The location, hospitality, accomadations and wonderful meals makes the Villa Le Barone an ideal home during your travels. The minute you arrive you are warmly greeted and introduced to a beautiful, quaint and peaceful setting that will provide an awesome experience as part of visiting the Tuscany region. The Count and Countess have taken great pride to insure that visitors receive a warm and friendly experience. They add a very personal touch by making sure they take time to visit with all the quests and easily approachable and willing to share the history of the region and land they so much love. . The cooking lesson was a wonderful time and fun! Their suggestions on must see locations are invaluable and worthwhile. The attention to detail is prevalent through out you visit.
We will definitely make it our home again when we return to the Tuscany.

Room Tip: Each room is a unique location with a special view .

Dear Gary A.,

thank you for your kind words on your stay at Villa le Barone. I believe you made the most out of your Tuscan trip, ... but much more remains to be discovered and we hope to see you here again soon.
I take advantage of answering your compliments to write a few lines on food we serve in our restaurant:fresh, local, in season, balanced, cooked with tender loving care by our native cooks according to classic Tuscan recipes ... it's supposed to have all to please you! ... but tastes differ and some people - in spite of the English translation- do not really know what to expect on their order and may be disappointed ... so, if you do not really like what you have ordered, just ask to be served something else and we shall do it with pleasure. This does not prevent you from asking our staff, my wife or myself advice on "what to eat tonight". It's always a pleasure to explain.
We hope to see you again soon in Villa le Barone,
Corso Aloisi de Larderel

My husband, son and his family, including two little girls, 2 & 4, stayed one night in this beautiful location in Chianti just before Easter. The accommodations were spacious and elegant, the setting, gloriously Tuscan, the food delicious. and the hosts totally delightful and attentive. The girls particularly enjoyed the gardens and pool area.
We loved everything and wished we were able to stay on; we plan to return soon!

Dear Susan S,

your granddaughters were the real Gems! We are always happy when polite well educated children come to Villa le Barone. (For those yet to come, we generally reserve rooms 32 and 33 for families with small children in order to avoid to a possible extent the inevitable noises of childhood. These two rooms can communicate with each other, have their own veranda and are a bit peripheral to the rest of the hotel.).
We hope to see you and your family soon back in Tuscany.
Sincerely,
Corso Aloisi de Larderel

We loved this hotel! The location, the service, the owners' hospitality and the room were all excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful breakfast buffets and delicious dinners. The pool was secluded and beautiful with wonderful views of Panzano. The owners were so helpful. They suggested great driving routes in Tuscany and hosted a wine tasting featuring local vineyards. Would highly recommend! It is the perfect place to stay in Tuscany.

Sear Shari915,

I am so glad that - having stayed with us in October 2013- you still have enough fond memories of Villa le Barone to write on TripAdvisor. Thank you! The 2014 season has started with some foul weather in May, but June looks sunny ... so happy days are here again! Villa le Barone has resumed its normal activity with specially beautiful roses in the garden, new recipes in the menu (wild boar coming from the farm and a classical Tuscan bollito with three different sauces), a wine list a bit extended to bring new flavors to the palate of our Guests, some new bathrooms and refurbished rooms, ... and lots of attention to our visitors to help them spend a nice holiday with us.
Thank you for your friendly comments summarizing what Guests can expect at Villa le Barone. We hope to see you soon back,

Corso Aloisi de Larderel

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Villa Le Barone for two nights, April 7th & 8th, 2014 and we couldn’t have had a more perfect stay. This is one of those boutique hotels with extra special attention to detail that does not disappoint. It is right out of a fairy tale romance and the perfect place to get completely immersed into the serene Italian country way of life.
We chose a historic room in the main villa (on the top floor) and were completely enchanted by the décor and breathtaking view. The room was decorated in tapestries and beautiful oak furniture, and the high, timber beamed ceilings provided a sense of regal airiness. Contrary to what one finds in so many historic properties, the bathroom was very spacious and modern. We were also pleasantly surprised by the small details that count for so much, such as crisp, beautifully pressed Frette sheets and linens and Tuscan-sourced bathroom soaps and amenities.
Even though the Villa was not yet fully operational for the season, we did not feel that we missed out on anything, especially with regard to the amazing dinner antipasti buffet. We were told that the food items on offer were more limited due to the opening but we could not imagine having a more plentiful selection to choose from. All meals are freshly prepared with only the choicest of local ingredients and it shows. The food, especially the ribollita and salsa verde we enjoyed during our dinner, was delectable!
No review of Villa Le Barone would be complete without mentioning the helpful and inviting staff and charmingly delightful owners whose pride in the property, its heritage and their love of the land shows in every gesture and conversation about the Villa and its surroundings.
As we were in the Chianti region for business, we were not able to partake of all the wonderful activities available at Villa Le Barone but this hotel definitely offers something for everyone, whether it's enjoying a quiet reading nook or engaging in more active pursuits such as swimming, tennis and hiking. We will definitely return to take advantage of the myriad leisure and culinary activities on offer.

