite, yougurt, ham, cheese, juice, coffee and the.

I would say it is easiest if you have a car, since the nearest town "Panzano" is about 8-10 km away and 20 km to "Greve". However there is a bus connection right outside the house with a direct line to Firenze, but I do not know how relayble it is.