Dear Kathrin B.,

you don't know how happy your comments make us! Not only for the compliments, but because you have understood and beautifully expressed what Villa le Barone is about and what my wife, our manageress, our staff and myself try to give to our Guests (sometimes succeeding!).

Villa le Barone is now open for the season and we wish you were here to see it in full swing with our restaurant doing its best to feed happy sightseers, the swimming pool, tennis, ...! Please do come back soon again and I will tell you about the bathroom you loved in room number 10 ... it has its own history!

We will greet friends and family you will address us with great pleasure and look forward to your return here, this time for a real holiday,

All the best,

Dear Larry C,

many thanks for your high marks an your stay at Villa le Barone. We are happy you enjoyed our food: local, healthy and tasty as well as the wines from the many wineries around us that supply the best of Chianti Classico. On rooms: room 33 is pleasant, large and with a large bathroom, but a bit excentrated from the rest of the hotel. As a room tip, we suggest rooms 32 and 33 for families with small children so that they may stay together in what looks like the privacy of a small house, with children having a small playground where they can play without potentially disturbing other Guests. Larger, more luxurious rooms than room 33 with a better view are of course available and we hope you will enjoy them during your next visit.

Sincerely,

Corso Aloisi de Larderel

We recently had the pleasure of staying at The Villa Barone in Panzano, Tuscany. Even though the main Hotel wasn't open, we stayed in the renovated upstairs of the Barn. Very charming and comfortable. The owners, Count Corso and Countess Jacqueline were there to meet us and welcome us to this hilltop paradise. Unbelievable views !!! They opened up their gardens to us so we could take in the breathtaking views of the countryside. Breakfast served at your desired time with a complete selection of breakfast items and fresh, local, breads and fruits. If you are looking for a quiet, comfortable getaway with views to rival any place in the world, this is the place. We look forward to our next stay at The Villa Barone.

Room Tip: All rooms have spectacular views. I would love to be there in the Spring

Dear Jim O Palatine,

thank you for your kind words.

You are 100% right: views on the hills of Chianti are beautiful all year round, but they are breathtaking in seasons other than winter: tender green in spring with yellow and red spots for flowers, deep green vines, gray green olive trees and gold brown hills in mid summer and flamboyant reds and browns in late summer and fall for trees and vines getting ready for the harvest.

The old granary were you have slept has been renovated, but so have most of the rooms and bathrooms in Villa le Barone while keeping their authenticity and charm! Also, being served breakfast in one's room is pleasant, but not as much as having it in the terrace on a beautiful sunny day!

My wife and I look forward to hosting you again soon,

Corso and Jacqueline Aloisi de Larderel

From the minute you arrive until the minute you leave, this place is a joy. The rooms are simply furnished but very elegant. There is a swimming pool within a well-tended garden, with an orchard beyond. There is an honesty bar (always a great sign) and the food is prepared by someone who loves cooking. We were fortunate with the weather when we visited (June) and were able to eat all our meals outside. The owners, the Count and Countess (Corso and Jacqueline Aloisi de Larderel) ate at their own small table on the terrace at breakfast and in the evening, and treated us as their honoured guests. We showed interest in the small kitchen garden that surrounded their villa, and were told to visit it any time we wished despite the "private" signs at the gates. In return they showed interest in all their guests' activities. Picnic lunches are HUGE. If you wander up the lane from the hotel after dark, you may be lucky enough to have a display of fire-flies as I was - thousands of moving pinpricks of light. I imagine that only happens for a few weeks each year, as it is part of their mating ritual.

Dear Peter W.,

Guests is the best thing in the Hotel business and Jacqueline and I get the greatest reward in the work of our team and on our own when we meet persons who enjoy our place, our environment, our food and are curious of our culture and history. It is us who thank you! Fireflies (I am glad you have noticed them!) appear mid-June and leave a month later. They are very sensitive to pollution and this says something about our clean environment. Female firefly has non wings and stays on the ground or climbs on a twig, male firefly has wings and flies around very slowly one meter or so above the ground. Both female and male emit light at a certain frequency. When male and female emit light at the same frequency, well, it's love at first light! Fireflies are somewhat magical: when I was a child and lost a tooth, my nanny put it on my night table under an upturned glass together with a couple of fireflies ... and in the morning I found under the glass a few coins!!! I still believe in this!!! Jacqueline and I look forward to having you back in Villa le Barone,
Corso and Jacqueline Aloisi de Larderel
